I like KAL and ASIANA great service, good food and lots of adult beverages!

I like KAL also! Great Airport! Incheon is a fabulous Airport! Ultra modern and I like those People movers! Just stand there and you move right along through the Airport looking at all the High Class Shops there! And for those that Smoke they have Smoking rooms.U pass by and the rooms are all glass and you wont see a sight of smoke anywhere cause of those high suction vacums they have in there! great Airport!

Worry not, that's a pretty normal age gap.

PhilippinesPackage stuck in customs
I hope you have a decent outcome with this situation. Philppine customs is well known for holding packages hostage until you offer up your first born child as ransome. And if you declared you have a laptop inside, well, good luck with that package even making it to your fiancee. I've sent birthday and greeting cards that arrived weeks later, opened, someone was looking for cash.

Using the USPS is safe, its roll-the-dice after they hand it off to their Philippine counterpart.

PhilippinesSending Package - Fed Ex What a rip off !

Same here on shipping a 2 yr old used MP3 player and charger. Cost $43 to ship and Customs charges P1800/ $41 US. Crazy Crazy Crazy. DO NOT SEND ANY THING TO PHILIPPINES UNLESS ITS AND EMERGENCY OR ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY AND WILLING TO PAY THE CUSTOMS COST.

Best way is to send the money through Westernunion or LBC or Money Transfer. Let your love one purchase the items there in Philippines. It will save you a whole lot of money.

Follow up note to shipping through Philspost office. My fiance witnessed first hand the corrupted people at customs and the people that worked at the post office in Pasay. Its a syndicate there people paying off people to get there packages without paying customs. Customs officers adding additional charges or overcharging people on customs fees. Especially foreigners or packages coming from abroad. I wonder what will happen if international shipping was to drop by 50 percent. Lot of jobs lost :crying: and questions will be asked.

It's one big government sponsored racketeering network. Send anything of value to the Philppines that is not in a balikbayan box and they will give you a serious haircut.

That VAT is nothing more than legal theft!

Since you're a U.S. citizen, why the need for an annullment in the Philippines? Just get a divorce in the USA.

She missed 8 appointments? That seems more like - not interested in going to the interview.

Philippinescfo... disappointing!!!

When someone goes out of their way to be mean to you, rather than giving them the "finger", I suggest making the sign of the cross and saying God Bless You and Forgive You. To a God fearing person this is a much more powerful gesture and will probably shock them and make them think about their actions more than the rude gesture.

That might work, assuming they are God fearing at all. But a decent, kind, moral and righteous "God fearing person" usually don't ...goes out of their way to be mean to you.

In that case, I'd have to question their level of fearing God, their commitment to walking a righteous path, doing the right thing at all times and exhibiting the nine (9) points of the Fruits of the Spirit.

The slight problem with real God fearing people, they forget there are some really mean, nasty, evil, vile and hostile people on this earth...while hiding behind their christian faith. They don't think about their actions, they usually don't respond to/nor will acts of kindness "shock them."

However, letting the bird rip or an obvious middle-finger is good stress relief and a 'sharp stick in the eye' to Ms. Nasty.

The CFO is a another nanny-state, money making scam for the Philippine government, under the guise of caring for the welfare of its citizens.

The thought of having to listen to the drivel of a bunch control freaks and being treated like a 5 year before you can leave the country, should be insulting to adults.

Philippinescfo... disappointing!!!

she's making our age gap a big deal :bonk:

OP, for pete-sake, do not allow that woman to have control over you. The age difference between you and your fiance is a fact
and she can not change that. I've suggested as have others how to handle that woman.

1. Give her pics that show you happy and having a great time with your fiance. The Photo requirement is now met.

2. Give her a tear-jerk love story version of how you guys met. That requirement is now met.

3. No need to share with that woman any intimate details of your conversations. Tell her what you talk about without
the details of the conversations. Be vague and speak in general terms, as an example;

a. We talk about future plans to have children, how we will raise them, how we will educate them,

b. We talk our financial goals as a couple,

c. We talk about how serious we will take our marriage vows so that we remain married through thick-and thin,

d. We talk about our commitment to support each other emotionally through the ups-and downs of marraige,

Walk in that building with your head held high, walk into her office exuding with self-esteem and pride, sit before
her dripping with confidence.

That woman can only make you feel as bad as you will allow her, you're in charge of how you feel.

You can see this as a negative with "she's making our age gap a big deal" or as a positive chance to shut her up
by proving your 5 + year relationship is as loving and committed as any of the many relationships she's seen with less longevitity, regardless
of the 19 year age difference.

And please, flip her the middle-finger as you exit the building. It makes for great stress relief and is a good 'up-yours' and 'take that' for
having you return for another one-on-one with her.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI did not receive AOS package and IV package??

There 's no package to you. You send the AOS documents and IV documents. Instructions would have come in email with case#. Or did you have a lawyer and thats why you had both bills same time? And why didn't they do anything.

Does NVC even have the petitioner and beneficiaries email address or is it just the lawyer?

Please read the NVC process Wiki. You are losing valuable time. Those things should have been pout the door already.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHow long interview date will be provided after Case Complete?

Hello everyone!

Quick question, how does it usually take for NVC to provide an interview date after Case Complete??

My case was completed May 1. Others who were ahead me, already got their interview dates after a day or two. It has been 4 days now since the day I was case completed.

Anyone here on the same stage like me??

Will appreciate any response!

Oh and I'll be having my medical exam next week. Please include me in your prayers! A simple and short prayer will do!

Thanks a lot VJ!

Jane R.

Congrats!

Have patience -- USEM will get around to scheduling your interview.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAfter Interview - Now What?

Thank you....that is helpful!  I am hoping his green card will arrive in the mail soon after he gets to the US.  Do you know of anything we can do to spend up how quickly we receive his green card and social security number?  I think I have heard these will both be mailed to us once he has entered the US.

There is nothing you can do to speed along acquiring the GC and SSN.  If you checked 'Yes' to the SSN question on the DS-260, the SSN should arrive in the mail after POE. If after more than a couple of weeks it has not arrived, then you might want to take a trip to the SS office.

There is a Guide about the SAVE system on this site. You might want to read it before going to the SS office to inquire about the SSN if a trip becomes necessary.

There, I've redeemed myself after that major oversight earlier.

We did argue about this many times & I did blame him for not listening to me. But for now all we need to do is find a solution cause there's no point in blaming him since its already done. We're just praying that everything will be ok by God's grace.

Your husband is a fortunate guy to have such an understanding wife with a great attitude, even in the face of a challenging situation.

Years from now when you tell others and maybe your children the story of how you came to America, you two can share a laugh about how he didn't listen to you and caused extra stress over lost documents.  :)

I have a friend here on Maui that sends letters via USPS mail but he uses 8 1/2 x 11" paper and just tapes it shut, leaving the ends open so the corrupt mailman in the Philippines can see there is no money inside.  He says most of his letters get through now except once in a while the mailman just gets pissed off and tosses a letter every now and then becasue the guys has out-smarted him.  hahaha

 Now there's an idea and a way to give the middle finger to a postal snake thief.
