US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI received Packet 3, but I'm confused

Faxing seems only to apply to a few embassies. It doesn't for ours, for instance.

But yes, your instructions should tell you what to do.

The first time I read them, I was a bit confused because they use the words "forms" and "documents" which I read as the same thing. They are not. Normally, you need to return the "forms" - those DS-xx things and the checklist which indicates you have the "documents" listed on them, in your possession.

Take the original "documents" requested on the checklist with you to the interview, along with a photocopy of all of them. I believe - from reading others' posts - that you may be asked to leave the photocopies there, but they want to see that you have the original, to prove that the copies are genuine.

Thank you so much..
I've been reading over and over the instrustions. and yes the form and document are deffinatly key words :-)

A little of a nervous stomach, but I'm almost ready to sent my packet in.

Very helpfull

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI received Packet 3, but I'm confused
I received packet 3 a few weeks ago,
No real problems filling out the forms, but my question is about the check list

When I send my package back do I only send the check list and the forms?
or do I need to submit the photographs police Certificates and birth certificate?

I've just ordered a copy of my long from Birth Certificate, but it would not allow me to get a few copies. in turn this would mean the only copy I would have would have original seal.
I can make photo copies, but I will need the original for the interview.

so my question is. do I need to send the original with the check list. or do I even need to send a copy at all?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPacket 3

The first get 5 50cm x 50cm, the officer at the consulate may only be thinking of the 2 needed at the consulate and is forgetting the 3 needed for the medical.

If you end up with an extra you can always use it later for AOS in the USA

On the packet 3 info it sais they have to be 2in x 2in.. or 50mm square.. My bad..
But when I called the to make the apt.. they told me to get only 2 picthure and 1 1/2 x 1 1/2

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPacket 3
In packet 3 it tells me to get 5 identical pictures...... 3 used for the medical and 2 that I will need to bring with me to the interview..

When I called to make my medical appointment they told me to get 2 pictures and 50cm x 50cm. with is not the same information that I got sent from the packet 3..

What should I do?

and am I also correct but saying I don't actually sent the picture on the form that I send back for packet 3? that they will only be used at the interview?
the from I filled online shows a spot to put pictures, and I thought I read a post previously about that

Thank you
You guys are all Wonderful help

aos = adjust of staus

Ap = advance parole (in case u want to leave the USA (includding canada) before AOS is complete

EAD = Employment authorized document! k1 is able to work ,BUT you need the EAD stamp and most POE do not give them.

IF the POE does not give them.. where should I go to get them?

CanadaAfter interview process
Ok, I'm reading threw this.. and I'm unbelievably confused..

I have an interview date... November 8th.... and we are planning on getting married around the first week of Jan.

I've been reading allot of post. and people have so many abbreviations. and I'm not sure what are the following steps I need to take after the interview..

Is the point of entry pre-determined for you?

what do I need to do to be able to start working? my and my soon to be husband would like to buy a house together.

what about traveling back and fourth? if I wanted to go back to Canada for holidays? what's involved there?

and finally what are/do these mean?

AOS?

AP?

and EAD?

Than you in advanced for the help..
I don't think I could be anymore excited and nervous at the same time

CanadaSSN card and EAD
I was wondering when or what is involved for me to get a Social security number?

For those who say you can get and EAD stamp at JFK airport. how would I go about doing that? I'm coming from Ottawa, and I usually go threw immigration there
Any suggestions?

CanadaDoug's Montreal Review
QUOTE (Doug n Amanda @ Nov 9 2007, 09:49 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I wasn't there, but Doug filled me in. He was 1st in line, showed his letter as requested, given a card and told to wait for his # to be called. The "paperwork lady" was a LITTLE snippy, but even she seemed to be in a decent mood...it probably helped that Doug's accordian file was in the exact order that she asked for the documents thanks to VJ good.gif

He stuck to the back of the elevator like glue, LOL, and sat for a very short time waiting for his name. He was addressed as "Mr. F" by the young guy behind the glass, who ased ONE question.....how did we meet...Doug gave him the short version of our online encounter, and he said "that's good enough for me......congratulations Mr. F", and proceeded to assure Doug that he'd do everything he could to get the packet sent out to us today (Friday), since Monday was a holiday. Course, I won't hold my breath, but at least he was nice! (Who wouldn't be to Doug; he's a sweetheart to everyone!)

So, all in all, the actual interview lasted a little over 2 minutes!

Oh, the hotel across from the Consulate was just ok; hard bed, but he did couldn't need to sleep much anyways blush.gif

Unfortunately I was I don't think I encountered Doug.. But yes I think we were like 5th in line and as well got out by 9:30 with our approval..
Gratz to you as well

Book a flight on the 21st so I hope I get my visa by then :-)

CanadaMontreal Approved
Just wanted to let people know.
Interview in Montreal was a breeze.. I was so nervous but it could not have gone better,

And like Doug and Amanda, only question that was ask was how we met.. but also when I had told him it was tru an online game. with asked what one.
so I told him D&D,, then he asked us what kind of character we played.. I was a fighter, he was a paladin.
and he also then asked what the names of out characters where
I Said Darktopaz.. and he said Brockney.
But we got a good laugh when the next comment out of his mouth was. "What a manly name"
and that was it.

No test to lift conditions. Forms to fill out and money to pay, but no test.

Test is for citizenship.

is the test for citizenship the one you do after 2 yrs of having your aos?
either way is there a place for the to get study materials?

I've been in the US for a year now. and I know I have 9 more months before applying to lift the conditions.
I also know I'm going to have to pass some test?

Do anyone know where I'm supposed to find study information?
I've got ALOT to learn and know very little.
Thank you

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751
I'm a few weeks out from the 2 year anniversary of my green card... Is all I need to file is the I-751 from? with all the evidence?

Anyone have anything else they can tell me I need to do?... One I do this is the last step?

And I can't seem to find where to find the fee for it. Any idea?
