I'm right there with you, Missy. I wonder if they aren't worried about quotas. If they do too many one month, they'll be expected to do that many next month.

Venting is totally cool as far as I am concerned. If anyone gives you the "I waited blah blah blah" and basically "stop whining" (It's usually the same people who post things like that) - then what I do is go check their early posts and see what they were doing at the same time in the process. It can be pretty entertaining. wink.gif

I adore you! I read those too and you are so right about the entertainment factor. And I thought I was the only one that did that!

Missy, I downloaded the last 3500 K1 applications from Igor and massaged it a little... I seems, after looking at the data, there is a trend in early May that approvals seems to stop until the 10th-13th. Obviously I don't know why, but maybe they are processing other things? They pick up after the 10th... go figure.... KFC yum... I made Polish Zurek and am having that for lunch... I made extra... OK, I made a gallon extra, so I will share smile.gif

If I only knew what Polish Zurek was.....sigh....let me google that and I'll let you know if it's something I can make a run to ATL for.

Edit - googled it and HEY!! We had something like that when we were in Russia. Very delicious! I have to show a few houses today and am listing one this afternoon or I'd make a road trip!!

I am NOT complaining, really. But, when you look at the approvals ---->HERE<---- Does it feel like there are maybe 4 or 5 old ladies in some dark and dusty room, smoking, drinking coffee and playing solitaire on their computers and not even looking at our files??? Don't they have more than a few people working there? Shouldn't they be able to turn over more than one or two per week???? And, I'm not talking about January even.....I just wish ANYONE would get approved....anyone that's filed in the last year!

Okay, you can all go back to whatever you were doing, I feel better now. Just needed a personal moment to vent. laughing.gif

On a happier note, I downloaded the Oprah coupon for free KFC grilled chicken today and I'm blowing the diet and eating KFC!!!

Okay, this lack of approvals is going a little too far. I'm including a picture as gratitude for Missy sharing hers, and to scare the Visa Gods. If they don't start approving some soon, one in my miniskirt could be next.

Sounds like our math basically agrees, Missy. I am thinking about the same timeframe. Although I try to tell myself it'll be mid-July, I can't help but think it should be late June.

Glad to hear you're staying busy. If real estate is starting to move again, that's great news for all of us!

Here in Jackson, we are very lucky - we haven't been hit as hard as some of the other markets. But, having said that - yesterday we pulled the numbers for the last three years, by month and yearly totals and we could see the move up and then down and now back up again. First quarter 2009 has been awful but it's slowly creeping up. When people start buying houses again, consumer confidence starts going up and that helps everyone. Now, if we can just get Fox and MSNBC on board and convince them to stop with the doom and gloom.....

I'm starting to get the idea that they enter a worst case date in the beginning and then adjust closer to a more realistic date, so folks don't get overly hopeful of a fast process from the outset. But just my thoughts. My date has been slowly getting closer as well, but don't see how that can be based on the most recent numbers. Even considering last Thursday's success, the number for the week wasn't very impressive.

Based on the average approval days that I have seen for most of the January filers so far.....it's about 105 days, I had already estimated that we should receive NOA2 sometime around end of June, first of July....so I'm good. I was just counting up the days and it's only 67 more days until July 12th and I don't know about the rest of you guys, lately time seems to be flying by here! I have a ton of stuff to do before Lars comes home again and the real estate market is picking up (I'm a realtor) so I've been BUSY!

Our estimated approval date jumped two days this morning

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between July 12, 2009 and July 21, 2009

When we started it was September 19th!!

There are probably fewer weeks remaining until the NOA2 than months you've been apart. Try to talk to her and see if she will come around. We all go through periods of burn-out during this waiting game, and it would be a shame to quit when the finish line is in sight. If you love her, fight to keep her. And if she still insists on ending the relationship, at least you'll know you did your part. Also, if you can't work this out, it could be for the best in the long-run since there will always be difficulty in any relationship. Best of luck and let us know how it goes.

Stan said everything I wanted to say, just better. He's rght. As a girl....sometimes that is what I wanted to hear - I won't let go, I won't give up. This may be just what she needs to hear right now.

Okay, I'll go first. This will pass. We've had problems come up because of the waiting, EVERYONE has. It's hard but it is worth it and this will blow over. The thing that the two of you need to do is talk about it, keep in touch. You are almost there. If you can encourage her to hang in there just a little longer, I am sure that you will be together before you know it.

Okay March family - help me out...how many of us have wanted to quit, for a minute or two, and then got back on this ride and kept on? I bet all of us have!

Hang in there.....tell her to come on here and we'll all encourage you!

The wait is so bad.. OMG

Richard did this for me so....here goes Carl, it helped me, it really did! rofl.gif

Missy<-----slaps Carl and tells him to get a grip!!! It's almost over! Now I want you and Stan to go hang out in the April and May group and tell them how easy the waiting is and how fast the time will go by and Stan, don't forget to teach them all how to read their timelines! It will make you feel better, I promise!

This would violate the rules. You have to wait until after you're approved before you can tell everybody the wait is easy and they need more patience. If you're still waiting yourself and you try that, it probably violates some rite-of-passage thing. It's like a hazing ritual where you first make it through the gauntlet and only then can you tell everyone else it was easy (and hope they didn't take pictures while you were doing it).

Gee.....Ididn't think of that....don't want any Aggressive Reactions from the geezers!

I talked to a supervisor at the NVC yesterday, trying to get answers to questions about changing our embassy for the interview. She told me that she has been seeing applications coming in from all different dates in the month. I just mentioned to her that we had filed in late March and she said it made no difference what day of the month we filed, it was all dependent on who gets our file. She told me to call them at least two times a day, morning and again in the afternoon, starting NOW, to check if they have our file yet. For us, to change to the Embassy in Brazzaville, Democratic Republic of Congo, we need to catch it before it goes to Copenhagen. She said that I could call as many times a day as I wanted, they didn't keep track of who calls or how many times.

I mention this because a bunch of the February filers were calling and suprised to find out that their applications had been sent to the NVC and they hadn't even received the NOA2 yet.

The supervisor I talked to was extremely helpful but I had to ask to talk to someone else. The first person I got on the phone was less than helpful and basically read from a script. I had to ask her if there was ANYONE there that could just answer a few questions - that's when I was handed off to the supervisor.

Just in case someone else needs to know how to change their embassy....I have to call and catch the file before it goes to Copenhagen and once they have it I have to email them a copy of Lars' visa for Congo, his work authorization and address. They in turn send it on to Brazzaville. IF I don't catch it in time, then I have to contact the embassy in Brazaville and they request that it be sent to them from CPH. No matter what, she recommended that I notify Brazzaville that it's coming as soon as we know that it's been approved and sent to NVC. The biggest problem we will have in all of this is scheduling the interview. Brazzaville just re-opened their embassy in January 2009 and they are a tiny, tiny place. The supervisor thinks it may take months to get an interview. I didn't tell Lars or my familhy that....yet. An entire wedding was planned for Thanksgiving.....geez, I hope we make it!

Ya'll have a great Tuesday!!

Lars accepted a job in the Congo, he's pretty excited about it too! I can't go with him right away but plan on going next year for sure. We are still going forward with the K1 and plan on getting married in November if we can get everything done in time, and then applying for advance parole so he can go on back to work. It's complicated but.....that's life!

So you'll get married in the states, get the AP, he goes to the Congo, and you follow later - is that right? Sounds like a plan.

And I understand complicated. It looks like Amy will have some extra steps before the interview. But on a positive note, we found out about it now so we can get it started rather than waiting until the NOA2. If it was easy, anybody could do it............

I just talked to the NVC to get clarification about what exactly we need to do, they are VERY nice there. Yes, you are right, if it was easy, everyone would be doing this! We hope for a November wedding but....we'll see. I'm glad you guys are going to get your issues worked out, I am sure you were worried about it! Is she bringing any of her children with her? I bet that will be fun!!

My best wishes to everyone this week. People are being quiet, and I feel myself that it can be stressful reading all the back and forths about 'when??', etc. But we have to remember we are closer than EVER to being with our loved ones, and we hopefully can find some peace in that. That is what I wish for everyone right now: peace of mind. The process is our of our control and hopefully we can all find productive and positive ways to use this time. I know that's so hard, but it's my wish anyways for you all.

I hope everyone has a great day!

When are you going to Denmark? I am leaving on the 20th of July and will be there until the 6th of August. I've been working a lot trying to get things done before it's time to go AND I have to get Lars packed up and ready for the Congo. He leaves right after I do and goes straight over there. It's so much cheaper to buy everything here and just take it with me.

Hi Missy... yes, thank you, Joanna did make it... and the border patrol gave her NO problems and in fact asked to see her return ticket which is for July 8th and they went ahead and gave her until 12/21 to leave... go figure??? She can't stay because of the kids but it was pretty cool to see.. .since I really was expecting the worse.

If he comes then you could marry and file for AOS and advance parole. The advance parole processing time is 3 months.

It is valid for one year. An alien may make multiple entries into the U.S. within one year by using an Advanced Parole. Also, Advance Parole may be renewed.

The problem with this is that you need to prove that you lived together and all that stuff in the AOS interview.

Another option is to get married. The if you you go abroad you just apply for direct consular filing(YOu need to stay 6 months in the country where you will process the application)

Finally. I am in the position of your will be husband. I have decided that since I took the decision to marry in the USA with my will be wife, I will just concentrate in going to the USA. Unfortunately this process puts the present and future life on hold for about 2.5 years. It is a difficult decision to make. Every situation is different, but every single thing you decide now, will have an impact on your next 3-5 years.( and this is without considering the marriage part)

Thanks for replying - I think that what we will do is go ahead with the K1 and have him come back to get married and see my mother before she dies. After that, we may try for an expedited Advanced Parole or just abandon the entire thing and file CR1. We bought a house together, have joint bank accounts and we are OLD!!

You are not old.... I wish you the best on whatever decision you take. In the mean while we are on the same boat now....Waiting for NOA@2 smile.gif

Thanks! Lars said to me today that he wanted us to get married before November 27th - my birthday. When I asked him why he told me that he always wanted to marry a woman in her 40's! On the 27th....I'll be the big 5 0.

Honestly, he had made the decision to come here, find work here and we had a lot of plans! This just happened and.....we love to travel and with this job, we will be able to see things and go places that might have been out of reach for us otherwise and we do feel that we are young enough still to take full advantage of the benefits this job offers. It's complicated now but....it's also one big #### adventure and I'm more excited now than I have been in a long time. We finally feel that our lives are off of HOLD and back on GO!

Don't be hopeless Missy. Remember, a lot of people on Visa Journey don't know what they're talking about (shocking I know wink.gif They are not professional legal help. Just remember that. There are some wonderful things about Visa Journey, but sometimes there are too many (amateur) cooks in the kitchen if you know what I mean.

I know exactly what you mean! tongue.gif

Good morning March family! Richard, hope Joanna made it in alright! Well guys, I've had some big news of my own today - Lars took a job in Africa for two years! We are still going forward with the K1 but a lot of unanswered questions right now......a lot to think about! I'm excited and a little sad all at the same time. Hope ya'll have a great day!

Wow, that was unexpected! All will work out, I just know it!

VERY unexpected. I had posted a question just in the general K1 forum but the one answer I got makes it seem hopeless for right now. I hope we can figure it out!

Janus came to visit and it was the first time at the 'border' security ever asked 'have you ever applied for a visa'? The correct answer now is of course YES (because they see it on the screen when they scan the passport). Our lawyer prepared us for this though, so just a heads up to anyone whose love is coming over to visit.

Missy- are you going to Africa?

So he made it in okay, no problems? I bet you had a wonderful visit!! I am so jealous! star_smile.gif

Yes, I'll go to Africa.....but not right away. I hope to go with Lars in August to help him get settled there and to see everything but my mom is terminally ill and I can't move over there right now. This has put a kink in all of our plans. We are going ahead with the K1 and hopefully we will be married in November. Every third month he gets to travel anywhere he wants, paid for by his employer. Maybe next year I will move over there......it's exciting and scary all at the same time!

I wonder, does this mean I get to join the MENA forum???

pssst! We moved to #300 just now.....I promise, as soon as we are in the 200's (and STAY there), I'll quit talking about it so much. On a positive note, I sold a few houses this weekend so I'm feeling pretty good about that anyway! It's HOT here, 100 degrees is what the bank said the temp was. Is it hot where you are??
