K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresGetting through customs on a visit
I know what UK customs can be like i had to argue with them for the release of my fiancée (girlfriend at the time) when she got pulled over to be secondary questioned. I am worried about the next time she comes to visit but personally the fact that we are now engaged and have applied for the K1 gives me more confidence about her being admitted, because apart from the evidence I always tell her to bring i.e. payslips bank statements etc. (she didn’t listen last time though) now she will also be able to say yes I am visiting my fiancé but I clearly have no intention of staying as we have applied to get married and for him to live in the U.S.
Along with evidence of commitments in the U.S. and a copy of your NOA1 they shouldn’t have any grounds for denying entry.
I always think its a bad idea to lie to customs/boarded patrol although don’t get me wrong I wouldn’t, and I don’t advise you to volunteer information to them. Just say you are visiting friends of the family or family (not really lying either way) and only answer the questions they ask. What I have mentioned above would be my advice if they take you into secondary questioning.
But I wouldn’t worry too much as long as you've been out of the U.S. before and especially to the U.K. you shouldn’t have a problem. unless you mean by "a hard time" as secondary questioning in which case ive been told by them that they will hassle you again.

Just my opinions and experiences i hope it helps good.gif timeline.gif

The Immigration timelines are just averages. Your best bet is to get tha petition submitted and maintain your relationship as best you can.

Also no time like now to start to look ahead for what will be required at the interview.

Also no time like now to start to plan when you two are together.

Yeah im just trying to keep my head down and not think about how long its gona take, i just know that if it does take longer then the timeline suggests that is gona really upset my fiancé, part of me wish's that the timeline wasn’t there to tease us unsure.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 NOA2 Processing estimates
Hello everybody,
I've been watching my NOA2 Processing estimates go steadily down and down over the last couple of weeks, from something like the twenty something-ish of January. Down to at the moment, the twenty eighth of November which if accurate will mean approval (fingers crossed) in just under four months! And it just seems to be reducing every couple of days. Are they really catching up that quickly?! Or is it still taking an average of five months.
Im assuming this as been the case for everybody else, I just dont want to get my hopes up to much (like my fiancé has) until I know its fact, Im already struggling being so far away from the Love of my life and the absolute centre of my world sad.gif (Like im sure all of you are separated by miles of ocean) Without being given maybe false hope about the length of that separation:clock: .
Although I know every case is different and some people have waited ALOT longer then 5months I just wanted to see what everybody else thought?.
Peace love and happiness my fellow VJ'ers good.gif

Is one visit enough to pass the interview at the Philippines. We met online at the end of February 2009. I visited in May 2009 for 10 days. We were together the whole time. We were formally engaged with an engagement party. I gave her a ring. I think i have enough proof of ongoing relationship. YM chat records for everyday, phone bills, emails, and 100's of pictures. I have a limited amount of vacation time. We both thought saving the time for when she arrives to adjust here and get kids enrolled in school would be better use of time than another visit. I plan to make the trip there to bring her back to the USA, and then have a week off. But I'm wondering if I need to make a trip for her interview to make sure there is more than one visit.

Only 6 months chatting online and 'one' 10 day visit. Yes, that's enough to get the petition approved, but I'd say you'd want to visit a few more, times just for your own relationship to develope more than anything else. There's NO substitute for spending face-2-face time together.

True story.
I would have thought you'd wana spend as much face 2 face time with the person your gona be spending the rest of life with as possible + she may not have asked but she might really appreciate you being there for support at the time of her interview if you're able to make the trip

the above post is correct, i thought id add you have to apply for ur SSN while the K-1 visa is still valid, otherwise you will have to wait till you get ur EAD card a couple of months after the AOS application

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThe Medical and the Vaccines you need to get

Tetanus is every 10 years.

Chicken pox they don't vaccinate if you have already had it. For this they would mark VH on the immigration medical. VH means you have history of having it.

MMR only needs to be boosterd if you show a low immunity when you have a titer test done by the doctor.

with the MMR you have to have had three doeses as an adult. i was told by the doctor at Knightsbridge. ive just had to have one more (making three) for my AOS, im still wearing the badaid to prove it :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThe Medical and the Vaccines you need to get

Hmm thats weird.. My doctor gave me all the jabs again last year when i told him I was moving to america. Maybe you should try and change doctors and get a second opinion.

I agree try going to a different doctors.when i told my doctor what jabs i needed and that i was going to the US to live he refused to give me any shots (even tho i was overdue for a tetanus and MMR jab). dont worry to much if you think ur missing some because as far as im aware the knightsbridge doctors can administer most of them (for a price), but having some kind of vac's record is important or you will have to have them all again when you get here!! but bare in mind you dont have to have any to come over to the US, but you DO have to have them all by the time you apply for residency. turned out none of that mattered for me as the USCIS lost all my medical record when they transfered my AOS to cali and i had to go and see a civil surgeon.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRFE missed Criminal Conviction part
i would answer no. one because you wernt convicted by a court of law as the wording states, and two because the crime is not in that list.
the question does not ask have you committed any crime in the last x amount of time. now if it did i wouldn't lie, but it doesn't so i dont see why you would have to mention it.
