PhilippinesFrom Philippines :)

I need some tips guys. Anybody here from Philippines? I am already here in U.S.A. I need to know if i need to send any papers or what to Philippines that am already arrived here in U.S.My visa is K1. Thank you.

There's no "need" to send anything to the Philippines regarding your arrival. You can report your marriage to NSO through the Philppine Embassy with jurisdiction for the area where you live, if you want to and when you're ready to do so.

PhilippinesHow long does it take to get the CFO sticker - Cebu or Manila?
In your case - with the visa in hand, you get the sticker the same day. If there is no visa at the time of the counseling session - you get the certificate which allows you to get the sticker upon presenting a valid visa together with the certificate.

The way I read it was she was in her "most fertile" time when they did the wild thing so there was a possibility of her being pregnant, thus the reason for the delay - they want to make sure she is NOT pregnant.

Yeah, I figured all of that "contact" translated into somebody was 'knockin' boots.' I had a little laugh at "i had contact the time i am fertile" and "you cant have contact after your menstrual." Filipinas sure are modest -- gotta love it!

Are you saying you can't have sexual contact? Come on, you can say it -- we're all adults here.

PhilippinesCAn we interview without the medical?
No you can not do the interview without completing the medical. If your fiancee has her period - SLMC will not do the medical. Therefore you will have no other choice but to reschedule the interview.

PhilippinesMedical, Interview and then CFO in one week.

Hi Vj's,

Is it possible to arrange the Medical, Interview and then CFO in one week. My Finacee will have to travel from Digos City and we would like to do this all in one trip. We are about a month in a half from this process.

Please advise us on the best plan to achieve this in one trip.

Yes those three tasks can be accomplished in one week - however, the actual sticker will be withheld until after your fiancee has the visa in hand. She'll get a certificate after completing the counseling session, which she'll proceed to CFO with the certificate to get the sticker placed in her passport after the visa/passport is delivered to her.

PhilippinesSt. Luke's Exam

Its 10:15 am now and there is no line whatsoever. So this may be a good time to go

Proof positive there is no need to be there at Zero-dark-thirty. I wouldn't arrive before 10 or 11 am, but to each his own.

You can't make an appointment online, you can only pre-register which will save time as you do not have to sit and complete forms when you first arrive.

It's probably going to be very busy early on for the next few days or so - to shake out the back up due to Holy week.

PhilippinesSt. Luke's Exam
Earlier is not quite necessarily better, some ladies have walked into St. Luke's early after noon and been out in a matter of a couple of hours - with no line.

Which makes sense - considering the normal psyche is to be early so as to be ahead of as many people as possible. Mid-week is better than a Monday or Friday, for sure.

PhilippinesDo we need the visa before getting the CFO sticker?

She is from Tacloban and she has already done the seminar, just no sticker. :)

Then once the passport/visa is delivered -- she goes to the CFO office with the certificate she got when she completed the counseling and they will put the sticker in the passport.

PhilippinesDo we need the visa before getting the CFO sticker?
That is correct -- you get the actual sticker in the passport once you have the visa. A certificate is issued after the completion of CFO, that certificate will be proof your wife is entitled to the sticker.

PhilippinesMarriage is breaking apart

im trying to know the intent of the person that gona reply based on her story. i try to analyze words and how they say things. in this story i dont know why i want to know the other side of the story. im bothered hearing the OP keeps saying she is a good wife, does everything and all good stuff that makes the husband look bad. i hear about this nephew and he is the only close relative, which i dont know, forgive me and i dont want to entertain the bad thoughts but reading the narration played dirty in my mind. if im in a bad situation and is being helpless and narrating my sad story i wont put smileys of crying and all that stuff.

just my opinion.

The following comment is not an attack on you.

May I ask why are you "bothered hearing the OP keeps saying she is a good wife?" None of us can personally vouch for her worth as a wife, but one thing is for sure -- it takes a hell of a woman to remain in a sexless marriage for as long as the OP has. No sex since 2008 and she only had sex with her husband two times in that year, most people would've been gone long ago.

Yes you are entitled to your opinion
, but in all fairness to the OP, the way she chose to narrate her story with emoticons does not make her ordeal any less authentic. We all handle stress, drama and hardship very differently. How you would handle a similar set of circumstances could very well be different from the way someone else would do so. It's not so odd for someone to maintain a rather upbeat composure or even display a bit of humor as they recant their story. Writing about her situation to total strangers might provide a moment of escape and relief from that which causes the emotional pain and misery.

Wow, another sad story and dysfunctional marriage. Based on what you've written -- you've been a loyal wife and have suffered emotionally as a result. You've gotten some good advice here. Now you just need to decide how to proceed based on what's in your best interest.

Good luck.

PhilippinesArrest warrant issue

Thank you guys for a quick reply... I have the barangay clearance as well cause the court and fiscal clearance needs it before they can issue a clearance. By the way, i might as well ask the court if they do have the case in their record even if they already issue me a clearance. Once again, many thanks Fellow vj'rs.

Good luck!
LeatherneckMalePhilippines2012-04-12 04:11:00
PhilippinesArrest warrant issue

The reason NBI has put a HIT on the NBI clearance. NBI was the handling agency for the arrest warrant issued. In fact it did reach the courts because an arrest warrant was issued. Even though the issue may have been settle between you and the other party. The courts should have a record of the initial complaint and closure of settlement between the two parties.

In any fact NBI has added you to the HIT list due to the arrest warrant that was issued. Your name was added to there database.

Will it hurt you? As long as you provide the Police Clearance, NBI Clearance and any supporting documents to show that it was cleared in or out of court. You can also obtain a Barangay Clearance as additional supporting documentation. This will just show you are a resident in your Barangay of good standings, and no criminal records in the Barangay of residence.

You will need to explain to Consulate the HIT. What were reason for the complaint and issuance of the arrest warrant.

PhilippinesPhilippine VISA FEES Changing!

I should have waited a while to pay for the Visa, I may have been eligible for the $240. I wonder if I can get a refund on the difference since we only paid a week ago.

Nope, no refund. You paid the fee that was effective at that time.

Its that "Other documents as may be required by the counselors" where people get caught. I've heard rumor of them asking for some pretty strange stuff at times. My wife had me send so many different things, I'd of had a hard time proving who I was in the USA

Yes, "Other documents as may be required by the counselors" is the gotcha! Gives them the right to ask for the bizarre.

PhilippinesMarried in Hong Kong
Even though you were married in HK, the CO at USEM will could request your wife provide a CENOMAR. If NSO has no record of your marriage, (if the marriage was never registered in the Philippines) you'll get a CENOMAR, (CRS Form No. 4) but you have the documents you mentioned from HK to prove to the CO that you are in fact married.

If there is a record of your marriage, NSO will issue you an Advisory on Marriages, ( CRS Form No. 5) commonly called/known as a CENMAR. The CO will be looking for past marriages and your current marriage. So you have to decide if it's worth it to you to have it ready just in case it is needed.

PhilippinesGetting Married in the Philippines
1. Get an Affidavit in Lieu of legal capacity to marry from the US Consulate
2. Obtain CENOMAR for your fiancee from NSO
3. Obtain barangay clearance for your fiancee from her local barangay hall
4. Get birth certificates for both of you
5. File with Local Civil Registrar
6. Wait 10 days
7. Obtain marriage license from Civil Registrar
8. Get married
9. Once you're married you get your marriage certificate from the local registrar office.

You won't have enough time to get everything done in time and have a wedding before your grandmother departs.

As for as which visa you get - that will be determined by the length of your marriage at the time your future wife applies for the
immigrant visa.

PhilippinesMedical at St Lukes...

I have questions regarding the NOA2 letter. Is the letter sent by email or snail mail? Who receives the NOA2 letter? Does my fiancee need a copy of the NOA2 letter at any time in her porcessing in Manila?

The petitioner is mailed the official notice (I-797C) and your fiancee does not need a copy of the NOA2 during the final processing in Manila with regards to the medical or interview. You get email/text message notification if you submitted a G-1145 with the I-129F.

PhilippinesNOA 2s are over due for December 2011 Filers
You might be paying way too much attention to those stats, if you just like to keep up with that stuff - I'm not knocking you at all.

At 91 days since your NOA1, you still have a ways to travel. If you submitted a G-1145 with your petition, personally I would focus on
getting prepared for the next phase after you get that coveted email/text message about the NOA2. The days will really drag on if
you follow those stats so closely - especially if your petition heads into the 5-6 month abyss.

Yes they are bro, lets go get some!:D

Ok, my treat at Country Waffles.

Man I have some memories about Camp John Hay. That was the weekend getaway place for the military when we had a presence in the Philippines, that cool climate was always a welcomed break from the heat of Clark AFB or Subic Naval Base.

There were a few times I would arrive in the Philippines (Clark AFB) from the crushing heat on Okinawa, feel that oppressive heat from the concrete during the walk from the plane to the terminal, then get on a bus and go straight to Camp John Hay to enjoy the change of climate.

Try "Camp John Hay Manor". I stayed there a few years ago and the place was very nice and reasonable. The Staff is "very" attentive to your needs and wants there. As you know the Altitude is very high so of all the places in the Philippines Baguio is Cold there at times so take a Sweater. there is also a big lake there that you can go Boat riding and dont forget the Lil people, the igorots.they will want to take pics with you for pesos. they are about 3 or 4 feet tall, very cute. And of course the malls. have a good trip there.
