Check the Embassy website about that or ask in the forum specific for your region. All Embassies or consulates don't operate alike - for example, in Tokyo, only the beneficiary can enter the Embassy, but in Manila, the petitioner can accompany his/her fiance(e).

Obviously the USCIS is not communicating with the IRS. USCIS is asking you to provide information (tax transcripts) with a form that was once used to verify filing status as an alternative to actual tax returns. The Form 1722 is basically a 4506-T. USCIS is asking you for tax transcripts using an old form.

No, Form 1722 is entirely different from a Tax Return Transcript. Form 1722 is used to verify your tax filing status for the previous three years, as either current, delinquent or there was no requirement that you file.

Embassy closed Sunday the 28th. They are getting on my nerve . I got my ANOVA 2 April 16, now it is almost the end of July... I am pretty sure that if i am lucky i will get the interview in sep, if not later. Why do guy think they take so long ?

Thank you FlipgalRN! Had my Oath Ceremony this afternoon at the Los Angeles Convention Center! Very, very long lines! There were 3920 new citizens at this ceremony. Everything went smoothly but they were not processing passport applications at all, only voter's registration.

Even though I was only on VisaJouney for a few short months, I thank you all for the wonderful support and valuable insights. Good luck to everyone on the rest of your journeys! Wishing you all a wonderful and happy life!

Alright folks I had my interview today. Unfortunately it was not a pleasant experience. After waiting for 3 long hours, I was finally called in. She was a serious officer and got straight to business. I was sweared in and then she took the reading and writing test. Then the history test. All was fine till now. Then she started reviewing my application line by line. I got green card through marriage which ended in divorce. I got remarried after 2 years. She verified my current marriage certificate. She asked me why I did not petition my current wife. I told her my Green card has a restriction of 5 years ( if green card was obtained thru marriage to US citizen ) to petition and that restriction recently expired last month and I am hoping to sponsor as soon as i get my citizenship. Then she verified all my history, every line of the form. Then she verified all my 5 year tax returns. Then she told me to sign and print the name on the N 400. She also made me sign the 2 pics that I had originally sent. 
 
I was waiting for the good news and she then dropped the bomb. Because of your previous history, your case needs more investigation. She then hands over the N 652 with Decision cannot be made yet and then escorted me out. She said they have 120 days to make the decision and to wait for the answer in the mail. 
 
At that moment my heart sank and i came back home. I just dont understand why she did not approve. I honestly dont like suspense in life. They made me wait long time at the time of I-751 and also now. All my papers are straight and nothing goofy in my application. I am having my fingers crossed. I hope to receive good news under a month.

Hi everyone!  Passed my interview today at the Santa Ana, CA office!  Sooooo relieved it's over!  Everything went well, did not have to show any document from the folders I brought along.  IO only asked for my green card and ID, not even passport.  Our parking ticket showed that we were there for 1 hour 16 minutes total.  We figured my interview took less than 20 minutes.  smile.png

:dance: :dance: :dance: OATH day!!! Hubby is an American today!
Arrived at 1 pm... There were 95 people from32 countries (Haiti had the most, followed by Jamaica then Columbia) Franco was the only italian. They had each person say their name and country. Then they did the oath all together, watched the Obama film and proud to be an America video, finally they handed out the certificated and did the pledge... A very nice ceremony...

YAY! Done with all this immigration stuff forever!!! Good luck for everyone still waiting with hopes for a speedy journey! :dance:

Hi guys, I have a questtion.

I know this is not the thread for March filers but I figured someone in this thread could answer this.

My application online just changed and it now states that I have been scheduled for an interview and should be receiving the notice in the mail within 30 days. How long did you guys have to wait from the time your status changed to the time you received the letter?

Received my letter for interview today! Interview scheduled for May 1. OMG this is getting real and I'm getting a little nervous! Can someone please add this to my timeline, thank you! By the way, I did not receive any yellow sheet of paper, only a white I-797C NOA and N-659, Naturalization Interview Document Check List. Is this standard?

@Marm, have you checked your status online? I've been checking every few days since placed in-line and my status changed on March 26 (saying I've been scheduled) and my letter arrived today (April 1). I would think yours should be scheduled soon. Good luck!
