Hey Tam, how exciting! are you nervous about the interview?

Hey Shem ((( waving))) I know it's such a shame but I was waiting for it.......

This is so heartwarming, I stopped watching everything it was such mixed emotions but I am so happy to hear this Praise God!

Hey Philly! Not really nervous I just want it to be over and done with so I join my love.

Den! do you think it will pose a problem at the interview if I use my SO 2007 tax return? He did not file in 2008 as he was going through a transition and was unemployed. He has retained a tax accountant to file both 2008 and 2009 taxes but that will not be completed in time for my interview.

Good morning! :star: So are you planning on attending the ineterview with your SO next month?

-------------------
 I'm actually the beneficiary. But you know how we women love taking charge and be in the know :jest:
Unfortunately, my SO will not be attending the interview because he just started a new job a couple of moths ago, so he's using the little vacation time that he has to fly back with me, and also to spend a few days with me after my arrival and our wedding.

A Jamaican Police stops at a little farm in Sheffield, and talks with the old farmer.

He tells the farmer, "Mi need fe inspect yuh property, mi 'ear say you ah illegally grow ganja pan yu property!."

The old farmer says, "Okay, but don't go ovah dat side ah de field."

The officer verbally explodes, saying, "But wait a rahtid minit, me 'ave de authority ahde Jamaican government wid mi!"

The old farmer nods politely and goes about digging his yam.

Later, the farmer hears loud screams and see the police running for his life, and close behind is the huge bull.

With every step, the bull is gaining ground on the officer.

The officer is clearly terrified.

The old farmer immediately stop digging his yellow yam, runs to the fence, and yells at the top of his lungs,

"Yuh badge, mon.. Show 'im yu rass badge!"

TAMH, I think you will be fine just make sure you tell them that if they asked. Also, Den didn't answer with too much info. He gave the minimum answer when asked. He said he didn't want to seem like it was practiced or anything. He just answered from the heart and we kept it as genuine as we could!

Thanks Den!

Definitely be prepared! I prepared what my Sweetie refers to as the purple "kick rass" folder!
I had everything organized and had all types of evidence. They only asked for cell phone records, photos, and some e-mails as evidence of our relationship. We got a guy and he was tough...we sat through and saw a lot of folks blue-slipped! When we heard our number called after Den was finger-printed and realized it was the guy as our interviewer...I was like "Ah man" he called us up and we were ready to go. The guy asked me to go and have a seat after we were born sworn in. He basically asked Den a lot questions:

1. When did we meet?
2. Where did we meet?
3. When did we start dating?
4. How do we communicate?
5. How often do we talk?
6. Had he ever been to the U.S.?

I only provided them with a copy of my 2008 W-2 and tax transcript. I had bank letter and copies of check stubs but didn't need to provide them. I made a photo album of all our pictures from the past year and a half and organized them accordingly. The interviewer also asked to see my passport. I asked him if he needed to see more evidence of our relationship but he said "No thanks that won't be necessary". He said, "Mr. Douglas I'm granting you your Visa to the U.S.!" We thanked him like twice and went down to the DHL counter to schedule when Den will go and pick up his Visa. They told him we can start tracking on Wednesday but they told us to expect at least two weeks so that's why I couldn't bring him back with me...I needed to get on back to work cause I feel like I am going to get the not want to work syndrome once Den actually gets here!

========

Thanks Den. I have tons of photos and western union receipts, however, i have no phone records as I communicate with my SO using a prepaid phone and we see each other on windows live when at we're home. I only hope that doesn't pose a problem, especially if I'm interviewed by that tough black CO.

I wish you and yours nothing but (L) and happiness

T-Mobile USA Waives Call Charges to and From Haiti
Joey Samaniego, PCWorld

Jan 14, 2010 8:53 pm

T-Mobile USA, Inc. announced that they will be doing what they can to lend their aid in the wake of the magnitude 7 earthquake that shook the Port-au-Prince area on January 12. The company will allow current T-Mobile customers to make phone calls to Haiti free of charge. T-Mobile is hoping to help unite family members by enabling phone calls without charges retroactively from January 12, 2010, until January 31, 2010. And any T-Mobile customers will also be able to roam free-of charge while in Haiti.

President and CEO of T-Mobile USA, Robert Dottson explains that “Our company and our employees care deeply for our customers, and we know that many customers have been directly impacted by the disaster in Haiti. While our thoughts go out to those in Haiti who are suffering so greatly at this time, our promise is to help people connect with those who matter most. I can think of no better time to demonstrate this commitment.”

Additionally, T-Mobile committed itself to helping to restore the wireless communications infrastructure maintained by its partner networks, Voila and Digicel, that was damaged in the earthquake. T-Mobile will also donate wireless equipment such as generator equipment and cellsites.

Any cell phone user who wishes to help can simply text “HAITI” to “90999” to make a $10 donation to Red Cross. The donation will be charged to your T-Mobile bill. Don’t worry if you’re out of text messages for the month, there is no per-text fee for this service, even if you don’t have a text messaging plan. So far, Americans have raised $5 million for the Haitian relief efforts, surpassing the $4 million total donations made through texts that were raised in 2009.

Good morning ladies!

anybody know the easiest way for my husband to renew his Jamaican passport? He is down there right now, but only for a week and a half.

The situation in Haiti is so tragic there aren't even words...I am so sorry for any of you that might have family down there...I hope and pray for you

-----------------------------

Acrow, you can download the form from this site http://www.pica.gov.jm/content/home/.
He needs to complete it and have it notarized along with 2 passport pictures( only 1 photo to be notarized) take these along with his expired passport to the passport office.
There is a 24 hr service which I think cost about $7000 and a 3 day service for about $6000.00.

good luck

Freaking DOS and Kingston Embassy is about to send me to the looney bin!!
My so still hasn't recieved packet 3, eventhough I was told it was sent out December 21. So I called back, just to have them tell me packet 3 was sent out January 11th. I then emailed kingston to ask if my so can either pick up packet 4 or if they can email it to me, they instead send me the links for the ds forms which I already filled out! I feel like pulling my darn hair out.
On top of that, my mom goes for surgery today on her ankle and I'm so worried about her because she CAN'T use the crutches and keeps walking on both feet, which can't happen after the surgery. So I'm gonna drink some guiness and red bull to help her up the stairs when she comes home this evening.
Someone please reassure me that relief is on it's way.... :crying:

-----------------------
I hope all goes well with your mom's surgery. My prayers are with her.
Make sure the mix is more Red Bull than Guinness.

Well today was our big day and we were approved! Excited doesn't even begin to describe the feeling!! Everything went very smooth. 7:30 appointment, went thru the document check-in by 7:45 and were out the door by 8:15!

Asked my hubby when & how we met, when we were married, if he'd met any of my family. Asked me if I'd met any of his and if they were at the wedding. Asked me how often I come, looked at my passport, and we were done!

Hope all that had interviews today (and upcoming) have similar experiences. My thanks to all for helping us get to this point!

i know but i ask because i get the impression the tests vary by the hospital you do your medical at
everyone's experience seems to differ

-------------------
can someone enlighten me as to ow the TB test is done at the medical? I would like to know if they give you the skin test using the injection or if technology has evolved.
My cousin was suggesting that i go to my Doctor and have him give me the shot too see if i'm positive or not before i attend the medical. She explains that this will help to eliminate any delays if i'm positive, which I don't think I am.

Thanks in advance

I think when it sates that it was picked up from the embassy it's because they had enetred the info in the system on the day of your approval but once it's ready the status will be updated.

If he's gonna pick it up the website will state that the visa is awaiting pick up as requested. Good luck, hopefully he gets it by Friday.
