I'm hopeful the instructions on the I-751 posed less of a challenge than the instructions here.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionConditional GC Approved without Interview
Am I eligible to be a part of this thread?? If so, don't have much to add yet, just that we mailed it off. We did DCF in Australia two years ago, so no AOS...

Ooooh- I get who this thread is for smile.gif Never mind!!!! But good luck to EVERYONE and here's to speedy processing!!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionQuestion 7... "Have you ever been arrested"
i know a bunch of people have already answered, but I just wanted to add my two cents.

DH got a DWI two years before we got married.

We told them during the initial visa process, removal of conditions process, and now AGAIN as we file for naturalization. It's the biggest pain in the rear end...Just letting you know you're not alone :)

Good luck

I'm currently in the process of putting everything together and want to send my package out somewhere tomorrow or the day after. I am wondering, however, about question #7 on the i-751: "Have you ever been arrested"...

Well, yes, I have 'ever' been arrested for something minor, I told them about this during my visa interview back in my home country, and again during Adjustment of Status. I know they have this on file (he showed me during the interview back then for the AOS). Now I am wondering if I should tell them AGAIN what happened back then, again with the whole explanation, and again with the explanation why the stupid court letter is making it worse then it really is irl (to make it short, I hardly had anything to do with the case but in my country they put everything together as 'efficiency' so it actually look like as if I was one of the main perpetrators).

I kinda don't want to do the whole thing again, mostly because during my initial visa interview, I almost got denied because of the confusion the court letters brought and I am scared there might be some more confusion again. I never received any punishment or whatever, I just had to go to court to show my face and that was basically it... but that darn letter from the court is making it seem worse :(

So basically, yes, I think I will have to put 'yes' as answer and redo the whole thing, but still.. what do you guys think? Isn't it kind of weird they use the word 'ever' while they already know the things about the past (if they didn't, it would mean you've lied in the past to them)?

Now if it said 'during the time you've lived here' or something similar, then it would make sense to me, but right now I am kinda scared I do have to put 'yes' and tell them the whole story once again, with the risk of being denied...

Thoughts?

Well I got a new job that didn't allow me to visit this site at work. That helped a lot!!! I do LOVE my new job, however, so it's worth it. Not much going on. We're about to file for removal of conditions, so i've been getting up on my VJ knowledge smile.gif I'm so happy to see things are finally moving for you! I'll be around a bit more now, but I see I've missed drama galore!!!!

Middle East and North AfricaUpdate on the denial

the stress and obsticles have been greater in the year that we've actually been living together here in the US than it was during the visa process.

Very true! I mean the first year of marriage is hard! It's adjusting...it's AWESOME and wonderful but it's not all perfect!!

Middle East and North AfricaUpdate on the denial

Has anyone considered that the denial was the result of the evidence submitted or lack of evidence submitted to prove the hardship?

I thought it was clear the reason was because they hadn't met. I think she was the one to even say it.

i have to agree with everyone here. The hardship cases are CLEARLY almost impossible...which you'd know if you did you research. As someone else has said...if Fiona and Andrew, two copmletely wheelchair bound amazing people could do it...I mean I know it's not always easy...but It's not impossible.

The thing is, research would have shown Jabree that...before she set her hopes on getting them to approve the hardship thing..I mean, honestly.

This is just me, but I couldn't marry someone i'd never even MET once...but I don't want to start a different argument here.

Also - Prayer and nicey nice posts are great...but they won't get her petition approved...ya know? Reality is severely underrated

You trust him but you don't trust her...but if you trust him...it shouldn't matter. That's a contradictory statement really...but good luck either way.

I can see that I guess,. I dont know, I would feel guilty translating my husbands provate convos. I mean if I was worried I'd ask him what was being said...

I trust my husband enough and our love that if someone WAS trying to break us up, he wouldn't because he loves me...but I trust him with all my heart so maybe it's different?

This place will never be the happy happy rainbow and unicorns getalong gang, superfically Stepford place that you think it should be. I think you need to really accept that in order to find happiness in belonging to the place that it is.

I used to love the getalong gang...that TV show :)

But in all seriousness...this is 100% accurate!

I switched cell phone companies once.

It was a fairly capricious desicion...ya know? I didn't like one...so just...SWITCHED...to another.

So I know where she's coming from.

For me, if I were going to become religious or convert to another religion, I would hope it would be for the right reasons. The right reasons for me would be that I had a genuine interest in the religion and I studied up on it and felt compelled to commit myself to certain beliefs. I would never convert to a religion just because my husband is of that religion, or because he would be happier if I did- that's not the point of religion to me. If someone switched religion because their husband wants them to well that doesn't seem right to me

Amen Sarah. In addition, I would have done TONS of research to know what I was getting into. This research would have included...when fasting starts at ramadan.

just me.

Sorry I'm late!! Of course, WE ARE APPROVED!!!!!! Posted Image
The interview was easy as pie and he was only at the consulate for 2 hours total. He paid extra at VFS to be bussed to the interview and was VERY glad that he did. I am going to write my review right now from what he told me, but wanted to let you know for Kinnari that the consulate is SUPER crowded even for typical India so be prepared. Prem said that he got a seat, but that someone was always standing right in his face because there were so many people in there. Overall, the process was very straightforward and easy. He was also able to pick up his passport and visa that evening at 5:30 PM. We are going to buy his ticket tonight so I get to see my baby in 4-5 days!!! :)

Only one more week to go for you guys. I can't wait for you to be done as well. Good luck and keep us posted.

Congrats!!! I got approved also on my interview 2 days ago (Nov.3), now I'm just waiitng for my visa to be delivered, hopefully soon. :D

Don't worry about no SIF, others have recently posted that they have been assigned interview dates without an SIF. I have always believed SIF was just that and doesn't go hand in hand with anything else.

Hi Ryan, Thanks for enlightening me, I like what you said SIF means nothing, Case Complete means everything^^. Praying we all get an interview date soon (L)
