The time line goes by your local office though, not Nebraska. So it might not be 18 months. I know Cleveland (my local office) is around 7-8 months.


I still don't understand some of you guys here pushing ahead with this N-400.Nobody says that you should not apply for citizenship but don't you want to see yourself done with one application before you jump with another one ?
I don't know whose idea was that filling an N-400 will expedite your status here in US . Just a waist of money at least for now when USCIS is totally screwed-up !!!! unsure.gif


You are correct that you don't have to apply for N-400 now. But, if somebody already made up their mind to be US Citizen and they are now eligible to apply, why do they have to wait? I don't see anything wrong w/ applying now even though their I-751 hasn't been approved yet. Whether you apply for N-400 now or later, you will have to pay anyway (might have to pay more if they decided to jack up the fee again headbonk.gif ). Just my $0.02.

I think everybody got an email from NSC. I checked mine and a few numbers close to my number, all say the case has been transferred to a USCIS office.

I hope this doesn't mean it's being transferred from a basement or storage to the actual office, but still stuck at NSC. Just kidding...!!! rofl.gif rofl.gif rofl.gif

I am not an attorney and I definitely don't have a bad attitude laughing.gif , but I agree w/ your attorney that we just need to wait a little bit longer. At least we are no longer at NSC. We've been transferred to CSC for merely 2 weeks now. Also, remember that there are a lot more people out there who originally applied at NSC around the same time as us and NOT a member of this forum. So, how do you know they stop working just because there's nobody approved in this forum? If you search some case numbers close to your number, you will see they are on the same boat as us.

Well, it is good to see all these approvals and I'm happy for everyone, but this thread made me obsessive about checking email WAY TOO MUCH!!!! wacko.gif So rather than stress out about it anymore since we are in our 16th month of waiting we finished up his N-400 last night and I mailed it out this morning.

If we ever get an NOA for it I suppose I should move this over to the naturalization thread then?

If you have a cell phone that has an email address associated w/ it, you can put this email address instead of regular email address in the USCIS online status page. This way it goes to your cell phone as a text message. yes.gif

I highly doubt that... Relax, just be patient a little bit longer. If you don't get approved after 2 - 3 months being transferred to CSC, which is the average for people being approved by CSC, then you can start to get angry again.... laughing.gif laughing.gif

I was kind of hoping that we would not have to go to interview for removal of conditions, especially since we had an interview for the initial greencard. Not that it will be a problem in any respect, just that it's more time off work, more stress etc. I honestly thought that since we had sent so much evidence, an interview wouldn't be necessary and recently I haven't seen many VJers who have been called for interview, but most seem to have got their removal of conditions approved without interview with far less evidence.

At the medical, we're suppose to bring a "interview letter".  Is this the packet 4 letter we received, or do we receive a confirmation for scheduling our actual interview?

My finacee and I will be moving in with my parents when we move to Kansas.  Wouldn't that make the total household amount 5? Or does it really matter since they can sponsor 4 and 5?

 

What about my lack of income after my two weeks expires? Do I fill out an I-134? Is my lack of income a problem?

 

I'm extremely worried but you sound confident I should be okay

I have placed my 2 weeks notice in. I hope I made the right choice. I was very unhappy at my job and quitting allows me, and my finacee, to move back home closer to my family.

 

Both of my parents make roughly 90k a year combined. My parents household consists of my mom, dad, and my little sister.  My finacee and I included makes 5.  This should still be sufficient, right?

 

I will have no income for the time being, just my savings, which isn't much at the moment.  I currently live in Oklahoma and will be moving back to kansas to be with my family and I"ll find a job there.  Will me not having any income by the time our interview takes place be bad? I wil have co-sponsorship, but myself I only have a little savings.  Please let me know.

So we had our interview on Jan. 29th in Vancouver, and got approved! YAY! We were told we would receive the visa in 3-5 business days.

 

As of today we haven't received an email.  I checked our case on CEAC and as of today is states it is in Administrative Processing.  This is what I was fearing because I've read horror stories of it being in there for months....is this normal?
