It looks good to me. You might want to bring additional evidences of meeting in persons too. Just in case. Although they didn't check my bulky folders & photo albums it's just good to know that you go there fully armed!

Good luck! (F)

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionAt the interview

Im just curious about the Affidavit of Support.......Do I have to obtain and send himanother set of Affidavit of Support before his interview so he could present it to the consul in Manila or the NVC will forward the I-864 directly to the Consulate in manila??? Just a little confused!

My fiance (now hubby) sent me Affidavit of Support before my interview and that's what the US Embassy took during my document screening process.

Good luck!

Oh & for the OP, they did took the Affidavit of Support with all it's additional documents but never even bother to look at the photos. They even returned the evidences that we sent with the original K1 application.

US Citizenship General DiscussionStick A Fork In Us We Are Done

PS: Hope you'd still be around for more SSN questions  (F) [/b] [/color]

Sure, you can expect plenty more government mumbo gumbo. LOL I really haven't needed to ever be here, since the AOS had been completed by the time I signed up here and I knew what to do with the removal of conditions and N-400 from my years of reading the visa-marriage newsgroup.

Thanks God for that MDYoung. I surely would need more of that mumbo gumbo things as soon as I get my GC and off to war no.2 with the SSA. Thank you! :D

US Citizenship General DiscussionDoes US recognize original citizenship?

We are still waiting on AOS, but never too early to start learning, eh? :P

Just thought I'd post this link I found... someone may find it helpful. Unfortunately, my husband's country is on the "NOT" list.

Best wishes, all you citizens of the Earth!

Thank you for the links. Sadly my country doesn't acknowledge dual citizenship (yet) there are some Mix Couple Groups that's been trying to lobbying the government by petitions and such to help make it possible. I'm just hoping by the time we're ready to do this they'll recognize dual citizenship.

Oops typo I mean we have to remove conditions by Feb 2009. Also, is it possible to apply naturalization from overseas? TIA!

US Citizenship General DiscussionSpecial Circumstances
Okay, my conditional PR card will expired on May 2009 (which means we'll have to apply for removing conditions around April 2009) and we'll be married for 3 years by September 2008.

My questions are:
1. Can I apply for naturalization if we'll be living abroad for at least 2 years? (Hubby got a job in China) and I'm applying for I-131 Re-entry permit.
2. Can we apply for naturalization at the time where I suppose to apply for Removal of Conditions? Or should we apply for removal conditions then apply for Naturalization later on after we receive the 10 years card?

Thank you all!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionResidency Question
Hi all,

Just wondering, if let's say my hubby and I moved out of the States for a couple of months (less than a year) will that cause any problem when it comes to removing conditions later on?

Thanks

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionRemoving Conditions from overseas?
QUOTE (jula @ Mar 10 2008, 11:03 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I went to the local USCIS office to ask how to "remove conditions from overseas". An IO consulted 2 supervisors and they agreed that it should be done through the US embassy. We left happy, one worry less... while we were sitting in the car on the parking lot discusing where to go next (so many things to take care off before the move), the IO came out of the USCIS building looking around... he approached us and said: "Sorry, but we are not really sure how you should do that... It may not work through the emabssy". Had we driven away, we might found that out too late. This is a public THANKS to the guy who came out....but it also shows you what you may expect.

I did not file for the change of address. As a US permanent resident, one is suppose to have US address. I put US address on the form and wrote the overseas address on separate paper.

Hi thanks for your answer and sorry for the late reply. That's some experience you had with the USCIS office there, oh my!

I will be using my inlaw's address so they could receive our mails from USCIS for us.

I hope I could be as luck as you are. Thanks again!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionRemoving Conditions from overseas?
QUOTE (jula @ Mar 9 2008, 05:05 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Here is my experience. Keep in mind I went through that some years back.

I moved overseas 6 months before the due date to remove conditions. I assembled tha package and mailed it to a friend in the USA who mailed it to USCIS. Bank statements from foreign bank and resident/working visas for both me and my husband were included. For the address, I put our USA address and foreign as temporary... so USCIS knew I wasn't livingin the USA at the time. The conditions were removed without interview.

It took more than a year, so I had to get back to get a stamp.. and had to come back to get fingerprinted after the approval. After that I filed for re-entry permit, otherwise it would be valid only until the expiration of 2 year GC.

Nowdays, one would have to wait for fingerprint appointment after sending the petition (or come back). The same goes for re-entry permit.

Don't know what else you may be interested in...

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me.
I haven't had a chance to do the infopass as I will have to go to Atlanta for that.
Did you file for change of address too or just fill your overseas address in the form to remove conditions?
I guess I could use my parents in law's address too if that is necessary.
I'm still reading about the re-entry permit too.
