Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAbout Affidavits!
The I-751 instructions say:

5. Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by at least two people who have known both of you since your conditional residence was granted and have personal knowledge of your marriage and relationship. (Such persons may be required to testify before an immigration officer as to the information contained in the affidavit.) The original affidavit must be submitted and also contain the following information regarding the person making the affidavit: his or her full name and address; date and place of birth; relationship to you or your spouse, if any; and full information and complete details explaining how the person acquired his or her knowledge. Affidavits must be supported by other types of evidence listed above.

I do not see where it says no relatives or you have to be a USC. It does not require you to put your citizenship, only your place of birth.

Please share where you find that it is best for a USC and should not be a relative. I send an affidavit from my son who lives with us. I personally think the more affidavits, the better. Not just two, but three, four, or five. It can't hurt.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAbout Affidavits!
Affidavits can be done by anyone, not just USC. We followed the sample on VJ. We did have it notarized even though it is not necessary for an affidavit.

You may want to go to My Assistant above and fill in your timeline. It sure is helpful in answering questions.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionprocessing times update
I don't understand why they can't update their processing times more often. It is very frustrating to check on them and they show the same thing. At least we are all moving closer to getting the 10 year GC. Hopefully, we will receive it by the end of the year. Good luck to all on your journey.

We did not highlight anything. If they need to make a copy of a document that is highlight, it doesn't work very good. We put ours together using the USCIS guide:

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionCAn name changes cause a problem with travel?
Colin and Jess,
You can travel anywhere in the US without a passport. You will only need your driver's license, credit card, money, money, and a little more money. Have fun and congratulations on your future marriage. Depending on age, you may need some type of identification to get into some places which require you to be 21. You can take her passport and your marriage license if you want.

I am confused. Who moved? You moved and you filed the AR-11. If your sponsor moves, the they file the I-865.

Are you saying you are filing the I-865 for your sponsor?

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionNeed help with some proof for I-751 Removal of Condition!
will the affidavits of income we submit to the government annually be ok. It does have me and my wifes name on it and is notarized. Or is it necessary for my mother to submit a letter stating we live with her and how much we pay for rent

I would send both. To me, there is never enough information to be send.

Also for joint personal checks for proof, should I send in originals with the words void on it or should i photo copy like 2 or 3 of them as said all documents must be copies!

They want copies of bank statements not checks. Send 3 or 4 from past two years.

You may also want to submit affidavits from friends or relatives to know both of you and can write about your marriage together.

Good luck.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionremoving conditions
Sorry about your problems. You can file jointly 90 days before the expiration date on your GC. If you file jointly, and then get a divorce, I think you will have to start over and pay again. You can wait until you are divorced and then file yourself.

Go to My Assistant above and fill in your Timeline.
Go to Guides above and read about filing.

Good luck in your situation and may it work out for the best of both of you.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 Removing Conditions....
First, go to My Assistant above and till in your Timeline.

Second, read the Guides above which has a lot of information.

Third, read on this forum and see what others have submitted. Make a list and see what else you need.

I would send the last two years of Federal and State Income Tax record. You can get Transcripts from IRS by phone.

I am sure you will find other things you may have missed. Christmas/birthday cards/letters mailed to both of you. Life insurance with the other as beneficiary.

Good luck on your journey.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionIRS transcripts or simple copy of tax return??
You have time to get the tax transcripts and apply. I think you can call 24 hrs a day and punch the right buttons on the 800#. Call now. We got ours in less than two weeks.
Good luck.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionStupid repeat question, probably
You can file 90 days before the expiration date on your GC. I would mail it on the 89th day before that date. I don't know how USCIS counts their days. Do not mail it early because you could get a RFE and slow down your process. Good luck on your journey.

Read the Guides above and read this forum. Search what others have done and make notes. Start preparing your papers now. Download the forms at the USCIS website. Fill them in now so you will know whether or not you have any questions. Before you file, check the forms again on USCIS. Sometimes they update them and will return your packet for out dated forms.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionCase Approved, But GC Card Still Not Received !
Please go to My Assistant above and update your Timeline.

You said your GC is expired. Do you not have a NOA which extends your NOA for one year? If that is what has expired, do no leave the country.

Get an INFOPASS and take all the information and NOA's and card ordered letter and get them to give you another extension. Then you can travel.

Good luck.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionHow ot know if been ''Touched"
From what I have read on VJ, Touches are almost worthless. It depends if your case is updated on the website. I don't even check on ours. I just depend on the mail service, for what it is.

Please go to My Assistant above and update your Timeline. It will help us answer your questions.

Good luck on your journey.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionStep daughter married before conditions are removed
Sorry for this situation. I would call the 800# and ask the question. I personally don't think it will interfere with the AOS. My step-daughter is getting married in July and she is on our I-751. She is 22 and will be 23 when she is married. In a way, I hope it takes until September at least for the 10 yr GC so she can send in her Marriage License to USCIS before it is approved so she will not have to pay for the Name Change on her GC.

Good luck and let us know what you find out. I will be affected by this also.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionBiometrics and Affidavit Question
The affidavits do not have to be notarized, but we did just to prove their signature was who they said they were. See the Guides above for example.

Yes, you have to pay for biometrics again and again for Citizenship. Sorry, they just like money.

Interview is not necessary for most.

Good luck.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAfter fingerprints?
You may want to go to My Assistant above and update your Timeline.

Fingerprints and then what? I presume you have just filed your I-751. I would think he also had his picture taken when he had his fingerprints. Next is wait for an RFE, possible Interview, It takes 3 months to a year depending on where you filed for your 10 year GC.

You may want to read the Guides above to answer a lot of your questions.

Also read, read, read the postings on VJ. A lot of valuable information.

Good luck on your journey.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionJob change and move while I-751 case pending
I would call the 800# and give them your new address.
I would mail a copy of the AR-11 to VSC.
You don't want USCIS to mail things to your old address. From what I understand, changing you address online or through the mail while you case is pending does not update your mailing address on your case. That is why I am suggesting you mail a copy of the AR-11 to VSC along with a copy of your NOA and identification numbers.

Good luck.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionHow Long Until I Hear From Them...
Try not to worry. It took my wife 10 days to get the NOA and my step-daughter 20 days. VSC is not always consistent. If you don't receive the NOA after 30 days, call the USCIS 800# and ask them about it.

Good luck in this process.
