US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionThanks to Everyone

Omid is correct in saying if your bringing a man over from Paksitan that you will have to endure long waits. All of us with SO or spouses coming from Pakistan have been on long roads.

Mary

First of all Marry I would thanx to you for welcoming me & Salma to the current forum and wishing us good luck. I believe thats true they grind the applications longer than they should especially if the male is the applicant. But I strongly believe that Allah has set time for each n every thing that has to haapen and will happen no matter what. So we must stay focused, together, must accept finite disappointment (if we have to come across, God may not) and must not lose infinite hope. Allah's help is just around the corner. Call and its there. We pray for you guys all the times all the way.

BIG GOOD LUCKS and May Allah the All Mighty help you all the way and keep you together forever...... (F)

wow your process almost took more than a year, Is it a normal timeline for isl embassy or is it only you?

hi there

Well I believe thats only me or us I would say because of some personal reasons we couldnt go ahead for a few months. Even our petition went to Islamabad embassy very fast, faster than many of the VJ passangers. When I sent the papers to the embassy it just took totally 4 days to send that intrview letter and date. So we are lucky somehow as far as the speed was concernd so far, Lets see what comes up next as I am getting ready to coup with it.

Thanx and Big Good Lucks to you guys

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDS-230 Form? Necessary for K-1????

On the guides section here it is in the downloadable forms for the K-1, but it says it's the "Application for Immigrant and Alien Registration". Does this apply to us going through the K-1 process? I thought they were entering as "non-immigrants"???????? I know the DS-156's do, but does this particular one???

Thanks for your help! :)

First of all Congrads!

I believe you are talking about the Packet 3 forms. I sent that to the embassy too but they later returned it back to me. I dont think they will be needed that. Yes the K1 is the non immigrant visa. So this form will be used in the US when U will apply for the AOS.

Good Luck

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionthe interview letter
Hello everyone

I have a fast and small question "Does the embassy ask for the passport for the interview for K-1 visa. In case if they do then they keep it with them during the security checks performed on the applicant or not"?

Thank you all

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresthe requirement for sponsoring Fiance
hi fellows! :help:

I have a question that I heard if a US Citizen is sponsoring fiance (K1 Petition) he or she needs to have police clearance certificate from the US Police too. Is this true? I went through the USCIS web site (www.uscis.gov) but found no such an info.

Please update me about this new law (if there is any)

thanks!

At the very bottom page of her blog, she talks about the track back, I think that is what it's called, Anyway, she noticed that someone from the Dept of Homeland security was reading their blog. She didnt know if she should be happy or scared. She also saw that her congressmans office was reading the blog, so maybe they can get some help.

Meriem

Meriem,
Yes DHS spent a lot of time on the website.. and it was scary as hell but till now nothing has happened from their end.
Someone from the CAPITOL came and spend a lot of time as well but they have not returned or contacted us about anything.
Recently, somone from the St. Louis Chapter of the Red Cross has spent almost 10 hours total on our blog as well as a supporting blogs.. but they have not contacted us either.

We use Statcounter to let us know what has visited our blog.

I found this blog yesterday. It is so sad that something like this could happen. Her husband of 7 years that had been in the US legally for twenty something years (has a GC) was arrested by ice, threatened, tortured, and deported. The woman's father had contacted immigration and told them that the husband had ties to terrorism. The father was angry because his daughter reverted to Islam. What is sad is they had 2 little children at the time.

Dear Meriem,
thank you for posting our blog on this site..we are the family ... Please do feel free to ask us anything about our situation.
we have a number of vidoes now on Youtube under the same ID..

Yes, I was Arrested .. and tortured by ICE WITHOUT any reason and in the end I asked to be sent back to Pakistan where I had not been in over 25 years..

I do not know anyone here and for the past 3 years it has been close to hell!

Someone here mentioned that Pakistan would be the same after that long.. unfortunately that is not the case.
Since I have been here I have gone thru one MOCK EXECUTION and Rose has been threatened to be kidnapped by a Minister here.

We had no options left other than to get Rose and the Kids here and somehow make it here.

After Obama came to office we deicided to talk about our story initially on YouTube in case we can get the Medias attention but till now nothing has happened.

Someone else has called it a "RANT" againt Bush.. yes! it can be considered a rant!! After days of Torture due to BUSH approved policies.. I do have every right to place the blame where it belongs.

Please ask us any questions you might have.. and if you can help in anyway (best being getting the word out) please do.

A lot of people we have met on line have checked our story out and have decided to support and help us in recent days.
please contact us on the same ID on Yahoo we are here quite often to answer any questions. We can also cam / talk on skype.

Regards and thank you
