Middle East and North AfricaMENA BICKERING

i don't believe anyone here makes the choice in a SO to please someone else, do they? it's to make themself happy and certainly not you.

Exactly Charles, so stop worrying about Sarah's comments as they have nothing to do with yours and Nessa's happiness.

i'll be sure to point out this post of yours to steven ;)

What's that supposed to mean? I ask this because I'm curious, and it has no tone.

YOU said the bit I put in red, so if you truly believe that, there's no issue here what Sarah thinks.

i'm really not interested in fighting with you lisa, so i'll just let this pass by. you're right, as always.

FINALLY someone gets it!!!

When I would go I'd always get this plate of noodles... you could choose which kind of meat you'd like ( I picked shrimp) and also you can give them the level of spicy you want.... 0 for me

Sounds like Pad Thai. I also get shrimp...and if they can make it -6 that's what I get :) I got 1 once and almost died.

Hmmm I called when I did mine and they said I HAD to send the ORIGINAL marriage cert!!!

They returned it, but I sent the original!

the new thing they do is they return the OLD passport with a hole punched in it - and send a new one with a new photo and everything. My friend got married about two years ago and did it the way you mention Jackie...

I just did mine last month, and I think this is the "new" way?? Not sure

You are the USC right? Name changing on your passport is relatively painless. If you're like me, you 've had your passport for a while - if you've had it for under a year, it's free....

if not...

from http://travel.state....cting_2654.html

If you ARE otherwise eligible to use Form DS-82:

Form DS-82, Application for a U.S. Passport by Mail ; AND
The passport to be replaced; AND
Acceptable evidence of name-change, such as marriage/divorce/ adoption decree; or court order of name-change; AND
Appropriate fees ; AND
Two (2) recent passport photos.

Mail in the form, your original passport, your marriage certificate, $65 (i think...or 75), and two passport photos.

You actually have to put your passport in an envelope and mail it off - scary - but they return it to you. I sent mine so I could track it. It made me real nervous but all was well.

Check out that link - let me know if you have questions. It took about 4 weeks to get back to me :)

Middle East and North Africaso what did you wear....
WOW - GOOD question. i can't remember the first two times, but I think at one point I wore really comfy khakis and a shirt? The last time I wore sweat pant s- not sweat pants but like...track suit pants...and a top.

It is a LOOONG flight and I know I looked horrible when I got off that plane, but I didn't care :) and I guess neither did Stewart! He still married me!

I love some of these ideas though - the summer's eve stuff and the perfume! I didn't even take clean undies - it was one LOOOOOOOONG trip!

I don't really understand MULTIPLE unwanted pregnancies. I worked in an inner city school where I had teenagers on their third child...I mean, the first time...ok, whoops...but live and learn! (Totally just my opinion...but I'm biased as I've been able to go 28 years without an unwanted pregnancy). Is no one teaching these children how to use BC, how to say no, how to be responsible...and I think the answer is no.

(PS this is totally a tagent on teen pregnancy and not related to the above comments)

Middle East and North AfricaDo you spoil him?
racism and sexism are the practices of HATING another race or another sex.

Thinking it's gross to marry someone 20 years younger than you does not fall under those. The people involved here dont HATE younger men/women or older women/men....they thinkit's gross to have sex with someone who is that much younger.

To equate that with racism is WAY off base.
CarolineMFemaleAustralia2006-10-31 13:54:00
Middle East and North AfricaDo you spoil him?

I said I wouldn't date a man 20 years older than myself. I don't think I'm the only person who wouldn't. Many others have shared that they have limits with age gaps.

My most likely unwanted $.02.......me either. Like Sarah, I don't think it's GROSS, but if my mom OR dad were dating someone my age...I would not like it...and I, personally, (Again, using "I" statements) wouldn't do it myself.

to those that are doing it...more power to you! Just personal opinions because I find this topic very interesting.

Middle East and North AfricaMy connecting flight just 2 hrs 20mn

However...the airline will always get you a new flight.

My advice. If the ticket works for you then go for it and hope for the best. If you miss your connecting flight, well, then you just have the airline book you on the next flight. Not a big deal.

Joel

 Totally. Stewart had less than two hours. It was rush hour at LAX - he made it...he had to run, but he made it.

Joel is right - the airline WILL rebook for you - so why not try to make it? If you don't, worse case, you re book :)

good luck

Absolutely!

I have a question for the people posting in here.

If you found out that your husband's PRIMARY reason for marrying you was a greencard but he was nice to you and treated you well, would you end the marriage?

A Marriage, and the vows you take, are based on trust, honesty and love...If you don't think that lying to you to marry you goes AGAINST the principals of marriage and would STAY with that person?? Then I think you need to re-examine...big time.

I agree with Moody. I'd be LONG gone.

And that more importantly, if the guy is hellbent on using you for a green card, he's likely not going to change his mind just because you make him a mean three-cheese omelette.

My husband HATES it when there is air on in the car... hot air, cold air... he hates it. If the windows fog up, he rolls down the windows. Whenever I say I feel sick ... "It's because you drive with the air on." Ummm NO I'm pretty sure it's because YOU drive with the windows down when its 20 degrees out.

OMG STewart is the same way!! That's funny!

Middle East and North AfricaWednesday!

Why should they be up on bird flu? While it's a potentially very large threat, it isn't yet here at all, and while you were in another country where there's been a few cases, your nurse hadn't been there. (Plus, it presents as any other influenza, nasty.) She probably can't identify the symptoms of leprosy, either.

You probably just have an airplane cold, doodle. I get them nearly every time I have a long flight.

That's what I said...wise words!

Didn't you just get back in the country Doodle?? I find that airplanes are huge germ carriers. EVERYTIME I fly I get sick. You know, enclosed space, tons of people, any of whom could have the flu or whatever and no way to protect yourself from it.

I took that "Airborne" this time and I didn't get sick, so maybe that helped.

Hope you feel better!

Middle East and North AfricaLifestyle Changes
I hope I can pitch in here....

There are two kinds of adjustments that I had to make...

1. A few cultural ones (not that Australia is too different from Us)

and more majorly

2. Married ones...
The adjustments that I've made ...going from a single woman living with a roomate or alone to living with my HUSBAND have been the big ones.

I know ya'll will have more to adjust to since the ME/NA culture is different....but that's my two cents :)

I'm glad to see your interview got moved up!!!
