Divorce Decree of Petitioner needed for NVC

This is my first marriage but my girlfriend who filed K-1 with her husband in Egypt sent just a copy of her divorce to NVC only and those were forwarded to embassy in Cairo and when the interview came in June they asked her husband for the orginall divorce papers. So she sent them DHL to him ($65.00) then he had to send it with the paper they gave him from the embassy and his passport back to the embassy, now they are in AP and after her email she recieved yesterday from Cairo Embassy the paperwork has went back to the NVC. So if you have orginall divorce paper I would send it to prevent anything delaying the process. Just my input.

We're in the same boat coasting along, but must be all for a reason. We have an extra 6 months now to wait, I wish I could say im a hurry like I was when Ahmed was to be released today but now with the possible 6 months added, I guess were not in a hurry, more like worried about petitons being on time frames to have to refile. I will say this I look at the website daily and am very happy to see all the approvals comming through. So I just keep flying to Egypt to see my husband on his breaks and we make due the best we can.

I think I would venture to agree with this, Im always looking at the country name that has passed me by and I have only found one this past I think it was friday that was from Egypt. But who knows there may be no method to their madness. Lizz, my hubby just printed his name in english to where it was legible. They accepted it with no problem!

So no release on Oct. 1 for you either? It sucks in what there doing. The DS-3032 is the choice of agent that way you can have all the papers sent to you instead of Egypt. They perfer you to have someone in the states as the world mail is not reliable.

DS-3032, husband signing name in native alphabet...

Must we have a letter from our bank or is the bank statement showing our funds good enough?

Liz it's going to be ok, the transcripts even though you ordered them I assume with the auto mated IRS, you can also request them to fax them to you as well to get them faster. As far as the bank statements is only needed if your not above the poverty guidelines and need to show additional funds. If you have had an ongoing job that keeps you above the poverty guidelines you will just need the 3 transcrips the I-864ez otherwise if getting a sponser it will be the I-864.

As far as the ds-3032 you can email the template from his email address, that you can find on james shortcuts a great format for that. And with the native name it is supposed to go in where just asked for that, my husband printed his signiture on the bottom of the form. Who knows though you may be ok. Just be ready for the 230 where it asks for his signiture on part one not part 2 that he will sign at the embassy at the time of interview. Also on page one of the 230 it asks for there native full name Question 3, and page 2 at the bottom that will be his signiture, I had my husband do his in english. Not sure if that really matters. Should I send my husband copies of all the packets I've sent to both USCIS and the NVC for him to have on his interview?

Very good idea, I have made copies of everything even the paid reciepts from the bills at the NVC, my last visit in August I gave him his duplicate package as I have seen on the interviews in Egypt from one that the NVC hadnt sent there case to the Embassy so if he has all the documents in case he will have back up. You can read the in the Egypt reviews to see what Im talking about in the case of the NVC package not arriving when the interview date was.

Praise Jesus!! We were approved this morning in Rio. We are so happy and thrilled. The interview was painless and very fast as my wife was the first one in line.

Great News from Lawyer!!

Well, as most of you know I've been struggling with the stresses of my petition . I mean, I've been spreading my personal business all over this site like butter on toast

After talking to several VJ members I decided to seek the consultation of an immigration lawyer. I found a lawyer on the internet who does free consultations. I told him my story and concerns of IMBRA. He told me to relax!!! he said they are looking for domestic violence and the law is mostly geared towards people who met through a marriage broker. He asked how we met?, in states, no problem! he asked if this is my first petition? yes, no problem! He asked what the convictions were? DUI's, no problem! He said Police records do not come certified in the state of Maryland and the certified court records showing charges and disposition should be good enough. If they even feel the need to investigate further (knowing the nature of the crimes he doubts it) they can get all the information they want. He said it's a good thing I sent in the Police records I had anyway, it shows intent.

He said they may take longer to adjudicate my petition because of extra name checks and the possible investigation of other "hits", but since the other "hits" are not listed as "specified crimes" they will be ok. He said at the end of the day my petition should be approved. That was music to my ears!!

If worse comes to worse (which I'm not worried about anymore) I talked to the Embassy in Poland and the lawyer about DCF. They said there would be no problems of convictions for the petitioner in that visa process. I also don't have to be a resident, just physically present to file.

so, I think I might actually get some work done today

Amending pending I-129F to change consulate

Hey sillygirl, similar situation here, although I am hoping my fiance goes through the interview in Dubai, UAE. Why did you change? Guessing you moved back to Manilla, but was it planned or what?

Curious is all. I would guess the process (in theory, practice looks pretty random) would be quicker from Dubai than Manila. Just a hunch though!

Something came up and had to go home. As expected, my employer wasn't too happy about what I did and banned me. I can't go back to UAE anymore.

The timeline in Manila isn't bad. It's just three months form the time the Manila embassy got our petition to the interview date. That way, I get to spend more time with my family and get the necessary documents that i will need for the interview and whatever else i may need when I get to US. It's difficult getting everything if I stayed in UAE.

Also, here, Filipinos will be the panel of physicians. That's more comforting than having to face other nationals for my medical (no offense folks). B)

Consulate = Major city

This is not to be decided by you. It is determined by the geographical location of your Fiance.

Don't worry about it, unless your Fiance has moved recently. If so, change her address with USCIS.

Embassy in Mexico for the K-1 interview.

It's an option to relocate in Mexico so we can be closer together. The lawyer said we need a mailing address in Mexico to do that.

Let me see if i got this right... ur fiancee will be moving from manila to mexico and you want her to have her interview in Mexico?

If that's the case, you can send a fax to the service center where you filed your petition informing them of the change. Instead of forwarding it to Manila embassy, they will forward it to the embassy in Mexico.

That's what my fiance did. I was supposed to have my interview in Dubai, UAE and then later change it to Manila before the petition got approved. However, the real cliff hanger there was waiting if they will actually send the approved petition to the right place because it was impossible to talk to someone and confirm that they got our faxed request.
