Chuck - Stewart had the same issue but luckily his USCIS worker caught it before he left and he had to keep redoing it until they got a "good read" or whatever.

My update is that Stewart had his biometrics done and he was in and out in about 15 minutes. He said they were nice and it was easy - so now we wait smile.gif

To the OP -- my husbands BC does not have a dad listed for the exact same reason you don't have one. We don't even know what his name is to get it corrected if we wanted. Anyhow, I now have my GC and everything worked out for us. He was the USC but I don't think it should matter that much.

received Oath letter yesterday, 19feb2010, Oath ceremony scheduled on 18Mar2010

case status on uscis website still says "you have interview scheduled", does not show any updates at all!!, this is very strange.

got to admit I was beginning to get a little anxious, Good Luck to all other filers.


Hopefully, my wife will get the same oath date as your spouse.

navarre, I'm sure you meant "cite", but no, I do not have the citation handy as it is a well known provision here in Florida with regards to real estate law..

Here is a quick blurb to sum it up.

"While tenants by entireties has been abolished in England, it survives under the common law of many jurisdictions in the United States, including Florida, where it is well established in a long line of Florida case law decisions.

Both tenants must join in any transfer or alienation of TE property, and one spouse cannot transfer his interest in TE property without the joinder of the other spouse. "

You may read more by searching joinder of spouse or Florida Homestead Law. You were on the right idea with the taxing info, that is a provision of the Florida Constitutional Homestead, as is the protection of assets from creditors, and the joinder of spouse.

You are reading about distribution of assets which has nothing to do with real estate. We are talking about conveyance of real property, in the case of a divorce. This is only an example, we are not talking about the divorce laws.

NavarreMan, don't knock yourself for putting her on the deed. Because you live in Florida, nothing would have been different. As long as you were married to her, she had to agree to sign away her interests by way of deed, too. For instance, I bought my home alone two years ago. The moment I got married and my husband moved in, though, half of my home became his and my hands are tied with selling or refinancing unless he agrees to it. That is called Constitutional Homestead and gets lots of people in the wallet. When I perform closings for single people, I drill this tidbit in, because it hardly ever comes up until a nasty divorce.

Check with the laws of your state. Your spouse may have gained half of the interest in your home just by virtue of marriage to you. This applies to more than half of the states in the U.S. You may not need to bother with the quit claim deed at all, and you may not prepare a quit claim deed just to change your name. A quit claim is for distributing interest between parties. You own your home, no matter what your last name. When you sell your home, the deed will probably show you with a FKA( Linda Johns, formerly known as Linda Smith)

The other poster was right about adding your spouse to the loan. This requires refinancing altogether.

We forgot to mail 1-865 /Sponsors Notice of Change of Address when we moved last year from Arizona to Florida. I sent out AR-11 form only. Do you think we will be penalize by USCIS because we did not sent it right away? We are on the process of mailing it out this week. (hope it's not too late?)
I am just hoping there is no big deal knowing I don't have a pending case going on with them.
I'll remove my conditional status in May.

Any help will be greatly appreciated regarding this post.

We went to a rugby match last week! So fun! We found a place called the walkabout cafe. It's run and operated by a lady from Perth and her American hubby. Cool place but not too much stuff....just some really pricey cadbury and vegemite.

Stew's parents get here on Thurs (week from) night next week. I am so excited. They ar egoing to meet my parents for the first time : ):)

This is the one I use....


- 1 oz butter
- 2 small onions, finely chopped
- 2 pounds ground sirloin
- 2 Tbs flour
- 2 1/2 cups beef boullion or stock
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- salt and pepper to taste
- I add worseceschire (sp?) sauce bc I love it
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 pcks puff pastry
----------------------------------
- Parchment paper
- uncooked rice
* Melt butter in saucepan and add onions. Fry over moderate heat until onions soften.
* Add beef and fry, pressing down with fork until beef is frowned.
* Drain and sprinkle with flour continue cooking for 2 more mins
* Remove pan from heat
* Gradually add stock
* Return pan to heat and stire constantly until mixture boils and thickens
* Add all reminaing ingrediants except egg and pa stry
* Cover pan and simmer over low heat for 30 mins.
* Line muffin tin (I use texas muffin tins...they are big) with pastry...this takes a bit of work...
* ####### the base several times, cut excess
* Cover each muffin hole with parchment or wax paper, and fill with uncooked rice. Put it in the oven @ 400 degrees for about 10-15 mins. This allows the bottom bit to cook...REMEMBER The rice AND the paper or else the pastry will "puff"
* Spoon filling into pies
* Top with pastry...use beaten egg as "glue" on edges of pastry.
* Brush top with egg, bake 400 degrees for 25 mins.

This one works well - for the base recipe. I sometimes do a google search for other ingrediants to add. I go rogue with the worsechestire sauce and you can really add anything you want :)

Texas muffin tins work REALLY well. Then it makes six little pies :)
