The police certificate you submitted is incorrect.  The letter should be issued verifying that the search of the police records was based on a fingerprint search and not on a Name Check as they did for you.  Your police report and the fingerprint chart are being returned to you by mail today to obtain the proper documentation.

This whole process is ridiculous, I've been told or read 3 different things on official websites etc. Here's what I did.

I went with the national fingerprint check after what I saw another user here post, I took a gamble and didn't want to risk copping a RFE because I only had a name check completed. I also e-mailed the embassy and received a reply 7 days later telling me the national name check certificate was all that was required. According to the Sydney Embassy page, and based on my history, I would have needed 4 police certs. One each for VIC, NSW, QLD and the UK. I'm glad all they do is a national check now...the embassy really needs to update that page!

As I'm in NSW I used this on-line form: https://npcoapr.poli...troduction.aspx. If you can't use the on-line form then you need to print off a copy of the P799 form and fill that out and take it to the police station with your ID, this is also where you make your payment. Don't forget your receipt.

I submitted the online form (make sure you take note of your document ID, I don't have a printer so saved a local copy and sent it to my phone so I had a reference), called the police station and went in for my finger prints. If your local police station has prisoner holding cells then you need to call them first before you go there to make sure there's no prisoners in the cells so you can get your digital prints completed. The digital machine is a tempremental thing too. If you are having ink or wet prints done you can do this at any police station.

Almost 4 weeks after submitting my digital fingerprints I received a letter telling me that they failed and I needed to do it again. So after a lot of profanity I went back and had my ink prints done. The police gave me the prints and I forwarded them to Criminal Records myself, which I apparently wasn't allowed to do. From what I've been told we aren't allowed to have a copy of our own fingerprints. The very helpful woman at criminal records pushed it through in 2 days for me and rang me yesterday to say she had sent it to my home address.

Something to note. Every police officer I spoke to had a different idea about what needed to be done with these prints. Make sure you tell them it's for a national fingerprint check and needs to be sent to criminal records in Parramatta (If you're in NSW of course, otherwise make sure you know where the criminal records department is in your state), I told one officer it was for a USA visa and he tried to get me to contact the embassy and get a form for the FBI instead...strange.

Sorry for waffling on...I hope some of that helps...

wow what a run around well i m glad you got it done ,

and called the criminal records place they were really helpful to me too cause mine where wrong the first to also.

FYI  - Im from PARRAMATTA smile.pngdancin5hr.gif

Australia and New ZealandNSW Police Check - Which Form?
hey guys , it clearly states you need to get a fingerprint police report , its more in detail
you have to go into a police station and fill out forms show 100 points of ID and $140 ( name check and fingerprints)
and they send it to the Australia federal police and they put the name check and fingerprints on the same page.
I found out the hard way when i emailed the embassy and this is what they wrote me .

Thank you for your recent inquiry.

As you reside in South Australia, the National Police Certificate & Fingerprint Checks (NPC) will only be prepared for those people who reside in South Australia. South Australian residents living overseas should refer requests to the Australian Federal Police website or via e-mail at vetting@afp.gov.au. Residents of other states should direct enquiries to the police service of the state or territory in which they reside.

The standard timeframe to process a NPC is between 5-15 working days. The fee for a National Police Certificate & Fingerprint Check is A$140 (subject to change, please check current fee direct with SA police).

Thank you for your recent inquiry.

You may only use the Australian federal police certificate if it clearly states that it was based on a fingerprint check. If it states it is based on a “name check” then we are unable to accept it.

USCIS Service CentersREQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION!

Hey guys!

So this morning I wake up to two new status updates (text) for my EAD and my Travel document.

The status of my AOS remains the same? It seems weird to me that they would need additional evidence!?
Everything is there! Has anyone else had this and can they tell me what happened next and how it effected their waiting period?

Thank in advance!

Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)Any Dutch/American couples??

Hey guys!

Here an update about our current situation!

I moved to America on April 7th and got married on April 11th! :) (YAY!)

We sent all the paperwork for the Adjustment of Status (AOS) including the Application for the Employment Authorization Document (EAD) and the Application for Travel Document. They received it on May 30th and got NOA's on June 16th.

Then I got a letter with an appointment notice for the biometrics. I received this on June 19th and had my appointment July 8th.

I completed that and now we're waiting again. Anyone know if we had to do something after the biometrics? Like sent it somewhere of does that all go automatic?

I'm glad to hear that so many of you have been approved and are one step closer to living with their loved ones.

Also I want to say R.I.P to the victims of the horrible plane crash on July 17th. Stay strong to anyone who is closely effected by this.

Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)Any Dutch/American couples??

Hey guys,

So we got an email saying it's sent to the NVC now we wait, again! :) I have a couple of questions though:

I'm trying to prepare for package 3 already because somethings take forever to be mailed where i'm from. Is it okay if I do that though? I want to go and get my birth-certificate and my police records (I also take it that that is here named the VOG?) I'm not divorced nor am I a widow so do I check that mark on the checklist that I will be getting from the consulate? Can I already make an appointment for my medical? Like, basically, what all can I do before I even received Packet 3? :) Also, do I need multiple birth-certificates and VOGs? One more: it says we need the original I-129f forms but we sent them to the USCIS and we didn't make copies. My computer crashed so I have none of my files anymore, or do they get them and am I simply worrying about nothing?

Thanks guys, I know it's not really topic related but since there is Dutch citizens like myself in this topic I figured maybe I could bent the rules a little, tiny bit :)

Hey guys,

So we are still gathering all the information from our co-sponsor but he's having some questions;

He went to his bank to get a statement and they want to charge him 5$ per page they told him he could also print out the information online.
Do you guys know if this will do as a statement? He'll be able to print out how much he deposited for the past 12 months and I believe it also states

when he opened his account. We just want to make sure.

Thanks in advance, all of you have been VERY helpful!
