Hi! Yes, she will need her UAE police clearance, it's called the Good Conduct Certificate there. That will be valid for three months only so she can get it once she knows her interview date already. Where is she living in UAE? If she's in Dubai, she just needs to go to the Dubai Police Headquarters.

I guess all I can do now is wait. It'll probably take me a while to track the status online since I had to use a money order, but oh well. I just got out of a horrible job and got a new job that starts September 5th, so hopefully that will keep me occupied long enough to not go crazy over it.

hmmm didn't know they stick it outside the envelope...i'm assuming it's in another envelope right? cuz i find it strange that they would mail something of such importance in plain view. I'll make sure she knows not to open the envelope. thanks roy!


I'm not sure if they stick it outside the envelope, but she will surely receive a sealed envelope and she must not open that.

If she plan to go to the CFO seminar (it's a requirement, otherwise she won't be let out of the country!) before she goes for her interview, she will need her original passport for that.

She can also attend the CFO seminar after she gets approved, that way, she can get the certificate and the sticker stamped on her passport the same day. Just make sure she attends the 10am session to get everything done in one day. They won't give her the sticker unless she has her visa already.

ok, here's hopefully a simple question for ya.

my fiancee has to fly to Manila to do her interview. From what i've heard from a few threads, the consular officer keeps the passport and sends it back to my fiancee with the visa, am i correct? If so, how does my fiancee travel back home without it? wouldn't she need it for ID purposes? also, wouldn't she need it to fill out any customs and immigration forms on the plane ride over? lemme know if I'm not making any sense. thanks for any inputs


Her passport will already be surrendered to St. Luke's at the time of her medical, so she won't even have it with her when she goes for the interview. Make sure she has copies of her passport already when she goes for her medical.

Uhm... where is your fiancee flying from? If it's anywhere from the Phils, she won't be needing to fill out any customs or immigration form. Her passport is not really necessary as it's only a domestic flight and she can use other IDs for that.

However, if she will have her passport & visa documents delivered to the province, that will take a lot longer than having it delivered to a hotel or wherever she is staying in manila.

Hi! I know how it feels about not being able to produce the embassy required documents. But don't worry too much. :)

It's possible (i'm not sure what country you're in) to have your BC registered late. Just find out what documents you need to file a late registration.

Then make a copy of the complete set and bring it with you to you interview (together with your registered BC).. they can be your supporting docs for the late registration.

My BC was registered late also.

Or if it's not possible, the link that Shalz gave will help you.

Hi there! The vaccination is included in the medical fee.

Do not worry if she does not have records of her vaccinations. She will get a blood test there that will determine that. There are vaccines that are not age appropriate so she won't be getting those.

During her vaccination interview, she will be asked if she wants to get the vaccination there or get it when she arrives here in the US. I would suggest her getting it there since it is already included in the medical fee. However, there is one vaccine that is not available in the Phils., that is the TD vaccine. She has to get that done here in order to complete the vaccination requirements for the AOS.

It is possible for your daughter to obtain an f-1 student visa to study at a US public school (high school): http://www.travel.st...types_1269.html. I've had several friends go through the rotary club of VAncouver or other private organizations that setup study abroad/exchange programs for high school students (Google is an excellent researching tool). Be aware, though, that an f-1 does carry some drawbacks (i.e. I know for a college f-1, upon completing his/her program, the student must exit and not return tot he US for a period of two years. I'm not sure if this stipulation applies to an f-1 public school student visa). Furthermore, your daughter would be entering as a nonimmigrant, but with the intent to become a permanent immigrant (as you are currently going through the K-1 process). This may also cause problems, but please research further.

Don't give up, keep searching for ways to get your daughter into the states. Hopefully your k-1 goes through in time, allowing your daughter to enter and be with you and her future step mother come fall.

- Hello VJ'ers, I'm hoping someone will be able to help us out.

We're having my Finacee's Father sponsor our K-1 process and have a question on que. 9: "I have previously submitted affidavit(s) of support for the following person(s). If none, state none."

He sponsored me last year for a J-1 summer work visa, however, an I-134 form was NOT filled out. As I recall, it was a much less formal form that didn't request any evidence on income status or taxation histories. In fact, it was a simple: "yes, I agree to sponsor ____ _____ for a J-1 visa."

My question is, does this qualify as a previous affidavit of support? I assume it wouldn't, as the I-134 is an affidavit of support and the other form for my J-1 was not an I-134.

Also, white-out was used on the form as some mistakes were made. Is this acceptable? I'm guessing it is since it is notarized.

Hey, congrats to hear it worked (phoning your rep.). However, you do know that you didn't need to wait for packet 3 to be sent to you from the embassy? You could have printed off the forms off the website and sent in your own packet 3 before receiving theirs so you don't have to wait a long, long time for them to send it out.
Of course, this is after you know they have received your approved petition from NVC.

I was one of three K-1 applicants present for the K-1 interview... the other two both had lawyers and both received wrong advice (i.e. that they can work once the enter and that they didn't need originals at the interview (i.e. birth certificate). Their visa's were significantly delayed... sad.gif . I met another lady who paid 5k for a lawyer and she was on month 16 waiting for her K-1 to process. Neither of these applicants heard of VJ, adn when I recommended it to them, they all said they would still trust a lawyer... Maybe i'm a poor spokeperson, but VJ has save my fiancee and I great headaches......

Don't fret about this. When your NOA2 is issued, the case is automatically fwd: to the NVC and from there to the beneficiary's consulate or embassy. You will receive Packet 3 whether your NOA2 is received or not (although the NOA2 is needed for the interview). Hopefully you two will be together when you receive word from the consulate that your case has safely arrived (packet 3).

Yes, I was thinking the same. If we were denied, they should have sent Notice of Denial, right..?

Since it says pending i would imagine from looking at the gallery pics it has to be a possible RFE, needing further info. But at least there touching your file thats the good news and you can get your hard copy and see what they need then be approved. It may be that G-325 sig. we talked about.

I last flew into Cairo egypt in Feb. 09, I got the tourist visa in the airport bank exchange for 15.00 not a big deal. Was there 3 times last year and did the same except on our marriage I did get a residence stamp on my passport for a month time frame, that was done in Cairo near the Ministry of Justice. I think that was like 20LE. Good info to know I could take our marriage papers and get for free, I just never want the hassle so have always just paid the 15.00 USD cash only excepted.
