I'm glad your loving it here. I love Maryland too. I'll send it now.

Lawny left for JA on Sunday and will be there for a couple of weeks. She called me yesterday, but I missed her calls because I thought it was someone calling for Ray and didn't answer. Wasn't until I got to work and saw the same number and noticed it was her. I hope she's doing ok, but she may call back sometime this week. I know MrsTee has talked to her.

I hope she's doing OK too. PM on the way.

Jam Queen, :wow: about your story for many reasons! I hope you gave your husband tons of bonus points for all of the effort he put into giving you a great surprise.

So Steven went to get his driver license today. Turns out Texas just started a law THIS MONTH that if you're under 25, you have to take a driver's education course! :bonk: Fortunately, we found the one approved online course, so he can do it from here.

Dang! what bad timing. Hope everything works out OK and he'll get that license soon.

Wow JQ had a blast! That was one very nice day. Happy Anniversary.

Finesse you having sexy parties over there. There are other ways to have sexy parties you know. :help: TMI

Hey Sunny! I'm loving it in MD so far. PM me your # so I can link you up. I'll do likewise too.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaYardies a home and a farrin, Part 25!

Hey Yardies

So yesterday was the anni versary of when me and my hubby met and went on our first date.

So he did not say anything to me in the car about it :help: in the morning and I was upset  because I thought he forgot.

When I went to pick him up he had Posted Image ready. I think his friend took him on his lunch break.

So we went home and bought the kids something to eat, and we went out to eat. Posted Image

He took me to this wonderful seafood restaurant here called Posted Image it was very nice and romantic.

I had the jumbo lump crab cakes for appetizer,Posted Image and the Shrmp Fresca. It contained Jumbo shrimp dusted, parmesan crusted and topped with jumbo lumped crab with angel hair pasta.

Hubby had the steak and lobster topped with the jumbo shrimp and crab lump scampi

I had on my freak um dress Posted Imageand he looked good in his jeans and Jordans (Damnnmn my husband is sexy as hel!!) but anyways.
We ate and then I was ready to go back to the house and…Posted Imagebut he wanted to make the most out of the evening.

So we walked the strip Posted Image and talked and held hands like our first date. I love this man. Posted Image

Awwwww! That sounds so romantic.

:bonk: Well the kittens are so adorable :luv: Foxxy is a good but confused Momma LOL. She is very protective of the kittens but also wants to play with Storm and run around with Hanny and coudle with Damian and I. Last night Mrs. Bootsy came over and suggested we move them from the basket into a larger box with a cover, so we did and she wasn't happy and left the babies and went back to the basket. So we needed to move her and the babies into the basket since she liked that spot better. Well she kept leaving the babies and jumping in the bed with us and running back and forth and finally stayed with the babies.

This morning I woke up and heard the babies crying, so I run and they aren't in there basket I nearly drop! so I am running all over looking for them following the cries and low and behold Foxxy moved them one by one under our bed so she can be closer to us :luv: . I let Hanny out of the boys room so he could mingle a little and didn't get too upset because he had to stay in with the boys all night LOL instead of his usual spot right up under me

The kittens are so adorable, I got a good look at the 1st born is black, the 2nd is white with coloring like Foxxy, the 3rd is gray with a little white like Hanny's father who was a very long hair. Mrs Bootsy says they are very small ( premies LOL) but healthy and just fine and she is looking forward to see if they are long hair as well. Her new kitties are long hair too we may try and mate 2 of our long hairs when they are older.

Damian is so cute he is so concerned and making sure the cats leave Foxxy and that the babies are protected. The only thing Mrs. Bootsy said was Lawd why is he shining that flashlight in there faces every minute  :bonk: scareing the mess out of them LOL. He had no idea he was frightening them we were cracking up, so no more flashlights haaa.

Well there are 2 more outside cats that are due litters this week, Foxxy's ( ho) Mother Darkly and Marilyn Monroe's ( ho) sister :wow: Darkly has bawn us all of our cats she is just fertile Myrtle and we can't catch her either :help: to take her in so we just do what we can to care for her babies.

Congrats on your new grand babies mama!

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaLetter from Bank for Jamaica Interview

I have read that a letter from you bank is not required if you make well above the 125% poverty line, you have copies of your 2008 W2, 2008 tax returns, 2009 W2, 2009 tax returns, company check stubs, and a letter from your place of employment. Is this true?

A letter from your bank is not necessary if your income is 125% above the poverty line, all that is requires is a letter from your employer, 2009 tax return and W2's.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaJamaican Interview.. Blue Slip!!!...more documents... Now what?

I am back from my interview that was this morning, it wasn't what I expected. :( . First of all a lady called me to do my finger prints and told me she didn't have our marriage certificate  when the documents that I got from the national visa center, clearly states that everything was in it. As soon as I was called for the interview The consular said my police record has expired but the thing is, I did two police records. One in January 2009 and the last one in November 2009. The consular picked up the one I did in January and said, I needed another police certificate because the one he was holding is expired. I tried explaining that I did one in November, but the consular firmly responded saying " well this is the one I have and it is expired" to that I responded "ok sir" He asked me a few questions about:

(1) Where we met?

(2) How we met?

(3) When we got married?

(4) How long he stayed for the first time?

(5) When was the last time I saw him?

(6) How many persons were at the wedding? (two plus the pastor)

(7) why? (we had a private wedding with two witnesses)

(8) If I had pictures? (I made a cute scrap book :))

(9) If I had western union receipts?

I had everything from the arm bands we wore at the hotels we stayed at to cards my husband, father in-law and sister in-law sent me, to phone records since 2008!!! (trust me I was prepared ;) ) but they only asked for western union receipts and pictures) After about 5 minutes or so of interview the consular started ticking the blue sheet, then he said I should get a new police certificate and use the number on it to make an appointment and return with my passport. What I need to know is:

(1) Will I go through a mini interview when I return with the police record?

(2) How long do you think I have to wait to get an appointment?

(3) Does it mean when I return I might get turned down?

I am trying to be ok but my husband is devastated :crying:. He is unusually quiet and I know he is taking it really hard. I wish I could physically be there for my Baby but I just have to pray. That lawyer is not worth a thing...even if I overlooked it, how could she? If it wasn't for visa journey and yardie thread I would still be in the dark about this whole process. Thanks Yardies!! :) Please give me your views on the questions I asked, so at least I can have something concrete to tell my Boo to comfort him  .

Awwwe! Sorry to hear that mama, I bet it's that black guy who gave you a hard time. Don't worry too much and tell your hubby to cheer up, everything will be ok. Just have him submit the documents they requested and they will approve his visa. As long as they didn't deny you you're good. My prayers are with you and hubby.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaWEST KINGSTON JAMAICA BLOOD SHED!!!!!!

I just heard that people are setting up to go into West Kingston and take lives if Prime Minister sign Coke over to the US, I'm waiting for my husband to call me back but it's taking so long and now I'm getting worried.

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Police say businesses in Jamaica’s capital have been closing early as rumors spread that the government has signed extradition papers for a man described by the U.S. as a major drug kingpin.

Police commissioner Owen Ellington says officers are monitoring the situation and there is no threat to public safety.

West Kingston community leader Christopher “Dudus” Coke is wanted by the U.S. on weapons and drug trafficking charges. Observers say any attempt to arrest the politically connected Coke inside his barricaded neighborhood could spark violence.

Local media say the government has denied signing extradition papers.

Prime Minister Bruce Golding has touched off a public outcry by opposing Coke’s extradition.

PPl need to stop spreading rumors and creating panic. My husband and I listen/watch the news online religiously every night and morning and we have heard no such thing. It's Mr. Finson (Dudus lawyer)is the one who made the comment that the forces should not use the extradition a an excuse to invade and kill innocent ppl in Tivoli.

Morning all!!

Had a busyish weekend....did a sweet sixteen birthday part...boy was that an eye opener!

Kids ended up partying to 2am! And the music...wow!!

What was a shock for me was after tagging the photos and looking at their FB pages was all the cursing and swearing even on their INFO page!! And these are 15 and 16 year olds!!
Just wondering if the parents are oblivious or just don't care....

Went to a cookout on Sunday, was really nice!!

I'm really not surprise cause this generation of kids are different, and parents don't monitor their kids the way they ought to. Then again, so,e of these parents are kids themselves.

Hello Yardies!

I am new to this thread. I got my interview date finally! It will be on July 19. My hubbie will be coming down to support me at the interview. YEAH!! I saw him in May for 2wks when I went to visit but jeez July can't come soon enough. LOL

I am here trying to determine when to tender my resignation.

1) Can anyone tell me the timeframe in which you received your passport from DHL?

2) What is the process like at Mobay Hope for the medical? Is it an all day thing?

I really want to be ready to depart Jamaica early August but I don't want to burn bridges at work so I would prefer to give 2wks notice.

Thanks for any ideas/suggestions.

Peace,
MaryLan

Welcome Marylan ,and congrats on your interview date.

I've been replying to posts but didn't say goodafternoon.
What a roller coaster day I had yesterday, my mother is the type of person that talks LOUD and DRAMATIC on the phone so automatically when I see her calling I worry. Anyhow, while I was at work yesterday she called and screamed that my grandmother was hit by a car! The way she said I thought my granny died so I went running 2 blocks to see a crowd arond her, her wig across the street (don't ask how it got there) but all in all a guy was reversing and hit her so she fell to the ground and hit her head. Thank God she's has no injuries except pain and muscle spasms.

Nat I just wanted you to know that I took my 1st baby step at saving: I subscribed to the newspaper (sat & sun) for $5 for 13 weeks, that's a savings of $21!!!

Have a great weekend everyone and I'll finish catching up after I take a quick nap.

Sorry to hear about grandma, I hope she's ok and not badly hurt. Keep us posted.

I figure its the least I can do cause Den is not really a big cooker. Now he will clean the house spotless and laundry and all of that but cooking...chile I would be a size 0! He said his brothers learned the cooking from their mom and he took up the cleaning, poe thang, sometimes I just want to go through somebody drive-thru but I guess if cooking is all it takes to make him happy I better bust out those pots and pans

He sent me a text the other day and said..."Baby that dinner was so good last night, thank you for being a great wife"

Awwwww! That's sweet of you, I like that. That's what I call team work. GO team Douglas!!

Girl, I'm so tired of preparing meals...lol! I've been putting some of our wedding presents to use. We got a veggie/meat steamer and a rice cooker that I use to help me out and of course, a slow cooker.

Den is just not a fan of eating out. We haven't been out to eat really since we moved into the house. I'm thinking I need an excuse to go out...oh yeah our 3 month being married anniversary is on Friday...seems like a good reason to go out!

Yay!Time sure flies when ur having fun. I can just imagine how exhausted you must be sometimes; being at work all day them having to go home and cook. Why not let Den start helping out in the kitchen? or if he can't cook you need to show him the ropes. If he's able to help out that would reduce the amount of time you spend in the kitchen.

As for me girlie, I have nothing to do and all day to do it so I really look forward to cooking and having dinner with hubby.

This is a public forum. I am a vet for all intents and purposes. And, for however many years I 've been on here, I've shared the good the bad and the ugly. Some days I talk a lot and some days I don't give a ####### about what anyone says on here. It's not any of you though. That's all on me.

The statement that this board has changed has come up over and over. Of course, it's changed. Who said it???? Someone wise yesterday...Jamerican?....it evolves with each batch of newcomers and who decides to stay and who decides to go. And, it depends on what is shared. We still share the same ups and downs. We still yell at each other from time to time. We still love and we still support. The one glaring change (well besides Nat's coupon talk....smile) is the sex talk. Personally, I can take both Nat and the sex talk only so much. And, honestly, I am questioning my faith right now and think all the God talk is a bunch of #######. At the same time, I wish I believed as deeply. You see it?

But.........if someone else enjoys it, who am I to say a damn thing. I have the option to skim over anything I want and to comment on anything I want. If I am not interested that day, I skim. If I am, I participate. This board does not live or die on my interests or comments. So, who the hell cares. Talk about what you want to talk about. If no one comments at all, maybe you should let it go. If there are comments, then, you are keeping this forum alive and it's what it was meant to be.

When someone needs visa help, we'll go back to helping them. When they don't, we will entertain ourselves in other ways.

I don't think people completely ignore or skip over talk they don't agree with. I've said many things on here over the years and even if no public comments are made, I get PMs to chat. This board still serves it's purpose. I try to be as diplomatic as possible, even when I've seen it all before or have my doubts. If I can't be, I will PM you with my concerns. You know who you are on here. If you tell me to STFU or move along, so what? I tried. I don't feel the need to be rude to anyone cause I don't see the purpose in it. If you are nice to me, I'll do my damndest to be nice to you.

Can't say I agree with every word that is written here. The tone bugs me sometimes. The words bug me a lot....as evidenced yesterday. But, I can say I don't like how or what you said, without attacking you. I have never liked any of the attacks on here. If you don't like someone on here, please keep your comments clearly on the up and up. Say what you want to say; but leave the biting comments out of it. You aren't helping anyone on here by cutting down someone. Your comments that are truly helpful and insightful are actually lost when you do.

You all could Posted Image me and I'd probably never leave. I have been through much that I hope none of you ever go through. And life is as tough right now as it's ever been for me. I have a lot to say and some helpful advice. When it's needed, I will throw it out there. When a referee is needed, I will try my best. And, when I'm just plain bored, I expect you all to entertain me.

STOP PICKING ON PEOPLE YOU DON'T LIKE.
STOP TAKING EVERY DAMN THING SO PERSONAL.
IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY, SAY IT......RESPECTFULLY.

Those are the 3 rules I live by. Try to anyhow.

There is no place else out there like this board.....shared adventures is what I like to call it. Whether good or bad, we have all been there, done that, going to do that, wishing we'd never done that, etc. It's where we were meant to be. And, I know personally, I need all of you goofballs. Posted Image

Well said

anytime him seh him wah front, tell him YES!!!

mek him know seh weh good fi di goose good fi di gander tuh!

Comment on his efforts, he cleaned up, mention it!

Expect him to be a man.

Let him do things for you! You don't have to carry the load yourself now, SHARE the load.

Say something nice to him everyday.

Kiss and hug him goodnight EVERY NIGHT. Nuh matta if yuh cussing.

Honor him, Speak to him with respect, even if you're angry. (Yes, mi slip pan dis NUFF times!)

Trust him with responsibility.

Ask (and value) his opinion.

Don't speak ill or his family or friends. (even if dem deserve it)

Give him breathing space.

Take time for yourself, even if you think you don't need it.

Let him make his own mistakes without nagging or 'I told you so'.

Keep your personal business personal unless he's fine with you talking about it to other people.

Good advice, although mi no so sure bout the friend and family part. I should be able to voice my opinions but at the same time understand that I have to do so respectfully ,and that there's a certain line that should not be crossed.

I had to laugh last night, even while I was quite touched. I had an early meeting and was trying to fall asleep, but had trouble going to bed so early (before midnight). Steven offered to sing me to sleep. I found it especially precious since his voice isn't award-winning (neither is mine). But what was hilarious was that his singing put HIM to sleep. I was still awake!

  This is just hilarious, I'm here laughing like a crazy woman.

Hey Yardies I am here with my Dad...he is in the hospital bed and I am in his bed next to him. He is only taking 8 breaths a minute and the hospice nurse thinks he will go today. But as we know the man upstairs is the one in control.

I pray that you and your family will find the strength to be strong in such a difficult time, and that you'll find comfort in the fact that if he does pass on, he'll be right under God's wings in heaven. My heart is with you and the family dills. (F)

Thanks TAMH, I really appreciate it. But my hubby is like this at least once a week. He will say Im going out with my friends and I be like who? Just to know because he is new to this country. And he tells me and I dont trip. But when Im trying to leave it is a flat out no!!!!!!! yOU AINT GOING NO WHERE, SO TAKE OFF THOSE CLOTHES. Or when iM GOING TO MY FRIEND HOUSE TO GET MY HAIR OR NAILS DONE. Flat out No. Im like ####### he is real jealous and if I dont go out ima be acting crazy, just sitting in the house.

I love my hubby he is my world. But I dont like to be told what to do. I am very independent and Im all for woman obey your husband but dangggggggggg he aint acting right!! The jealousy is going to have us break up.

I'm going to California this weekend, This is my weekend Mother's Day and I raised two beautiful kids on my own for the last 13 years. Im leaving my kids here with my dad and Im spending the day with my mother.
On Nov 13, 2007- as some of you know my maternal-grandmother was killed in an accident when she was driving and fell asleep at the wheel and flipped the car.

So I feel that my mom is the best person to be with on this wonderful occasion.

My father will be sad due to my grandma passing this year also, but he has my aunt and uncles that are all getting together for a dinner so that will be good.

I have to much love in my heart to deal with my hubby and his drama, so ima hit the town, with my wonderful mother and have a great time. (L)

I feel you gurl. He's kinda going a little overboard here cause he's basically demanding you like you're his child. Men need to realize that a little space from them just hanging with the girls and having fun is actually healthy for the relationship/marriage. You can try and make peace but sometimes even that ain't enough. You go on and enjoy your mother's day with Mom, you both deserve it. Hang in there (F)

But no I hear what you are saying and it sounds like you and hubby have come a long way. At first them being jealous is cute your like aww he really loves me but then after a while your like ok this ish isnt cute anymore. I’m glad that the water has settled and you two are still together. So see JQ there is hope.

True word Dada. Girl, he never admitted he was jealous, he was always playing it off as being concerned about my safety cause of all the violence in JA.
But I'm happy we went through our bouts of drama(which every couple experience at some point or the other) before we got married cause I sure wasn't gonna come here and take no sh*it. He's the coolest now.

MrsTee, Happy Anniversary to your husband being here in the U.S for 6 months!

It's hard to believe that Den has been here for 3 already! Time is flying by...wow!

Lol yes it is.. My son actually suggested I work on the harder problems first, but don't spend too much time on them. Save the easy ones for last. Im willing to try it since Ive never done it like that before, it may work. Him and the tutor seem to think I know math, I just get scared and freeze up... Im gonna say JQ's prayer like 5 times on the actual day of the test.Posted Image

You got it in the bag this time mama, just take a deep breathe and focus and you'll be fine. I'm rooting for you
