K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCFO Seminar Question

what is this?

Original and photocopy of Immigrant Data Summary for US bound

one of the requirement for the CFO

I think that for immigrant so just ignore it. As for my exprience they did not ask for that. What they ask me is a legal capacity good thing I brought it with me and to think I was married a long time ago. But for u dont need that, just bring a photocopy of ur husband's passport with the last stamp that he visited you, pictures of you together, and you have to know your husband's middle name.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDoes anyone have experience with an illegal immigrant fiancee?
Thanks for the info guys.

He did not come through a point of entry. He was never admitted to this country.

My profile says mexico because when I initially signed up to this site, I was researching for a friend who, coincidently was in the same situation. Her fiancee went back to Mexico and things did work out with them.

Like I say, I am trying to line an attorney up, but am nervous and wanted to get opinions prior to that.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDoes anyone have experience with an illegal immigrant fiancee?
My thought was that he would have to return to Brazil and I would file for him from the states. If I do that, though, I should not marry him here, correct? He is undocumented here and will return to Brazil that way, if need be.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDoes anyone have experience with an illegal immigrant fiancee?
I have reqeusted appointments for two attorneys on the subject locally, but wondered if anyone here had either been in the situation or heard of a situation like mine? My fiancee is illegally in the US (never having been issued a visa) from Brazil. I have a marriage license, but we have not married.

200 new INS jobs for St. Albans
Monday, 01 October 2007
Additional 100 positions for Williston, says Leahy

ST. ALBANS CITY –– St. Albans received a major economic boost today with the announcement that as many as 300 federal jobs will be added to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service Center’s (USCIS) Vermont facilities, 200 of them in St. Albans.

U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., made the announcement today in Burlington, during a press conference at the University of Vermont (UVM).
Leahy’s staff said Emilio T. Gonzalez, USCIS director, notified the senator of the expansion Thursday, via letter.
“Vermonters have built a solid work record, earning confidence in what we can do with bigger challenges,” Leahy said in a prepared statement issued Friday afternoon.
“These new jobs will ease strains in the immigration system and on workers in Vermont who have been facing a rising workload,” the senator said. “This is a good day for Vermont’s economy and a vote of confidence in Vermont’s workforce.”
In his letter to Leahy, Gonzalez wrote that 1,500 new federal positions would be created in fiscal year 2008 to “enhance service delivery by providing more efficient and customer-oriented immigration and naturalization benefits processing.”
Gonzalez said that of those 1,500 jobs, 300 would come to Vermont. Leahy staff member confirmed that 200 of those jobs would come to St. Albans City, and the rest would go to the Williston facility.
Additionally, the Vermont centers can expect to see a higher complement of contracted worker to support the new positions, according to Gonzalez.
Leahy’s staff could not determine today just how many contracted workers were expected as part of the expansion.
Twenty new fraud detection and immigration officers also will be deployed to Vermont to detect combat immigration benefit fraud.
“Because the majority of immigration benefit fraud begins with the filing of an application or petition with USCIS, it is essential to identify suspect cases as early in the process as possible …,” Gonzalez wrote to Leahy.
On Aug. 1, 2007, the Office of Security and Integrity’s Personnel Security Division was reorganized. The result was a move to centralize all federal and contractor suitability adjudication functions in Burlington, to improve efficiencies and cycle time in the adjudication process.
The current Burlington staff consists of six federal employees and 34 contractors. That will increase to 25 additional federal workers and 15 new contractors in the Burlington area. Those new employees are expected to start by December.
Gonzalez also said the “… additional resources specifically being provided to the Vermont Service Center are required to address the need to reduce waiting periods associated with the determination of benefits, as well as provide for the relevant training required to equip adjudications personnel with the requisite knowledge and skills to timely and accurately process the substantial and complex workloads that are administered through the Vermont Service Center.”
Leahy’s office said the new jobs were the result of the department’s recent hike in adjudication fees – passports, visa applications, changes in status applications, green card applications, and other records.
The federal government is using the associated income to fund the new positions, according to Leahy’s office.
Liz Gamache, interim St. Albans City manager, first learned the news from the Messenger on Friday afternoon. She was thrilled and welcomed the expansion wholeheartedly.
Gamache said downtown businesses would benefit tremendously with more employees in the area.
“To say that the addition of these jobs is a significant boost to the economic vitality of St. Albans is an understatement,” Gamache said in a prepared statement. “This underscores the importance of developing and marketing the City of St. Albans to be an attractive prospect to employers.”

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNEED HELP!! Interview less than a month away.
Fellow VJers,

My Fiance recently went to the medical office her work has for her. The x-ray they took showed, as written by the radiologist "suggestive of PTB". When she goes to St Lukes for her exam and if they find the same thing, what will happen? Will this delay our process? She has no medical history of TB. Living in Manila, she is at high risk for exposure. Do we need to submit anything to extend our NOA2 approval which expires on 31 April 2013?

If they require her to get treatment, can she do get her treatment here in the US? I am a Navy Nurse and work in a major hospital, so medical care here is not an issue.

Don't want to get ahead of myself. We just found out today. Any assistance in this matter is GREATLY appreciated!!

Cheers,

Nolan

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNeed advice, still have USPHS Envelope

Fellow VJers, I need some advice. My Fiancee arrived in Florida this week (FINALLY!!!). When she gave me her paperwork I noticed that there was still a sealed brown envelope labled USPHS. She underwent the TB treatments in Manilla, so I figure its her records for the treatment.

My question is what to do with the envelope now? Do I send it in with her AOS paperwork or do I need to send it to USCIS now? I thought the POE in GUAM would have taken it from her.

Cheers,

Nolan

So. I play on a soccer team with a REALLY nice gey named Amhed from Morocco! He's invited my husband and I to a shared Ramadan dinner at this mosque this weekend....

I can't wait :) It sounds fun.

Just thought I'd share my excitement. I still don't know how you ladies do it!! I'll partake in the end celebration or whatever...but I'd last maybe 30 mins on fasting.

:) I admire you all!

Middle East and North AfricaHalloweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen
eh. not too interesting - just a super paranoid, bridezilla bride...

the three of us just commented that she was having a lot of showers (7 including an out of town bachlorette weekend) and she flipped out...

Also - she was flipping out and having us do all this stuff in May when her wedding was in Jan...I mean showers and all.

it was odd.

Oh well. She'll be happy. She's booked the church TWICE in the past two years...both times before she was ever engaged. The first one didn't "take"....luckiuly the second one did...since the church was already booked.

JP that sounds awesome.

My three friends and I, who all got kicked out of the same wedding, are wearing our bridesmaids dresses that we bought and now can't return...or wear in the wedding.

We are wearing them, with devil horns and a tail...to be "evil bridesmaids"

it's fitting :)

Middle East and North AfricaUsing a lawyer
I know my case was different as I wasn't filing from a ME country BUT we almost hired a lawyer too - even had a consultation. He knew our WHOLE case and never even MENTIONED DCF...which through Australia is pretty commonplace....

Good thing I found this site or I would have wasted many months, and thousands of dollars.

Middle East and North AfricaFamily not being able to come to wedding
I didn't have any family at my wedding - it was in Australia. I was really crushed at first. I mean, I 'm the girl, I should have family there...but I quickly got over it. All I wanted was to be married to him...and I realized it really didn't matter WHO was there.

I'm sure that he'll realize that too - and be fine. If he has any friends at all stateside - invite them - that's a great idea!

good luck :)

Middle East and North AfricaMonday
wellll...let's see. We really didn't DO anything. Friday night we were supposed to go to a party at a co-workers, but when we re-read the invite it started at 10 pm!!! That's like - WAY past my bed time - so we just stayed in, watched tv and snuggled...Saturday we went to the home and patio show - my cousin had a booth there, and we went to some seminars.

We saw Mad Dog and merrill talk about grilling - which hubby loved, and then saw Andrew Firestone (from the Bachelor) talk about Wine and pairing with cheese. It was actually really interesting. We also saw lots of booths about home improvement, etc etc

We went to a late lunch, played some trivia, and went home for another early night.

Sunday we did laundry (literally...dirty minds!!) and watched football - where the jags beat the jets 41-0!!!!! and hung out, grilled out for diner and then went to play soccer! Our team one 12-1 and I scored three goals.

I think what REALLY made it great was that usually I can't sleep in on weekends for various reasons - but we got to sleep in BOTH days!

So doing nothing, really made it a great weekend :)

Oh pumpkin ice cream...I've never had that sounds yummie!!! I have been having something called "pumpkin fluff" at night. It's a weight watcher's recipe and it goes like this:

one pkg ff sugarfree butterscotch pudding mix
one pkg ff sugarfree vanilla pudding mix
2 cups 1% milk
1 can pumpkin
1 tsp pumpkin spice (or mix cinnamon and nutmeg if you don't have pumpkin spice)

been on WW for ages.

I can CERTIFY that this is AWESOME. if you like pumpkin pie, you'll LOVE this. I sometimes save my points and will use nilla wafers with it as "crust"

It's SOOOO GOOOD
