he has to take the 110 USD for the overall medical. that is the cost @ Hope in Mobay. After that, he will have to pay for any shots he will have to get. If he dont have any immunization record, he NEED to walk with an additional 20000 JMD. good luck

you have to wait where everyone else wait. he will need to clear immigration and then get his bag and proceed to customs before you will have any contact with him.

CaribbeanDENIED

I have an UPDATE. My fiance was contacted by the embassy by phone around 4pm. They called him, blocked number, it was a man. He said that he was sorry about today and they are going to generate a new interview date for him to come back in. The "system" will print it off and it will be mailed to him, he should receive his new appointment date letter within 2 weeks. He said that he will need to return with more proof and bring more pictures. Make sure to write the dates on them. He said just bring pictures and it does not necessarily have to be pictures of us together, it could be ones of me alone at my house that I send to him. He does not have to do any of the forms or fees again; only pictures or proof. I do not understand and I do not get it, but hey, at this point, we will take anything they want to give us. So now, more waiting...

:wow: im really happy for you. Send as much pictures as possible this time, they not gonna keep them so you dont have to worry about losing them. Good luck

I'm really sorry to hear that. Base on my personal experience, the co didn't ask me for a single piece of evidence of our relationship. ( unreal right) she made up her mind base on how I answered her questions. One of the most important thing is being confident in his answers and answer the questions correctly cause chances are, they might have there little doubts. Its possible the co might be one of those havin a bad day and just decide to take it out on him. Your best option right now is to make plans to get married and do the spousal visa, if what you said is true about the reason they are denying him and take corrective measures next time. Good luck and keep your head up

CaribbeanAFTER THE INTERVIEW?????

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW LONG IT TAKES THE JAMAICAN EMBASSY TO HAVE THE ACTUAL VISA TO THE PERSON AFTER THEIR INTERVIEW? AND IS IT BEST TO TELL THEM AT THE INTERVIEW THAT YOU DO HAVE TRAVEL PLANS? ALSO WONDERING IF IT IS BEST FOR ME TO HAVE HIM PICK IT UP AT DHL OR HAVE THEM SEND IT? REALLY TRYING TO GET SOME SORT OF IDEA ON WHEN THINGS SHOULD BE READY BECAUSE IVE JUST STARTED A NEW JOB AND I CANT GET ANY TIME OFF TO PICK HIM UP SO IVE PLANNED FOR THE 1ST WEEKEND IN FEB

Be prepared to wait about 2 weeks to get the visa after the interview if everything go alright. You can only pick up the visa at the DHL located in New Kingston or Mobay, thats the only pick up option. You just have to see what works best for you. The embassy wont be able tot tell you when its gonna be ready. DO NOT MAKE TRAVEL PLANS BEFORE THE VISA IS IN HAND. THEY MAKE ERRORS SOMETIMES AND U HAVE TO RETURN IT TO GET IT SORTED OUT

USCIS Service CentersVSC Processing
i wish i could stay away from visa journey. Especially since the time is drawing close to looking for a ticket to go back home. it was really motivating last month when we were seeing a steady stream of NOA2 coming in, now its like u have to hope and pray each day to see a NOA2 :(

I would really like to know what exactly is going on at the Service Center @ Vermont. Approvals have really slowed. Im sitting here with my Fiance in the US sitting on my B1 visa with a little over a month remaining on my I-94 of my vacation wondering what the hell is happening. It would really help if there was some comforting news this week

this is really messed up, same thing we were running from, and we ended up getting approved but havent gotten the NOA2 letter yet. We assumed it was sent to the old address. We changed it one day, the next day we got approved. Now all we gotta do is sit and wait on USCIS to tell us if they got it back or not to send it to the current address :(

there is no way to tell who is going to be faster at the time you file. When we filed, the average wait was 3.5 to 4 months @ VSC, now its closer to 200 days than anything

Its easy to get a TRN once he never had one before. im not sure if he needs his birth certificate but he needs to fill out a application form there and he will get a temp card until the permanent one is ready. he should be able to conduct business with it. Dont understand still, how is it that he has a passport, but no TRN, did he lost his or cant find it?

PS. Dont rush to get the police record, dont wanna get it too early. wait until you get NOA2. then he will have enough time..........just my advice still
[/quote

If he got the passport as a minor he would not have needed a TRN at that time. anyway its easy to get one. He should go to the Tax office and they will tell him what to do.

CaribbeanHighlights from Jamaica Trip (venting)

Hi yall, I am home from my trip with my future . . . and wanted to share my experience. Basically, I had a good time and I am just as much in love as ever. He is a wonderful guy and I am sure that once he gets to america we will fit together well like a needle and thread. I wanted to thank everyone for telling me about that bus service from Kingston. It was comfortable, reliable and clean . . . I took it from Ochie to Kingston.

Let me tell you about what happened on the flight down . . . while 30 minutes into the flight from Fla to Jamaica the plane developed engine problems and as a procaution we were forced to turn around and return to Fla. Once on the ground we have to wait another 2 hours for a different plane to arrive to complete the trip. This significant delay through off all of my travel arrangments from Kingston to Ochie (that I had planned so well in advance). I met the taxi cab driver, from On time taxi, a Mr. Vernon . . . well, first because the plane was so delayed he wanted to charge me extra . . like it was my fault. Mr. Vernon indicated that I would not make the last bus from Kingston and suggested that I take the city bus . . . WRONG MOVE. He dropped me off at the Kingston "bus" terminal in downtown. Now anyone who has been at this place knows that it is just a gathering place where buses pick up people. It looked like a cross between a trash dump and a swap meet. I was like a fish out of water. Me with my shiny suitcase, laptop and other items which showed that I had just got off of a plane. . . anyways, I waited and when the "bus" finally did show up the people rushed it like a wild animals . . . I have NEVER seen anything like it. There was NO orderly NOTHING. People were sitting on top of each other and squeezed up. I was afraid they were going to steal my luggage cause I one point I was in the bus and my stuff was out . . . .anyways, I got mad and pushed my way off and went and got another taxi to take me to Spanish Town where I caught a "van". This taxi driver was very nice and did not just drop me off . . . actually, spoke to the van driver and explained the situation. Well, you know that because I had luggage I had to pay double and we waited an additional 40 minutes for the entire van to fill up before we left . . . I finally arrived to my guy (who was pissed off and worried, cause he felt I should have let my future brother in law pick me up for $100 US) about 9:30 p.m. Otherwise, I had a great time and looking forward to seeing him again in October . . . missing him . . :crying: (F) (L) :luv:

He was right. It would have been better if you had paid the US$100 be be picked up from the airport and taken to Ocho Rios. No hassle and headaches. you would have also saved a lot of time. I dont agree with the suggestion that you should have used Knutsford Express bus service because they do not pick you up from the airport. You would have to take something from the airport to go to Knutsford Office to get the bus. Hope its better next time.

CaribbeanHelp with Cell phone

good deal . . did u purchase it here or over there? I guess he could purchase it over there. I will tell him . .

If he just need a phone to talk on with 'no frills' and on the prepaid plan he can get one for as low or lower than US$20 in Jamaica. If he wants a BB or IPhone then thats another matter.

Caribbeanpolice report-timing
I just did mine in Kingston using the express service for $2000 to be ready in 5 working days. The regular services is $1000 to be ready in 21 working days. The fee is paid at any Tax office and he must take his TRN to them to make the payment.

He will need to take his valid passport, Taxpayer Registration Number, Two passport-sized Photographs,Receipt of payment from the Tax office to the Summit Police Station in St James if he wants to do it there. I hear it is usually very crowded there. It was not crowded when I went to Duke Street in Kingston I was in and out in about 1 hour. I was told by a friend who had gone there that it is best to go in the middle of the week and it was true.

I believe it is valid for one year.

According to the embassy:

Individuals will not be issued an immigrant visa if any of the following documents are more than one year old on the date of travel:
* Medical exam results
* Police certificate from your most recent country of residence
* DS-230 immigrant visa application
The US Embassy encourages all immigrant visa applicants to carefully track the age of the documents listed above. If you notice that one of these documents is nearly one year old, you should take the necessary steps to replace it before it expires. If you do not remember to keep these documents current, the processing of your visa will be delayed and you will not be issued an immigrant visa.

CaribbeanBaby's passport?

Does anyone know how long it takes to get a US passport for a baby, her father is a US citizen.

where was the child born? If in the USA you can use the express service which will take less than 2 weeks.

If born in Jamaica he will have to report the birth at the embassy there. The amount of time it takes will depend on if they ask for DNA test because they do that sometimes.

without going the DNA route I think it is about 3 months.

Hope someone who did it recently can tell you about it as well.

CaribbeanK1 Jamaica - Average Times, DHL and Medical

Can one do TB tests at a clinic or so in Kingson Do the have to do it with embassy Dr
Do he have to get more shots his shots recods 4 vaccine he's in his 40s, can lab for
std be done outside also.

Maybe you can get away with doing the shots outside since it will have to be updated on the card.

Everything to do with the medical must be done by the doctors on the list provided by the embassy.

Didn't she use the address on the cover sheet from the portal?

Based on what I've read it will cause some delay but it will end up at the right place eventually. I dont think you need to worry too much. Just call NVC in about ten days to see if it is there as yet.

CaribbeanK1 Jamaica - CoSponsor I 134 Form Original?
Does K-1 use co-sponsor?

You need to check it out because I recently read a thread where the person went to the interview (not Jamaica) and was given a blue slip and told that they have to wait until the sponsor earns at least the minimum amount and the CO mentioned something about 'public charge' and cosponsor cannot be used for K-1.

Hope you get a compassionate CO for the interview who will overlook this.

and always sign every paper yur first name and yur middle and yur last..ALWAYS ,,,PEOPLE DONT REALIZE BUT IN JAMAICA THATS THERE LAW....I KNOW..

no such law.

what is important is that however you sign (especially on your government issued ID) must always be consistent.

CaribbeanJamaica K1 - Medical completed
I am surprised that he had no problem having gotten the shots elsewhere. I saw in another thread the person was told that the embassy would only accept them being given from the doctor doing the medical and they had to go get them again.
