May I escort you over to the February group so you can motivate them? I am sure that they will love you WAY more than we ever could!

Just teasing you!

But, having said that - I am sure that you are aware that no one wants to be "out of the way" more than we do. It's stressful enough without the negativity......know what I'm saying? Now, here's a nice good-bye ((hug)) and off you go to motivate the February filers and your fellow April filers!

Thank you for your kind words, you're such a nice Southern Lady... devil.gif

Awwww....and I was just now feeling guilty and getting ready to send you an apology and explain that the stress is getting to me. Actually, I am pretty nice and my biggest problem is I "shoot from the lip" a lot. Sorry, sorry, sorry. You are waiting just like the rest of us - I just never thought about going and telling the January group to get their asses in gear and get it moving! Hmmm......I wonder if it would work?

LOL, I told the February group that "Since February wasn't a 'REAL' month, that we should just skip them entirely" smile.gif

Go Richard, Go Richard!!! I laughed out loud at that!!!

By the way - I looked (I am so ashamed) again and we moved to August 10th!! I know I am an idiot but I am pretty excited to move forward a whole day!!

Hi all smile.gif

Im so excited to have found this posting for all the March 2009 filers, so now we can all share our experiences. I definitely feel that all I can think about everyday is this K1 visa...

I was wondering if anyone who filed in March received a NOA2 yet? According to the timeline on this site, those of us who filed at the California Service Center should be receiving them around the next of couple weeks. Our I-129F packet was received March 16, and I received in the NOA shortly afterwards stating it was received on the 16.

From looking ahead to the I-134 Affidavit of Support form, what should you do if you are still enrolled as an undergraduate student and are not working. I am actually studying abroad in Italy (for the 2008-2009 school year), and have gotten an extension to remain in Italy as a student until the start of winter quarter (Jan 2010), just so I can be with my fiance. Both of my parents are fine with the idea, and I plan on having my mom be a co-sponsor, since I dont currently work. Does anyone know if our visa will be rejected on the basis that I do not yet work (since Im still finishing up school), BUT my mom's income fulfills the 125% income level? This is one of the most pressing concerns I have about our petition. I mean I'm going to get my B.A. from the University of California Santa Barbara in June 2010, so it's not probable that I'm going to end up working in a fast-food chain. Do you think the US Consulate Officers in Italy will take that into account?

I know our story is a bit different. We met August 29, 2008, and two months later we moved into an apartment together, just the two of us, since we spent every single night at each other's apartments anyways. I even sent in our lease as proof of having met in person, but I didn't get it translated into English though. sad.gif Then in January after we visited his mom and step-dad, he surprised me by taking me to the jewelry shop and told me to pick a ring, and that's how he popped the question smile.gif

Anyways, we are planning on changing apartments in September from the one listed on the I-129F. Does anyone have an idea of what we should do to let USCIS know our current address? I'm hoping that we get the go ahead from the NOA2 before we change apartments.

Also, my fiance is eligible to become an Italian citizen and thus travel to the US on the Visa Waiver Program, since his mom married an Italian and she was sworn in as a citizen 10 years ago. Does anyone know how long it takes from the date of request to receiving Italian citizenship? It's frustrating that after 5 years of living in Italy, he never got around to asking for citizenship, since with his current passport from the Dominican Republic, he can't enter the US without a visa... Also, does anyone know how he could get the Certificado de No Antecendentes Judiciales without traveling to the DR? He lived there until he was 17yrs old before coming to Italy, so I believe it will be needed...

I hope I didn't write or ask too much, and that I made some sense. It's just relieving to be posting in a place where everyone else knows exactly what you are going through... Good luck to all of us and I look forward to reading any responses smile.gif

Hi and Welcome!! And good luck to you too! You may want to join the California March group, you will probably have more in common with them than with us, we are Vermont Service Center filers. You can find the California group HERE. Just click the link and it will take you there.

No, we haven't received a NOA2 yet, no one in our group has. We don't expect to be approved until sometime in July/August.

Good luck to you. It feels that California has a faster approval time but I don't know anymore......when you are waiting, time feels slow no matter what! Good luck!

Found this really fitting quote this morning...

I don't see California approving anything any faster. I see the averages, and until we get the NO2, we are still a part of the same waiting-game. It sucks. I mean think about it, we are all on here because we want support and direction. Some have personal obstacles that are keeping them apart, and the rest of us are just plagued with the USCIS dictating when we can go on living again. None of it is fair... Our timeline does not show anything right now.

http://www.visajourn...h...&page=times

No offense, but in my book average of 83 days (CSC) vs. 124 days (VSC) is faster.

Thank you for finally seeing that the averages are simply that - an average based on past numbers and dates. Until more CSC people start receiving approvals, we are all on the same timeline. This is bullocks (as Vik would say). Waiting and waiting and waiting does get you you, and i'm sorry my friend, but your journey has just begun.

-Kam

Kam - will you post pictures of your wedding and the preparations? You are gorgeous and I am dying to see things along the way. When I was 12, I lived in South Carolina and my best friend was from India.....we used to dress up in her mom and grandmother's saris and wear all of her jewelry and pretend we were princesses. I bet you will look like a princess too. Please post photos??

I have looked and looked at the numbers, the averages, the timelines.....I am blink.gif from looking for answers. I would have better luck asking my poor old dog what SHE thinks about all of it!

It is what it is. I'll whine, cry and complain but it's not changing a thing.

Here's what I need from ya'll right now and I promise to do the same for you. I need a cheerleader. I need to know that when I feel aggravated about it all and I feel miles and miles apart from my loved one - Im not alone. Skype, instant messenger, phone calls, letters, cards, all of it helps but just having you guys here with me, that helps too.

The weekend is coming up....AGAIN. On the one hand, that's good. Time is moving and it's moving relatively fast. On the other hand, I am in my "I hate seeing happy couples at the mall" phase again because I am sooo jealous and want Lars here.

I am so happy to have you guys here with me right now. I'm extending my arms for a virtual ((((((hug))))) to all of you, waiting SUCKS!!!!

'mornin Richard. I agree with you, I have done the same math gymnastics and logically - it just makes sense. However, it is torture to go and check "the list" and see duplicate entries, people that don't update their timelines......and only a few approvals every few days. Every day I say I will not look, I will not look...and then I look.

Okay, off to not look. Have a great day ya'll. Think I got the listing yesterday, I go back tonight to see them again.

P.S.
Keeping ya'll informed on what's going on with HUD and houses and the housing market in general - we got this announcement last night from our Coldwell Banker Corp. office -

HUD made an announcement on May 12 and I in turn sent you a copy of the release that was on Realtor.org that they were going to allow homeowners to use the $8000 tax credit as down payment monies by empowering state agencies, non profits and HUD approved Mortgagees to lend the monies to home buyers. HUD drafted HUD Mortgage Letter (2009-15), however, the letter was never officially released. HUD has since reversed their position on allowing the monetization of the tax credit over concerns that the proposal too closely resembles the now illegal practice of seller funded down payment assistance programs. IRS officials were also concerned that the proposal could create income tax issues.

The government may continue to seek other alternatives associated with boosting affordability and circumventing the 3.5% down payment requirement, but until further notice they have apparently killed this initiative.

I think that this will keep a lot of first time home buyers out of the game for now. What we see a lot of here are are younger buyers, medical students, etc., just out of school and most have good credit but not a lot of cash reserves. Allowing them to use the tax credit as a downpayment would have gone a long way towards stimulating the housing market nationwide. I wonder what's next....

I know I am beating a dead horse here but....here is what I think. I belive that Vermont is still going to approve most of us within the 100 - 115 day range. What's throwing our numbers off is the one MAY filing that was approved and the November filers that were recently approved. If you remove those red herrings from the numbers, we are still on track.

Okay, I have pumped myself up for the day and I am NOT going to look again until tonight. Yeah....right! Off to a listing appointment. I'm competing with another agent, wish me luck!

Yes trying to plan a wedding while dealing with USCIS is beyond frustrating. I think everything would just feeel so much better if we had a DATE or a better IDEA of WHEN we can get married.

Question for everyone: Who here has a lawyer? I'm curious who else is using one.

My lawyer says I can't give my fiance the stuff (the 'what to send to your fiance after you receive NOA2 stuff') listed on visa journey, he says HE has to mail it to my fiance himself. But I was going to give my fiance everything in person next time I see him to save the postage (mailing everything to denmark will be so expensive!).

I am using an attorney... mostly because I found VJ after hiring them... but they have been pretty good so far... IF you give your SO everything... then your attorney doesn't feel like they have done their job smile.gif and might have an attack of conscience and want to refund your money! no0pb.gif no0pb.gif no0pb.gif no0pb.gif

rofl.gif Not any lawyers I have ever known!!

Welcome Giulia to the March family!!!! Well this waiting and waiting and waiting really is, not only stressfull but emotionally draining as well... Let's all keep our spirits high and our minds busy....
Missmissy Im so happy your daughter is spending time at your house, that is going to help you cope with all this process really well...
In my case, my fiance hired a lawyer and it was a relly smart thing to do, because since they deal with this processes every day it will prevent us to get a RFE, and will simplify the process (I hope!!!! )
The only thing I dread is that, from what I have been reading in the forums, I have to go to the worst Consulate in the world: Guayaquil. Everybody agrees that the presence of the petitioner is MANDATORY, because all sorts of awfull things had happened there!!! so, that is one mor expense to this already expensive process, not to mention extra stress...
Sometimes I feel Im loosing it and last week it was a hard time for me and my fiance due to the pressure. We only need to keep in mind that is is the door to be with the love of your life and that is going to pay off latter when we all are happy and really appreciating what we have since it was so hard to get.
Congratulations to all of us, because this type of process is only for extraordinary, strong and faithfull people.
heart.gif

I have to agree that this is one of the most stressful things I have ever been through. I am so glad that Maggie is here now and I am really happy that Lars and I can talk every day, many times via skype and the webcam and just chat.....it does help. I am a big cry baby though and not a very patient person, so I complain a lot. I am so grateful for all of you guys though. It really helps to come here to my March family and just be with ya'll. Awww....pass the kleenex please!

I interviewed THREE and decided to not use one. I used to be a paralegal and figured I could do this myself and I am really glad that I did. In my opinion, a lawyer would have delayed us even further....and I beg to differ with your lawyer about who can mail packet 3....

I wanted to go to Vegas or Florida or some kind of destination but I have three grown children and a sick mother that would KILL me if I just ran off. We are having a very small ceremony and then a party after at my sister's house. She and her partner have a house on Dog River in Mobile and a big yard and it's the perfect place for a good old fashioned "throw down" (that's southern for party - in case ya'll didn't know)

Dealing with the waiting, the changing timelines, the waiting, the waiting.....Lars will be lucky if I have my sanity by the time we are together again!

On a happier note - My daughter, Maggie is here with me for a week! She just turned 22 and is here visiting before she starts summer session of college. I am SO happy to have her here with me right now, she helps keep me busy and thinking about other things and it is absolutely WONDERFUL to not come home to an empty house at night and have someone to eat dinner with! Yay for Maggie!!

Yeah, let's talk about something else... like exercise smile.gif Or all those houses you are selling!!!! or maybe snakes

Everyone I know has had a ball with the snake story....that is SO last weeks news!

I guess the change in our numbers has more to do with more filers appearing now. I mean, when we started there were less than 70 of us and now there's 81. The bigger our family is, the longer it will take?

As for the real estate market, it's time it picked up. First timers are really starting to get interested in the tax credit since it was announced that it could be used as a down payment. I am very happy to stay busy right now, it makes the time go by faster, sort of.

I was not able to learn anything. I was told that the visa should be processed normally. The background check will be for the UK, but he would interview with the Indian Consulate... so it seems that everything is fine. Except this waiting game is starting to take a lot out of me...

On a positive note, I'm going to India with my mom to do wedding shopping (June 28-July 5th), and he will be coming too! Haven't seen him since March 3rd. sad.gif

YAY for you guys! I am so envious of all of the March fam that gets to see their SO's! But, I'm happy for ya'll too. Are you going to have a big and fabulous wedding?

I haven't seen Lars since January 13th and likely won't see him again until I go over for the interveiw. I am so ready for this to be done. I've warned everyone - don't expect to see us for a while!
