US Citizenship General DiscussionN-400 January 2013 Filers
Hello everyone! Recently discovered this site. Is it still possible to be added to the list? I mailed my N-400 on Jan 31. Received text and e-mail from USCIS on Feb 8 that it was received and Form I-797 to follow in mail. Checked status on USCIS and saw that case was in 'Initial Review' and that on Feb 8, an appointment notice to have fingerprints taken was mailed. Received both I-797C NOA on Feb 11, one a Receipt dated Feb 7 and the other a Biometrics Notification dated Feb 8. Biometrics Appointment scheduled for Mar 8. Thank you all in advance!

USCIS Service CentersPoverty levels going up

Until they are updated here: http://www.uscis.gov...form/i-864p.pdf the original poverty guidelines exist. USCIS goes by the link attached.

I should have used 'pending' and not new, as in updated.

USCIS Service CentersWhy are they still in august?

Yeah to be honest i was waiting to get it in May, but omg...by now they should be in another month, not August, i think i will be waiting until september or more...so yes frustrating VERY.

And unfortunately i was told by a lawyer that it was better if i didnt. :(

I think that lawyer was being rather cautious to possibly prevent a denial at the POE.

Yes it will be awhile before you get an approval, CSC is rather slow.

I know it's frustrating, but your frustration will be compounded if you consistently monitor the month
CSC is working on. Try to stay busy and focus your attention elsewhere.

Good luck!

USCIS Service CentersWhy are they still in august?

I am a little frustrated and worried about this CSC situation, since february 10th or before that they have been working on August?. By now, i believe they should be moving to September...How much longer do we have to wait?

Ps. I am a December filler.

I miss my husband and the sad part is that my tourist visa will expire this month (of course i havent travel to the US cause i was told that could just bring problems to us) and he cant come to see me because of his work.

You're just reached the 3 month mark and you're frustrated? I think you better save your frustration for the 6 month or beyond mark.

"How much longer so we have to wait?" Please realize it's normal to get an approval 6 months or more for a IR-1/CR-1?

You could've used your B1/B2 visa to visit your husband -- provided you came prepared with proof of strong ties to your country
in case you needed to prove you would not be staying.

USCIS Service CentersVSC Updated their processing times page, and it's not pretty

How ya doin Abq? Socorro here. Domt pay too much attention to those processing dates. They're just estimates. I have seen some get approved in 2 months, 3 months. Its justthe luck of the draw. Good luck to you.

And others have been approved in 16 days, 33 days and 3 months. USCIS is all over the place at times, watching those stats is about as exciting and revealing as watching paint dry.

USCIS Service CentersVSC Updated their processing times page, and it's not pretty

I'm pretty sure you should just ignore that website for your sanity and also the fact that it's not always accurate... It will be between 4-6 months for most ppl to get NOA2. Don't worry!

USCIS Service CentersVSC Updated their processing times page, and it's not pretty

Regardless of the projections from VJ or from USCIS itself, they'll still get to my case exactly when they get to my case, and not a day sooner, so what is the use of getting tied up in knots about projections or estimates? There is still a wide range of normal, and no way at all to predict when your particular case will be adjudicated. So...meh?

USCIS Service CentersVSC Updated their processing times page, and it's not pretty

i guess some are true & some are not. we're still waiting for our noa2 since september so turning 8th month on the next month. & heard someone are still waiting on the said filed month. but some got there approvals already since january (on their 4th month). i dunno if that's true but could be for some. service requests doesn't help much so all we need to do is WAIT. still hoping for the best result after this loooooong wait.

You really have a good attitude about the process, even though you're at the 7th month mark. You've exhibited tremendous patience - however, after 7 months of waiting, you're justified in making some calls to get an update about your petition.

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)DOS lady is a YOU KNOW WHAT!!!!!

I think that is my biggest issue here...that she was rude as all get out....This journey is hard enough, a little compassion would be great...but I know that is not going to happen :/

I am in total agreement with you. You would think those folks would have had some training on how to exhibit compassion, show sensitive toward stressed and anxious beneficiaries/petitioners in this process.

Maybe they have had such training, I do not know...guess I can dream.

Keep your head up and stay positive!

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)DOS lady is a YOU KNOW WHAT!!!!!

You are right...It just took me by surprise that she said something to me....I'm glad that they are not decision makers..I wouldn't want her to do something to our case just because she was tired of hearing my voice today! hahhahaha

I'll just stop calling them for awhile....since there is nothing they can help me with anyways

That is probably a good idea, because it will not move the process along any faster, plus you will just get worked up and annoy someone eventually...which has happened. However, I do not agree with her handling of the call, she could have been more polite.

Eleven (11) weeks in Juarez... hell 11 minutes is too long in Juarez!
Tell her to personally go to the Embassy and talk to someone there.

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)I-212 Case. Is she barred for life?
This is not good, since the lady is inadmiseable under 212 (a)(6)©(i) and not not eligible for a I-601 waiver, it might as well be a ban.

The second one is not as serious.

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)Ineligible For A Waiver?

I cannot be the only one in such a frustrating and UNFAIR situation, and I would like to petition the Government to change it!!!

Thanks to Obama's "We The People" website maybe they will hear a cry louder than the one that I go to sleep with every night.

But I need your help, and wisdom, and experience, to make it the best petition for all who are at the mercy of the waiver system.

All good people who have been honest, rehabilitated, and desire to immigrating legally...
Good people denied the discretion of a waiver no matter how much hardship is caused to their US Citizen spouse and children!!

This is my story; join me; tell yours, and help me petition to make it better!!

My husband was arrested for possession of marijuana twice in his young adult hood.
I petitioned as his fiance' and he was denied a K1 visa based on this record.
We were told to get married and re-petition as husband and wife and we would THEN be eligible for a waiver.
We married, re-filed an I-130, were approved by USCIS and went BACK to the embassy where he was again denied and this time told he would be permanently banned from my country.
BANNED!! :crying:
For what equates to $9 dollars in fines for a crime that hurt no one, and poses no threat to our country.

I will not go into my hardship and all that I have endured without him.
Let alone what moving to a developing country will do to our children; their access to basic health care and education; or the state of my husband's country crime rates, violence and poverty...

If the true purpose of a waiver is to weigh the individual crime to the hardship faced by the US Citizen, then I say LET THE CRIMES BE WEIGHED!!

Why is no waiver available to people with controlled substance possession charges??

Yes, yes I know, the famous war on drugs... is it working? this war???
How much money is spent fighting it and locking up people?? Yet, the drug use in this country is still amongst the highest in the world.

In my state, marijuana possession is not even a crime anymore, it is an infraction of the law much like a speeding ticket.
The largest amount of signatures on this "We the People" site is a petition to end the federal prohibition.

But I don't want this to be about marijuana, or even necessarily about drug possession denials.

It's about the millions of people who go to bed with their husbands and wives stuck in some other country with no hope of ever coming here.

Please help me see beyond my own issues to create the best petition for all people going to bed tonight with no hope... so that we may HAVE HOPE!!

(L)~And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love~ (L)

JAPrincess,

I am sorry to hear of your situation and the long term impact it will have on your family. I can not even start to imagine the terrible emotional pain you are experiencing. Anyone with an ounce of compassion would be moved by your situation, I certainly am.

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)K1/k2 visa under 221g form pls help
No one knows what will happen with your case, they told you to wait -- therefore, you must wait, there is nothing further for you to do. When the CO has reviewed the requested documents, he/she will make a determination as to if they will approve the visas or not. The good news is they retained the passports, which is a sign the visas are delayed just long enough to complete the review of the docs.

Confused, sad and the sleep issue will not change a thing -- relax and let the process be completed at USEM, more than likely you will be issued the visas.

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)Pls help :(

i dont know why his medical report is late. I was so pissed when i called st lukes cos i found out that mine was submitted on May 5. We had our medical exams done together. He had no problem during his medical exam. He didnt undergo any additional test. In fact, he only had few exams cos he is just a toddler. And now we're in this kind of situation because they didnt submit it on time. The co havent reviewed his medical report yet thats why our visa's arent issued yet. Our case was updated when the CO received the medical reports and whenever i am calling USEM, my case is updating. Ugh a month? thats too long but we are close to it already. They're really testing our patience. Why did they request for another joint sponsor when the NVC already reviewed and approved your docs? They're really unpredictable.

You'll get the visa as soon as the case gets reviewed again -- just a bit more patience. :star:

Many people are not aware of the vast numbers of cases the Consular Section deals with per year, last year was a bit less, but you can see why sometimes it takes awhile to review a case in AP.

  • 200,000 + = non immigrant visas (NIV unit)
  •   50,000 + = immigrant visas (IV unit)
  •   11,000 + = fiance(e) visas (IV unit)

United KingdomAfter all the hoops we have jumped through, 4 days into my new American job USCIS emails me.....

Thanks for your advice guys

My employer asked me to log into HR and contest it. I called Everify and they told me to go to SSA. Am currently waiting in line here on my lunch break. 90 minute wait :)

Prepare for the bureaucratic run around of  'he said, she said,'  'go there, talk to them first, then come back,' and 'the person you need to talk to is out today.'

How about getting extra copies of your important documents;

2. Birth certificate
3. Marriage license
4. Divorce decree
5. Medical records
6. Dental records

And any other records you deem important or that would be difficult to acquire via mail.

Boy I miss Osan.

Were you were stationed at Osan? If you were stationed there, I envy you, lord knows I had tooo much fun in Korea.
I Flew into Osan twice for a much needed 15 day leave each time. Same with Taegu Air Base, (now Daegu) spent some time in Pusan (now Busan) and Seoul shopping and having more fun than should be legally allowed.

Although I love Kim Chee/kimchi, don't miss smelling it first thing in the morning...on people that is.
