CaribbeanWhat should be done while awaiting NOA2 approval??

Hello everyone!

I am a little bit over 2 months now awaiting the arrival of my NOA2.I was wondering what i should be doing or what other forms i can obtain and prepare in the meantime while waiting for NOA2?when i contacted RGD i was told that the no-impediment cost $5500 for 7 working days and $6500 for 3 working days.but i have read on the forum before that it can take up to 2 months. Is this the truth or does things change since 2013 in obtain this document?Does it make much of a difference if i apply for the no-impediment at the head office in Spanish Town instead of the RGD office in my area, would it process any faster?

I have my immunization card, but am needing a new one due to the fact the info is not viewable on the one i have. What other shots can i receive at the clinic?do i need to get a list of the shots and bring it to the health center?I know the police certificate will take about 7 workings days to obtain so am not worry about it.I would like to hear from those who already had gone through this process or further through the process.Any tips or advise would be much appreciate it....Thanks in advance!

Thank you to everyone....this website and people have been very helpful!!!

CaribbeanNon-impediment to marriage in Jamaica

does everyone have to get this certificate or just divorced individuals?

all K1 beneficiary should apply for the no-impediment whether they are single or divorce.

CaribbeanNon-impediment to marriage in Jamaica

I would apply once you get NOA2 - They do expire, so you don't want to get it too far in advance and have to do it again.

thanks for the advise!

CaribbeanNon-impediment to marriage in Jamaica

It does not matter male or female, any JA resident (or beneficiary) must have the non-impediment certificate.   The certificate takes a while to obtain, so it is important that you apply for ASAP.  It is expensive as well.  $5000  JMD

http://www.rgd.gov.jm/

how far in the process should one apply for the no-impediment?am close to 2 months wait for NOA2.

CaribbeanNon-impediment to marriage in Jamaica

Yes, it is the only verification that you are free and legally able to marry that they will accept.  Otherwise, your petition will be denied.

Is this fa real?I am earlier in the K1 process and at some point in time i might have to apply for the no-impediment as well.even though in my situation i don't believe it proves anything.I could have certain that the No-impediment that the registrar general department (rgd) issue proves that a person has "NEVER" been married, maybe i got it all wrong.if i do someone please correct me.in my case am divorce.the no-impediment would indicate a marriage found and i was told by a staff at rgd that i still would need to provide my divorce decree at the interview and this info cannot be updated in their system.anyone know anything about this?

CaribbeanUpdated Jamaica Checklist

Thank you this is helpful....but my fiancée electronically submitted the ds-160 and now I heard we need to scan embassy the ds-230 but then I was told I was set???? Help please!

did you contact DOS and was told you had an interview date set?if that's the case, then you wouldn't need to submit the DS230.

I'm glad they responded to you. I will prepare those forms and email them to my fiance tonight. Did they give you an interview? they should still have some November dates open

it's all weird they responded to an email i sent October 22 which was 3 days ago.I was asking them which form do i need to use in order to schedule my interview between the DS160,DS230 & DS260.they clearly stated the DS230 along with the other forms that needed for the interview.I email the DS230 & DS160 yesterday evening as i was unsure of what form they were needing.they never respond to that email i sent yesterday, but i resend the email today a minute after i receive their reply.later this evening my status update to today's date but i don't know what it means.I hope they will have my interview date by next week...*fingers crossed*

Do we still fill out the DS-156, 157 156k after the DS-160? or did the DS-160 replace the other 3 forms?

I received a reply from the embassy today, I was told to complete DS230 part 1 & part 2,along with DS156,DS156K & DS157 prior to my interview.

The Police Certificate and the Certificate of Non-impediment takes about 5 - 30 days to receive.  You can work on immunization shots.  From other VJers, they say that their own shot record was verified at a clinic and accepted at medical.

ok,thanks but what about the DS230,I thought i saw someone mention it before for K1?

VietnamNOA2 received?

Hi everyone, I received my NOA1 on Feb 07,2011. Now I just received NOA2 in the mail today. The notice date on the form says approved May 17,2011. I was expecting about 5-6 months for approval from USCIS and didn't expect it to be approve this early. Well I'm very happy, so what happens now? Case get forward to NVC, how long? Anyone have any feedback on an estimate how long it will take until my wife gets an interview date? Thanks everyone. Oh another question for whoever can answer for me. How come when I start a topic and when I view my own topic, I don't see my timeline in the discussion page?

CaribbeanWaiting for an interview

Kingston is still requesting the DS-230 along with the DS-260 online. Kingston will not schedule an interview unless they receive a mailed signed DS-230 or a signed scanned email copy(preferred) of a completed DS-230. Kingston usually takes about 7 days to respond to emails

CaribbeanDivorce

she also would like to know about how much it will cost her

I'm married to a USC and still in Jamaica is why am able to obtain a divorce in Jamaica,as for your friend i can't say the same thing. Annulment maybe cheaper and have a shorter time frame to finalize but you have to have a grounds for it and must be proven in court, annulment is much more difficult to obtain than a divorce.I don't think much lawyers in Jamaica practice annulment ..they always recommend to have a divorce done instead.the cost for divorce varies depending on the lawyer and the situation.it can be anywhere from $80,000JMD upwards.have your friend get in touch with a Jamaican lawyer.

CaribbeanGreat Hotels
sandals itself doe'nt admit kids but Beaches which is owned by Sandals is considered their family compound so to speak. beaches is a great family hotel! all inclusive and a mini water park for the kids.also playground for the liitle kids and daycare facilities too.its a bit pricey tho as all sandals are.for something a little less u can try Sunsent Beach Resort and Spa in montego bay.great family hotel also with water slides, little kids playground and daycare.
those are the 2 family hotels we have tried so far.they are both great, check out their website for prices :)

Most taxi drivers in Jamaica tends to get themselves mixed up with the school children, first to think about the music that they have in their car, most schoolas takes the car with the music, second they like the idea of getting quick cash, but mark this they are some little caniving schoolas out there that will make u think different as well.

BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!! How do you not want to take care of your own childPosted ImageThis is very serious, although a common assault in Jamaica once their previous relationship is not working out, and it involves children, they back out, no offense guys!!! But you have more single parenting in Jamaica than family oriented settings ask RICARDO!!!!!!!!
