I bought my materials from Tutuban and had my local seamstress make it. Total expenses ( wedding gown, veil and shoes ) was P5,000.00. My in-laws thought it cost me a thousand dollars to have it made because it turned out very beautiful.

Its not the price, but how you wear it.

Goodluck and congratulations on your incoming wedding.

exactly! its really how you wear it......i had my gown for 2,000Php....lol

wow. i took a look at your pic and your gown certainly doesn't look worth that. nice job!

VJ was not this bad during our time.. We are trying to help too.. but some filipina's here need to have dignity and respect for themselves in order to be respected by others. Some threads, are just nonsense which make every reply nonsense too and irrelevant. Forums are for public, and people from Philippines, from other countries can read it, which they can react and give opinion about it. Respect there opinion, rather than making a reply "calling names" "cussing" "filipinas talking in tagalog to talk bad things to others"... this is not right!

I hope everything will be back to normal.

that's a lot coming from someone whose husband posts comments such as "what a silly post", "what is felt?", & "what is spelt?". but that is, of course, just my opinion. innocent.gif

Aetna still exists in PI as is. my sister works there right now. she's a billing representative. although she's a registered nurse, she got employed there while she was waiting for the board exam results.

anyway, on topic:

School: University of the Philippines, Diliman, 07

Reasons: Writing is another talent of mine so a friend recommended me for the job, and I got hired nearly immediately.

So, my lazy fiance finally sent the stuff (proofs, forms, affidavit etc...) that i need from him for my interview on the 20th. YEP, the 20th! It is already April 9th, he said USPS guaranteed a delivery date of April 13 5pm the latest.

Are they really accurate with their guaranteed delivery? Anyone had experience on this?

should I start freaking out or maybe call USEM to reschedule? (dammit, my tix to manila are non-refundable, non-rebookable!)

here's the thing, USPS is not the issue. its the phil post... they're hit and miss... yes i got a letter before in w/ in a week using global express... but most of the time is either 2 weeks or a month or even 2... i really hope phil post will deliver it asap... esp if you're in the manila area... then its probably faster

so very true! it's the phil post that could cause problems. usps is nearly 100% accurate since they use hi-tech machines to sort out the mail. in the phils... oh they could take forever sometimes.

as they say, the key here is practice. make sure she's consistent with her answers and say them with conviction. you might be able to go with her in the interview but you can't always answer for her. anyway, good luck!

Would it hurt my fiance's chances to request an interpreter at the interview? She is much more comfortable speaking her language and isn't as likely to get confused. Do they look down upon this?

My fiancee had a interpreter and had problems as things can get mixed up in the process.
Better without one. Especially in the Philippines where most speak good English. COs can question how you communicate if you don't speak her language.

this is very true. it could be a red flag.

PhilippinesArranging Folders
hmmm. before i went to my interview, i found a blogger who recommended the best way to arrange them. i can't remember her website but i think the arrangement was based on the sequence of submission. the following is the best that i could remember:

at the entrance (guard):
letter from the embassy
valid ids

first booth:
the 3 forms
fees

pre-screener:
all the evidences
birth certificate
nbi/police clearance
affidavit of support
(pretty much everything)

consul officer:
whatever is left that will be asked

and by the way, i don't know about the others but i was asked to remove the documents from the folders i had. they compiled everything with their own folder.

hope that helps.

Philippinesa song for your partner
When I Met You by APO

There I was an empty piece of a shell,
Just mindin' my own world;
Without even knowin' what love and life were all about.

Then you came,
You brought me out of the shell;
You gave the world to me
And before I knew,
There I was so in love with you.

You gave me a reason for my being
And I love what I'm feelin'
You gave me a meaning to my life,
Yes, I've gone beyond existing
And it all began when I met you.

I love the touch of your hair
And when I look in your eyes
I just know, I know I'm on to something good

And I'm sure my love for you will endure
Your love will light up my world;
And take all my cares away with the aching part of me.

You gave me a reason for my being
And I love what I'm feelin'
You gave me a meaning to my life,
Yes, I've gone beyond existing
And it all began when I met you.

You taught me how to love,
You showed me how tomorrow and today
My life is diff'rent from the yesterday;
And you, you taught me how to love
And darling I will always cherish you
Today, tomorrow and forever.

And I'm sure when evening comes around
I know we'll be making love like never before;
My love, who could ask for more?

You gave me a reason for my being
And I love what I'm feelin'
You gave me a meaning to my life,
Yes, I've gone beyond existing
And it all began when I met you.
When I met you.

You gave me a reason for my being
And I love what I'm feelin'
You gave me a meaning to my life,
Yes, I've gone beyond existing
And it all began when I met you.
When I met you.
