K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresnov filers w/o noa2. last touch was?

Yes, we had NOA2 on the first touch and the one the day after was it being mailed or the like. Something seems odd with your case. Have you made any inquiries?

All November filers that have NOT received NOA2, please list your recent touches.

I had two touches in a row on 16 and 17 January and nothing since. I was super excited because normally after two touches after the amount of time it was, means NOA2 is coming within a couple of days. Not ours though. Wonder if our package fell behind the coffee machine.

Nope, going by the web site they say don't inquire until they're 30 days past the month they show they're processing, which is now August 2006. I figured I won't get very far if I start asking at this point.

Wow - are there still October filers left?

I think the 'first come first served' is a load of bollocks. I suppose it is true if you don't get the slowest adjudicator on God's green earth, but if you happen to get in the box of someone who either doesn't do family/marriage related visas, or a noob, then you're screwed.
[/quote

No, thats simply not true. All cases are processed in a first in first out date order. Petitions may lag behind because they get siphoned off for security screening, awaiting Responses to RFE's and other reasons.

Also Adjudicators only work/adjudicate one type of petition at a time. Meaning an officer adjudicating I129F's won't be adjudciating I-131's or 485's or something else at the same time. You work in a section, meaning you are assigned to a section who is processing I129F's and you stay there processing only 129F's everyday unless you are cross trained in something else, request a transfer or are tapped to work in another section for a short assignment. But CIS will never "Mix n' Match".[/quote]

Husk, if they decide to do security checks can that add a significant delay? Do they ever run local police checks and have to wait on paper replies?

CONGRATZ FWAGUY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great news, and I'm sure you're feeling great now and one big hurdle is past. Now, best of luck with NVC man.

Still no NOA2 for you yet? Boy, I hope you'll get yours too anytime now... Good luck!

Thanks for the well wishes. Yeah all sorts of things have been running through my mind. I have compiled a list of things your petition might be doing while at CSC.

1. They used our petition to level out the lopsided table in the break room.
2. A midget is using it for a booster seat.
3. It is posted on the break room bulletin board as the best example of a case to disapprove.
4. Adjudicator is using to prop up computer monitor.
5. Fell off the desk into the shredder.

I wish there was a little more information given out about why a case might be delayed. If they're running extra checks then update the web site. It sounds like it's tracked on their computers by scanning it in and out when different departments have it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUSCIS Case Status page

The best thing to do is be set up for email notices. You can then check to see if your file has even been touched.

However, learn patience. If you check everyday, it will drive you crazy.

I have set up for email notices, but I'm neurotic so I have to check both my email and the status page just in case one or the other is incorrect. :bonk:

Call me crazy then because if anyone holds a record for checking the site the most number of times per day, it has to be me. If USCIS can track how many times you sign in to check your portfolio, I'm sure they think I'm some sort of psycho. Even with as often as I check it, I still don't trust that it's updated accurately or timely. I've heard of so many people finding out they have an NOA because they received it in the mail and the web site never showed the change.

.....impatiently tapping fingers on the desk......eyes shifting left and right.....

okay time to check USCIS site again

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUSCIS Processing Dates, I-129F HUH????

I just was curious and went to the USCIS site and checked processing dates.

Nebraska and Texas do not list the I-129F, but Vermont and California do. Is this an indication Texas and Nebraska are forwarding I-129F's elsewhere, or just not reporting times?

They no longer process the 129F petitions. They're forwarded to California, which once CSC receives your package all updates will be from them. I'm living in Florida, I had to send my petition to Texas which then forwards to California. I'm thinking to myself, ####### why not Vermont? Vermont is closer AND they have a much faster approval time which in my pea sized brain translates into a lower workload. Soooooo unless my perception of things is way off, why not realign things and have all 129F's from east of the Mississippi go to Vermont and all west of it go to California? Geesh.

That's just me or everyone ? Becuase my last touch was on 24, Feb . since then I dont see any more touches plus NOA2 . It's been 15 days since the day the USCIS recieved my package .

Our petition was touched on 16 and 17 January and there's been nothing since. I wish our case had as recent a touch as yours was.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow Long is an NOA2 valid for?

4 months. :) When you receive your NOA2 (hardcopy), it is written in the paper until when it is valid. :)

It takes more than 4 months for some embassy's to hold the interview, and that's not counting the time NVC takes to get it to them. What then?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiancee visa... wants to go home

Correct me if i'm wrong , but if she does not get married in 90 days. If she just go to INS, she will get deported. That sounds like a free trip to me.

Not the right way to handle this though. The taxpayers pick up the tab for that. Also that's another black eye on the fiance(e) visa system which many people would like to see done away with anyway. He needs to step up to the plate and take care of her. If she truly does not love him and wants to leave he is responsible for helping her go home. Besides if she's young and this was all a huge mistake for her, if she used your suggestion then she would have huge problems ever being able to return here.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiancee visa... wants to go home

Hello everyone,

I would like to ask an idea about my cousin's case. She came here as k1 visa and been here already for 2 weeks, she realized that she is not happy with her man and wants to go back to Philippines, she told her man that she wants to go home but her man wont let her, anyone there can give an idea how can my cousin go back to Philippines? Her man will not buy her a ticket to go back? Do you think its his obligation? Help... :help:

It is sad to see something like this happen and it makes you wonder if it's him that she isn't happy with or she's just very homesick. Her maturity probably has a lot to do with this also. Is she very young? Besides all that, if she wants to go home it's his obligation to provide the means for her to do so. It's in the petition he filled out that he guarantees she will not become a public charge or dependent on charity.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIs it okay for me to go there?

Hello, my fiancee (Japanese citizen) and I (American citizen) are planning on mailing our I-129F package out within the next few days. However, I was wondering if the fact that I am going there to Japan to see her later this month will have any bearing on the petition. In other words, should we wait until I return home to send the I-129F in, or does it even matter? I'm aware that it is not a good idea for her to visit me in America once the package has been submitted, but does it matter if I visit Japan during this time? Further, should I include my itinerary for this upcoming trip in support of evidence of relationship for further proof? Thanks so much for any and all input, best of luck to you all.

Andrew

If you have never met in person before, you need to wait to submit your K1 package until after your trip. One of the requirements is to have met in the last two years and you must include proof in the package. If you've already met in person in the last two years and have other proof then there is nothing to prevent you from visiting while your package is pending. There also is no restrictions on her visiting here on a vistors visa while the case is pending. Tourist visas do not affect your K1 application.

Hope this answers your question.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDivorce Decree

What exactly is a final divorce decree or certificate? Is the original petition for divorce stamped by the court and filed? If not, how can I get this? Is it easy? Thank you.

In most states/counties you can get copies of divorce decrees from the clerk of the court in the county you were divorced in. I had to get copies from a state that I do not live in any longer and they had a website that gave me all the info I needed and I just mailed them the request with the fee and they sent the copies in the mail to me.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNEBRASKA AND TEXAS DOWN???

You still have to mail it to your corresponding service center, they will then forward it to the one that is working the your type of case.

Sorry, but isn't that a little bit stupid? That would delay the whole process, we should be able to file it to CSC or VSC directly! USCIS!!! :crying:

By the way, We are from Alaska, do you know where are they going to foward our petition? (please don't say Cali)

Yes it's been decided, hands down, that it's stupid to have to file to Texas or Nebraska and have it forwarded but they have not changed the process yet. All 129F's that go to Nebraska and Texas get forwarded to California. I'd suggest that you move to the region of the country that is processed by Vermont Service Center, then file.

I'm a January filer, and I'm unpatiently waiting for NOA2  . I have not seen many approvals this week. Has any petitions been approved since Monday?

This is starting to get depressing. January filers are talking about getting NOA2's now and my NOA1 from 1 November isn't approved yet!! Better get back to my list of things to do while waiting for NOA2.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCSC Processing
From discusssions held here before about this subject, here's what everyone that was interested and observed has come up with. The CSC processing times seems to get updated monthly around the 17th of the month. The month they're displaying is "supposedly" the oldest cases they still have on hand that have not finished processing. It did in fact advance from July 2006 to August 2006 last month around the 17th. The reality of it is that the majority of cases have been approved long before the month they show they're now processing.

The bad thing is they don't want to hear from you about your case until it's 30 days past that month they show on the site. To someone like myself who is one of the few lingering November cases still not approved, I cannot call them for four more months, and that's assuming they continue to update their site and move it ahead every month. If I remember right, when I checked it a several months ago it sat on June 2006 for at least two months.

I should have moved to the region of the country that Vermont services before I filed!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan gov. officials speed up the waiting time?

Thanks for your input. I am aware of current case processing times but if there is a way that I can speed up the process by making a phone call or two... it seems worth while!

So... is there anyone out there who has done this before? Can it help? I have connections with different politicans but don't want to call in any favors if it's not going to help.

I realize everyone is waiting patiently and wants to get their loved on into the States. Sharing experiences and tips is what this forum is all about!!

Thanks in advance!

Lauren

I have known people on here that have contacted their representative about their case. It had been pending longer than yours at this point, and the representatives office was told the same thing the petitioner was told, "the case is within normal processing time" almost to the word. The time to contact your representative is if you have gone past the "normal" processing time and for CSC thatis' about 90 days. You might want to save calling in a favor if you have any, until you really need it. Don't forget, after USCIS finishes with it, it has to go to NVC and they've been known to need a nudge here and there too.

Good luck to you!

1. Take an underwater basket weaving class at night school.
2. Iron your underwear and socks.
3. Teach cats to walk a tight wire.
4. Watch championship bowling on TV then talk to all your co-workers about it constantly.
5. Read War and Peace, backwards.

8. Embroider your name on every stitch of clothing you own.
9. Try to start conversations with as many 1-800 operators as you can per day.
10. Write a book on 101 things to do while waiting on NOA2.

Thanks Mae. Since so many people have now said that they received their NOA2 in the mail but never received an email, my mailbox door is barely hanging on the hinges because the minute I get home I'm ripping it open to see if there's any "official" looking mail from the government in there!!

As for things to do while waiting on the NOA2, I'm having a lot of trouble with number 3 up there on the list.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresYahoo Chat

After your chat, go on the messenger under archive, it will bring up a list of who you have talked to, hit save and name it, this will print page after page but once you shut off the machine that chat session will disappear

You can change your settings so that the session will not get deleted after you sign out. Just go to preferences under messenger on your top line menu, or hit Ctrl+Shift+P with the yahoo window active and click on archive and change that option to "Yes, save all my messages". If it's deleting after you close Yahoo then you have the second option selected which is "Yes, save all my messages but clear them each time I log out"

Many people have brought this up and all you need is one page from some selected dates. Be sure to print out the log that shows all the chat sessions with their dates. This will show how often you chat in Yahoo.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDivorce and I-129F
I just read in the "VJ unofficial lawyer" section that he listed reasons for red flags on a petition and things that will have your petition sent to the fraud detection section of USCIS. One of the top 10 is very recent divorce followed by an engagement soon after.

I hope this doesn't happen to you. Don't let it discourage you but it is a potential black hole your case can slip in to.
