Assuming your fiance is a U.S. citizen, he can file a I-129F petition, there is nothing he has to do with regards to that first petition before filing a new I-129F petition naming you as the alien fiancee.

PhilippinesChild and finacee medical exam at St. Luke's

Hospital staff and plenty of other filipinas watching. I went inside St Luke's for my wife's sputum results and talked to the doctors and got to look around. It's a fairly safe environment, I wouldn't worry about the time separated, and one thing I have noticed about the Philippine culture is they seem to work things out amongst themselves easier without our two cents. lol The volume St Luke's is accustomed to, you can bet they have this issue at least a couple times a day.

Well said!

Yeah, I would think so too. We certainly have time to find out before they have to fly.

Heck, over here we would probably have a daycare center with a Chuck E. Cheese in there or something.

At least a table for coloring and doodling.

Hmmm... interesting. So, he could be alone for only a few minutes but with hospital staff nearby.

Ok, looks like you have your answer, problem solved.

Nope, she just learned of this possibility last night my time. We were hoping to gain some insight here.

Ok, there must be someone here that faced the same. Hopefully, they'll allow the little guy to accompany his mom
as she proceeds with the medical.

Have you tired to call SLMCEC to see what the policy is? Surely this will not be the first time they've faced this issue.

I even made myself hungry. I haven't eaten beef in more than 20 years, when I did, In-N-Out was my favorite. A Double-Double with fies-animal style and a vanilla shake...YES!

good for you, here in Virginia there is no Jollibee and no red ribbon i miss this so much..there are just few pinays that ive meet here..im happy for you, you will not be homesick..

Jollibee is good when you don't know any better or until you've had better food. When you eat real pasta and spaghetti (minus the sugar and ketchup) in an Italian restaurant, Jollibee won't seem so good. The longer you're away from Jollibee and the more alternatives to Jollibee you try, when you finally have Jollibee you'll see what I mean.

Kind of like McDonald's is good until you've tried a Double-Double from In-N-Out Burger.

Now Red Ribbon does make some great pastries, the Coffee Crunch and Leche Flan Roll are delicious.

Im in Southern Cali and there is a lot of pinays here in the LA Area so more in Northern Cali! Good Luck!

PhilippinesShe's at embassy now for interview...

And here is what Korean Air says on their web site when I try to buy a ticket:

"According to Philippines law, tickets for flights departing from the Philippines cannot be purchased from any region other than the Philippines. In accordance with the law, such flight tickets are not available in Korean Air's homepage. If you wish to purchase tickets for flights departing from the Philippines, please contact Korean Air office or service center in your region".

People had claimed there wasn't such as law, but I knew there was a law that prevented me from buying the ticket for my fiancee from America. Here it is. What now?

Ugh!!!!

Yeap, Korean Air will not sell a ticket online for travel originating in the Philippines. Have you considered sending your fiancee the money so she can purchase the ticket?

thanks for your info. even i didnt receive the I34 form from nvc yet i can instruct my beneficiary to start doing the medical?

when will i receive the affidavit of support form>? do i need to pay for it?

There is no fee to download or submit the I-134. You'll have the I-134 in your possession at the time of the interview with the supporting documents.

Download the I-134 from here. Just as Hank_Amy says, also download the instructions also.

PhilippinesUSEM doesnt know abt our papers

hi all

my beneficiary just call to USEM manila today wer asking if they already got our packet. but they advise us just to wait for the letters that they going to send out to us prior to starting anything
in contrast on what i read this forum it says that once we already have our case no. ( i called nvc last fri and found that our we already have an assigned case no and left nv feb 16 in us)we can already start scheduling the medical

i dnt know what to do now.. am i supposed to wait for the packet 3 per their advice?

or go ahead start the medical?

pls advice.. im so lost i want to beat the snail mail process if i can

thanks in advance for the response

Don't wait for any packet 3.

Once you have your MNL case number, you and your fiance are ready to move forward with paying the visa fee at any BPI branch, getting registered for the medical at SLMCEC (St. Lukes Medical) and scheduling the interview at USEM.

You can go to any branch of BPI and pay the visa fee ($350.00) then you (or your fiance) will be able to set up the interview online at the USEM. Click here for the page to set up the interview. It will take a few hours or more before you will be able to set up the interview, just keep trying and eventually you'll be able to do so. The receipt she'll get at the time of payment of the visa fee is so very important, you'll need that receipt later. You'll also need to have your passport with you at the time of payment at BPI. Here is the link to the embassy page you can read about the docs required and needed for the interview.

Once you (or your fiance) have completed that, register online for the medical at St. Luke's, registering online will save time on the day of the medical. This is the link to the page where you can read about what is required for the medical. Also click here to read a detailed medical exam review as experienced by a VJ member.

Before or after your interview at USEM, you'll need to attend a CFO seminar. You need attend that seminar and get that sticker before you can exit the country. Here the link to the CFO website, the documents you need so you can attend is listed there.

LBC is a good choice, they've been at it for a long time and are very reliable. They're probably the most popular forwarder used by Filipinos
to ship Balikbayan boxes from the west coast. I've used them several times -- no complaints.

Definitely possible... take a look at my timeline :star:  :star:

P.S.
If you have gathered all documents before the NOA2 Approval and sent them to your fiancee ASAP, she has to be healthy too :D So, if nothing goes wrong with the medical it is definitely possible to be done in 3-4 wks.

PhilippinesAmerican Carry protection in Philippines

You mean like a defensive weapon? Even if you win, you lose. There are more Filipinos that you, they don't like to lose, and don't fight fair. Second, Filipino prisons are dark overcrowded holes, and a Kano like you wouldn't survive the night. Best thing is to avoid such places, watch what you say (they take insults seriously), avoid competition (they don't like to lose, and they don't play fair), and trust your wife/fiancee to keep you out of trouble. Don't wander off on your own. Don't get caught alone.

PhilippinesHelp with Manila process - i wanna make sure i have the process down

Ok I think I was reading it wrong! I went back to ST lukes website and i guess if you have old x rays, bring em, if not, you'll need a current one it just does not say if they will take the xray or if she needs to bring one with her.

Thanx Leatherneck. I appreciate you clarifying things.

Your welcome!

They'll do chest x-rays at SLMCEC -- so just have her take the ones she has and let them determine if they will accept them or not.

Thanx!

How about x-ray? Does she bring her own or do they give her one there?

Were planning on getting this done on Monday. So shed probably fly in on Sunday and head back Tuesday evening. Will she beed more time than that?

Whenever applicable, please bring the following:

  • Old chest x-ray films not less than 3 months prior to the medical examination
  • Immunization record
It depends on how long ago the chest x-ray she has was done.

Two for the medical is normally enough time -- provide the chest x-ray is clear.

Doesn't she have to be outside of 7 days before and after her period?

"Female applicants of child-bearing age cannot undergo medical examination during their menstrual period. Applicants who have their menstrual period should come back one week after the last day of their period." Per SLMCEC.

PhilippinesHelp with Manila process - i wanna make sure i have the process down

Please help me verify the next process

1) Visa Application Fee

a) Go to BPI and pay $350 equivalent in Pesos

Question: Do I need to fill out a form to pay at BPI or does she just walk in there and say she's paying the Visa App and provide the MNL number?

There is no form for you to fill out -- your fiancee goes into a BPI branch and tells them she needs to pay the visa fee for USEM.

2) schedule Appointment Online

Question: On the online application, it's asking for a Priority date, where do I get that?

Found on your NOA1

3) Medical Exam

I understand no appointment is needed here and that it's on a First Come First Serve Basis, is that correct?

Yes, that is correct.

Question: Aside from the photo, appointment date and passport, whatelse does she need to bring with her?
When and where does she pay the $213.35?

She pays the medical fee at SLMCEC at the time of the medical. Click here for the required documents needed at the time of the medical.

IMPORTANT: What time is the best time to go to St Luke's and how long of a wait is it?

This varies, most go early mornings and some go in the afternoon and breeze right thru the medical.

Don't forget to attend the CFO counseling.

I paid around 11 am

It takes a few hours to be successful to log into the system. Be patient and keep trying every so often until you can.

If you paid around 11 am, still kind of early...just wait and try again later, it will work.

PhilippinesQuestion on doing CFO early

You got that right "leatherneck". Incheon is such a nice Airport.I call it a high end Airport, lots of Shops and other things to pass the time. and you right, KAL is a Great Airline. When i go to the PI in the next Few Months, KAL is the way to go.I Have flown PAL, KAL, AND Hawaiian Airlines, KAL is the way to go!

Yes sir, so very true, it is "...high end," and "...the way to go!" I certainly enjoy a layover at ICN, as soon as I get off that plane, I head to the restroom then on to the food court to get a bowl of noodles and a side of Kimchi. Then I'm a happy camper.

That is the best flight out there- We got a great last second deal from this Lady in Manila--- 09175509980 albie sullanoniua Her Face Book---http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1395999119

She can get the best first time Visa flyer or whatever you call rates out there, Got my honey on the KAL Cebu-Seoul-ATL for around 800 bucks with only 2 days notice

KAL is great choice with excellent service. Any layover in Seoul is easy to do in such a nice airport, there is plenty of shopping and cruising the shops she can engage in to kill the time of a layover.

PhilippinesQuestion on doing CFO early

My fiancee is in Manila now, doing the medical, then CFO then interview. I understand she would need to return to the CFO later, but she'd need her passport and visa first for that to be possible, right? i.e. she'd have to fly back home, wait for 2GO to deliver it, then she has to make a trip back to Manila to return to the CFO, then she can get on the plane?

Is that how it would work?

I only ask this because I had been planning on buying a ticket for her straight from Cebu to here, or even one with a connecting flight through Manila, but then how is she going to return for the stamp or whatever it is? This kind of complicates the flight plans. What's the correct way this is done?

Where does your fiancee live? You mentioned her flying from Cebu to the U.S., she can attend the CFO seminar in Cebu. If she lives in or near Cebu or will be flying out of Cebu, then why don't you have her get the interview done, wait for the visa to be delivered, attend the CFO seminar in Cebu, get the sticker the same day/next day-whatever. Then fly out of Cebu as you planned.

That will save you/her a trip back to Manila just to get the sticker.
