K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresis my fiance a fraud?

Kristina,
I am so sorry that the tactic of offering to move there to Jamaica to be with him didn't work out in the best possible way. Part of me was hoping that he would turn around and be impressed that you would be willing to do that to be with him and he would turn loving and rational again.
At least you have more information now about what he wants and his character. Take care of yourself...

this is some messed up ish dude's trying damage control, he realize his only chance is crumbling right at his feet. No dude should tell his/her fiancee that he/she is bugging him regardless of what country he/she is from. This should be one of the happiest times of your lives(at least for us) and if you cant be happy now, when is it going to happen?? the worst part is past and he is about a month away from setting foot on american soil, something he tried to do 7 times before and fail. If he is dealing with you like that now and he is in Jamaica. what is he gonna do there?
i find it hard that he starts talking about money and all when the exchange rate of USD to JMD is favorable here. Dudes tryna play you ma, your not the first and wont be the last, its up to you to take the risk on something you have serious doubt about

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresis my fiance a fraud?
im going to be frank, im a jamaican man and if your really feeling what you said you are, chances are that your right and its best to end the relationship and withdraw the petition. No normal person in jamaica apply for a Visitor Visa 7 times just because he wants to visit. A friend of mine went twice and he got denied and dont wanna go back.....now 7 times seems a bit strange. All you just need to email the consulate @(KingstonIV@state.gov) and make sure you put in the case# in the subject line telling them you want to case close because you suspect you might be a victim of immigration fraud and they will contact you within a day or two. Makes no sense dealing with that stress in the USA, a lot of these guys dont care, they just want the visa which is a gateway to the US, after which they can survive on their own because of the large jamican community there in places. I was surprise to learn of the amount of undocumented jamaicans living there right now. Thank God for VJ it helps a lot of people to see the light

Oh thank u very much . . . we are all waiting in line for our medical . . . so if I understand you correctly it was a total of $110 (american) for everything . . . start to finish? Then you get your results in a sealed envelope to be taken to the interview? Very helpful indeed.

The total cost for my medical was 15 500 JMD or 180 USD. i only had to get two shots which came up to 70 USD. the rest was for the general medical and people. go to the medical expecting to spend all day. its a 4-5 hour process depending on work load and how much peeps are there. Gladly when i went, there wasnt any big family with kids. cause they have to do a physical for everyone and it takes the same time.

First off, did you even read the instuctions to the I-129F petition? It clearly states that one of the requirements is that you must have met (physically) at least once within the past 2 years. You should never have filed in the first place. They didn't even look at any evidence you sent them once they saw that you had never met. I can't imagine what kind of proof you sent in for somebody you've never met. Most of us who met our fiancees usually has sme worries about having enough proof, but never meeting?

Nigeria is one of the top fraud countries. I assume you are now aware of this fact and you would still attempt to bring over a person who you have never met? I know you believe all that "God knows best" stuff, but you are setting yourself up big time. You seem to be a perfect mark; somebody who seems to be somewhat naive and blindly accepts whatever happens. If this guy plays you, you will probably be here telling us how it was God's plan.

How did you meet? Who made the first contact?
What kind of work does he do? Have you seen any proof? (I will not give my opinion on what I think he does for a living; yes, it's a generalization, but lets be real)
What is the age difference between you two? Are you fairly close in age or is he much younger? If the latter, that should be a red flag for you.

I already know that nothing anybody here says will change your mind (most people have to learn the hard way), especially since you think God will protect you, but I hope you are not back here in a year teling us how you were used.

WELL SAID.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresis my fiance a fraud?

OP, from the details in your opening post, his behavior is indeed of concern. However, an even bigger alarm is this: who would apply for so many tourist visas -- and keep applying and applying and applying -- without having very serious immigrant intent? Most people would give up after a couple of denials, three at most -- but he persisted.

I know someone in Jamaica who applied every year for 11 straight years. She finally got it in year 11 and took about 4 years to finally travel on it.

Strange things do happen.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresJoint Sponsor

Hi all well here is my issue my husband had his interview on 6/14/2010 and I was told that in JA they only use ur recent tax returns which was 2009 and I was laided off for most of 2009 so my tax return showed below the poverty level I was confused because I had called the NCV numerous times to see if that would be a problem and they said no because my income now is well over what is required I submitted 6 months paystubs, job letter, 2007,2008,2009 w-2's and tax reurns and my child support award letter. Well no I have to find a joint sponsor I was going to use my dad but now I realized that the house number is the same but he lives upstairs and I live downstairs. I call the NVC they say call the Embassy I called and they say they don't take phone calls, I emailed and got different answers 3 times. Does anyone one know anything about this and also does the joint sponsor have to be family and or live in the same state? Any help is appreciated. thanks

Awwe Honey, It seems like each Co at the embassies have their own requirements. I did my interview in February and I only furnished them with my husband's 2006 and 2007 tax return ,cause he had not filed any taxes for 2008& 2009 as he was unemployed the end of 08-mid 09, and I was approved on spot. I am assuming they didn't give me hard time with about the taxes cause his salary for the few month he was employed in 09-2010 had exceeded the poverty guideline.

They seem to have such double standard at that place, but based on my understanding from reading the guide on USCIS you shouldn't have a problem using you're dad as a Co sponsor. Good luck and I hope the embassy can confirm this for you, if you're still unsure, please ensure you take a copy of all the e-mail correspondence with them.

If she is divorced then she should give you a copy of her divorce decree as evidence of the name change. I think once you have that then you'll be fine. Good luck.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCertified copies?

We're at the DS-230 doc collection stage. YAY! *does happy dance*

For the documents, it asks for originals or certified copies. Does certified mean copies provided by the issuing agency (birth certificates, marriage and divorce certificates, etc), or can I make copies of the docs and have them notarized here in the states?

Photocopies WILL NOT be accepted. Certified copies means getting a certified copy from the issuing agency with the agency's stamp or seal. Good luck on your journey.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHelp Before Filing

Quick question:

I'm going to be sending in my k-1 petition on Friday. I just wanted to know if the AoS is included in this original filing or if you do that closer to the date of the interview for my fiance. I'm terrified that I am going to send in this application and they are going to say things are missing or take my payment and say, "too bad, you don't qualify." I'm so nervous about not doing it correctly.

how much luck have you girls had with getting your S.Os from Jordan here??

The K-1 and AOS are two separate filing. You will need to file the AOS after your fiancée/fiancé is in the country and you have gotten married. Don't worry too much about missing a document' if you do, you'll receive a RFE and as long as you provide what is requested in the alloted time-frame your case will resume processing.

Good luck on your journey.

Does your husband present income meets the income requirement for the number of depends that he will be supporting? The income requirement is set by the proverty level income.

Thank you for your response...i don't think my husband income meets the requirement of the numbers of Dependants that he will be supporting..am the only one he will be supporting but he was out of work for a year...and did not make enough money for 2009 so that's why his attorney suggest we use a co sponsor for the CR1 visa paperwork.

If you read the instructions on the I-864, a lot of your questions will be answered. The co-sponsor does not need assets (although you can list them on the I-864) and does not have to be a family member. They do have to be a US citizen, US national or permanent resident. Here are the income requirements. http://www.uscis.gov...form/i-864p.pdf

Who told you that you are going to need a co-sponsor? Look at the link to see if you may qualify. Keep in mind that you can also use certain assets to qualify, although they have to be worth 3 times the income requirement.

thank you for your response...to answer your question of how i was told that i will be needing a co sponsor?my Husband was told by his attorney that he's gonna need a co sponsor for our CR1 visa case.

Good day to you all.
I have been going nuts for the past couple of days ever since i was told by my husband that we are gonna need a co sponsor.so I am here by seeking some information about the co-sponsor for CR1 visa.I have been told by my husband that in order for us to file for a CR1 visa we are gonna need a co-sponsor...but i would like to know the requirements that a co-sponsor should posses to be qualify for the case?i would like to know if the co-sponsor has to be a family member ?i also need to know if the co-sponsor has to own a home? or any other assets or valuable possession.i am just seeking sufficient information has to what a person need to have or fulfilled in order to be a co-sponsor?cause so far it is very hard to get someone to be our co-sponsor.one more thing i need to know...me and my husband would like to know what else we can do in the case if we can't get someone to be our co-sponsor....we need to know what will happen if we don't find a co-sponsor? I was wondering if the embassy will deny my visa.... but, then what? Do we start the process over? or pay more money to have it re-open. Do we have to wait until next year so that my my husband taxes will look better?
waiting patiently for your reply.

He would need to have the difference of his income and the poverty level income times 5. So lets say the poverty level says he needs to be making $24,000 a year and his last year returns said he only made $22,000. The difference of $2000 he would need to have at least $10,000 in his account to satisfy immigrations requirements. I hope this paints a better picture for you.

Good day to all.
about two (2) months ago i was desperately seeking co sponsor...now my search is over...what a relief for me..i eventually got one of my cousin to be my co sponsor...she already sign and submit the required documents to my husband attorney which will then be sent to the NVC later on once my attorney gets all the required documents and paperwork...along with my husband payment to the NVC...now am just waiting on my husband do his part.my question is now that i eventually have a co sponsor who makes way more over the poverty level ...does my husband still need to prove Immigrations that he's financially stable?because my aunt from Canada told me that my husband will need money in his bank account...like over $2000USD to show to immigration that he can support me...is any of this true?despite having a co sponsor he now has a new job that he started working last month..but he hasn't save anything from it yet and he doesn't have money in any of his bank accounts...so am wondering if this would be a problem by the time the CR1 visa paperwork is process...I just don't want any problems or complications when i go for my interview....so i need to know if my aunt is telling the truth?
