I honestly don't think we have any red flags, I just wanted to be there for her. We wanted to have our interview in January and have her brought to the states in march. She wabts a little more time with family first, which i'm okay with. :-)

CanadaNOA2

Do you have some kind of red flags that make you feel you should be there for her interview and medical?

I have a prior marriage, but other than that, no.  I just always thought it would be best to be there for her and it would also help show a more legitimate relationship.  I would do anything to make sure they see that without question, hence why I want to be there.  Plus she's nervous so support is ideal.

I don't think there is need to attend her medical.  I would strongly recommend to attend her interview.

She doesn't drive and I was going to take her to the medical and interview when I visit. It's about an 8 hour drive that I'm sure no one else will do for her besides me.  I want to be there to support her through everything.

CanadaNOA2

So I received my NOA2 today and I have a question.  It says it's good through 1/26/14.  Do I have to have my interview before then?  The situation with Amy and I (she's Canadian) is that I really want to attend her medical and interview to further help our case, but I'm all out of vacation time for 2013.  I really hope to be able to schedule our interview/medical in January, as I'll be able to attend then.  Does this plan sound like it'll be a problem? Do they offer extensions to the NOA2 date just in case? How easy and fast is to schedule a medical and interview?

Are there more offices than just what is in Vancouver (Surrey, I think) and in Montreal?

It looks like it still works, but I think it's telling me when it leaves NVC to the embassy?  Not from USCIS to NVC?

My petition was sent to them on the 26th of September.  I called today and they haven't received it yet and they stated that it could take up to 8 weeks.  Should I allow 8 weeks or would you recommend calling more often? How often does it happen that it takes too long to receive?

She was probably 14 when she was seeing a psychiatrist. She no longer sees them, and currently doesn't see anyone. So all she needs to do is approach that doctor, receive a letter she was treated and is no longer under that psychiatrists care?

Canadamedical exam question
My fiancée has a keloid on her ear, which is essentially built up scary tissue. Will thus be a problem at the medical, or should we have it surgically removed? We want to make sure she doesn't have anything go awry since her medical is 8 hours away. Should we contact the doctor in surrey directly and ask?

Also, is past depression an issue? She had minor depression when she was much younger, 21 now, and is on no medications. She'll disclose this information but is it a big issue? No past suicidal attempts or anything like that, she just had insecurity issues.
Built up scar tissue, not scary :-)

CanadaQuestions about the process for Vancouver, help!

There is also a guide stickied at the top of the Canada forum about the Vancouver process, have you browsed it?

For the vaccines only the 4 are needed.  If she has already had those she can get tests done to check her immunity (if she no longer has the paperwork proving she's had the shots.)

I've taken a look at it but the medical part is outdated.  It is still Woking I think.

She just had the vaccinations done a year ago so I believe she can still get her paperwork.

Thank you for clearing up the vaccinations and the email.  I went ahead and tried the email yesterday and I got an automated response, so it's the current email.  I guess I'll wait for packet 3 now to see what exactly is on there.

CanadaQuestions about the process for Vancouver, help!

Maybe I'm jumping the gun here, but I wanted to clarify a few points that I'm unsure of.

So our file just left the NVC to Vancouver.  I (petitioner) have not received notification that it was sent, but was told I will receive one.  She, (beneficiary) hasn't received packet 3 yet.  Should she email Vancouver here Vancouverk@state.gov? I found this in the Vancouver walk through thread.  Is this still a current email for Vancouver?

Next, vaccinations.  On Cheema's website it lists only 4 vaccinations needed, I believe including the flu shot.  But on this pdf http://travel.state....L-0014-1308.pdf, it lists tons more.  What exactly is needed?

Regarding packet 3, we've downloaded it and are ready.  We're in the process of gathering documents needed but I have a question about the required forms. I've read on VJ that some of these forms are no longer needed to be filled out, is that right? Does that apply to Canada and Vancouver?

Who has done this and how did it go?  We want to schedule with Cheema and have our interview the same week, maybe 3-4 days a part.  Is this even possible?

Mine still says in transit as well and I haven't received anything.  NVC sent it to the consulate on the 11th so maybe i'm batched in with you.  I haven't received a letter yet.

Though I'm pretty sure NVC sends you (petitioner) a confirmation letter they sent it, and the beneficiary receives packet 3.

CanadaAnyone ever visited their finace(e) for a month from Canada?

We've always brought proof of ties, mostly pay stubs, but they've never asked for them nor did any questioning.

How come you were denied 6 months?

Her local PD said 8-10 weeks, which I think we can get it sooner.  Does anyone who used Commissionaires tell me how long it took and if you have to be in Vancouver? I can't get a hold of them.

Okay. So it needs to be a fingerprint? She doesn't live near Vancouver, which is where Commissionaires is located at?

Is it better to go to the court house and request it or a local police station?

Packet 3 gives specific instructions on what data bases it needs to search and we want to make sure we get it right.  Any input for those in BC?

CanadaHow long does it take for the consulate to receive from NVC?

In all honesty, Canada isn't that far.  I believe the package is shipped from NH or MA to Vancouver, so it can take a week I would think, but if these are sent across the world and received within 5-7 days, something is wrong.

I'm definitely over thinking this, but I don't know what'll happen if it's lost or anything.

I received my letter from the NVC date October 17th and Vancouver still has not received my petition. The guides say it takes 5-7 days but we're past that and I'm worried.

CanadaScheduling medical?

Do I wait for packet 4 to also schedule our medical with our interview or do I schedule the medical before sending back packet 3? I want to have my medical the same week as our interview, that is the goal.

Anyone with any insight?

CanadaPacket 4 and scheduling interview

So my finacee has turned in Packet 3 and received an email back that states they've received it and our DS-160 and they'll send packet 4 "today".  THat was last week and we haven't received anything yet. It took her only 3 days to receive packet 3.

We're wanting to schedule her interview (she's coming to visit me for the holidays!!) before she leaves tomorrow, but we still haven't received packet 4.  She went to the website and registered where she'd schedule her interview and it states don't schedule unless you've received packet 4.  We're nervous to schedule it because we haven't received it, though most posters here state wants they've "sent" it, you can go ahead and schedule.  Is that true? Should we worry or just go ahead and schedule?

This is for Vancouver, btw.

Speeding ticket is nothing serious (depending on how fast you were going?!). Don't worry. Fight it, hire a lawyer, she'll get it dismissed. Innocent until proven guilty.

Edit: sorry, I don't know what I'm talking about. Scratch what I said. Seems they must be reported in these cases. Or something.
