National Visa Center (Dept of State)Paperwork sent!
the 2-4 week response is a canned response. i agree with simple male, although i tried to call them everyday almost a week after my petition was approved by CSC. the difference however is that they actually tell you if they have received your petition from USCIS. dont ask them when they will send in your application to the corresponding US embassy, they will give you the same two-four week time frame as an answer, i suggest to call them everyday and ask the status of your application. i called and gave them my receipt number from uscis instead of the NVC case number that way maybe they wont notice that i have been bugging the hell out of their customer service line. ahahaha

hmmm, its weird, i havent received anything in the mail as of yet from NVC... anyone in the same boat?

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Next Stop
here is the info. i dug it up somewhere before.

SMEF-COW (for CFO guidance/counseling seminar):
Good Sheperd Convent
1043 Aurora Blvd,
Quezon City
MANILA
(LRT line 2: it's next to KATIPUNAN station, exit to the north of the station and when you come out on the street facing PSBA college turn to the right, you'll see the sign for the St. Mary's (first green gate), infos on LRT is here: http://www.lrta.gov....senger_info.htm )
Phone: (63 2) 913-6439 or 911-1814
FAX: (63 2) 913-6438

Remember that you need 2 valid I.D. with photos in Manila.

Important point: its is indicated in the CFO site that you have to pay P250 fee for the CFO Seminar and again P250 fee for the CFO Stamp. there are two batches being held everyday from what i know of. one in the morning and one after lunch. just be there at around 7 to be able to ensure a spot in the first batch otherwise you will have to come back after lunch for the second batch.

i hope this helps :)

About time!! Congrats!!!

hi rob. it is called the CFO seminar... she actually can attend it right now if she already has her passport. she needs to attend it before she leaves for the US. after she gets her visa from the US embassy, you guys need to go back there and get it "stamped" that she has attended the seminar. its a pre-req in the philippines but they wont stamp it until you get your visa. or you guys can wait it out, attend the seminar and get stamped altogether in one day. Let me know if you need the address of it. cheers!

National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC Left Notice
hi gomez, you will get a letter in the mail from NVC stating that your petition will be forwarded to the consulate in manila... Just for reference sake, i found out that NVC sent out my petition August2 and I received my letter on monday or tuesday august 7 or 8. The date on the letter said August3. give it a week and you will receive the letter in the mail

second, just to let you know that i called last week and spoke to someone in the immigrations unit from the US Embassy in manila and they said that they were still waiting for the physical files of my case although the electronic version of the file has been forwarded to them by the NVC. I also asked what i should be expecting afterwards and how long it will take before they could set up an interview for my fiance. What the nice lady told me was to call after a month (hehe im calling this sunday) and most likely they will have everything ready and perhaps the packet 4 sent out within or around that timeframe. She also mentioned that my fiance will receive packet 4 which contains all information that he will need, including visa interview date, forms to be filled out and the like. In the same manner, i will receive a letter in the US stating that the packet has been sent out to my fiance as a notification.

i hope that answers your question.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 and Bank Savings
hmmm that part im not so sure of. i am in the same situation. hahaha... he has one though. but i dont think my soon to be stepson will follow immediately.

Im thinking that since it will not be within the year of your fiance's approved petition then you will have to fill out a new affidavit of support when that 5 year mark comes.

can someone with better knowledge of k3 visas help us?

i agree with kitkat. i know how it feels to have to travel alot and the way it takes a toll in the little piggy bank. ive never travelled so much as i have now... i even hate riding in planes... haahaha i get all queazy in planes... but its all good.

like i said its a good thing to have some savings but not a requirement. so long as you have met the minimum requirements, in this case just what you make is sufficient. :)

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 and Bank Savings
i want to say that pretty much the first requirement would be what you earn. :) some savings would be good too i guess to show as a backup but the if your salary is above their minimum requirement then there shouldnt be any problem.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionHow important is it to provide proof of wedding plans?
I too am not currently at that stage yet but i think ive read somewhere that when they get their packet 3 it will require you to fill out an affidavit of support. you will need to send those over to him and perhaps when you send it to him, make sure you include another letter of intent, signed and dated of course just to reiterrate your plans of getting married within the 90 days of him getting to the US. that may help establish that there is still an intent to marry.

Just make sure that he has enough secondary proof of the ongoing relationship between you two.

i hope that helps ... :)

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionAffidavit of support and Mortgage
thanks queen becca! youre input makes alot of sense. i have papers to support my claim for my place's current value. it is an under estimation since the loan people wanted to have a conservative appraisal but thankfully i do have equity. im thinking that perhaps this can also show (if you have equity) that worse comes to worse, you will have a back up plan...

okay so im going to submit the form as is.

second question, just a follow up. i was under the impression that affidavit of support is good for one year? am i wrong in this assumption? some of the statements from the banks i got were dated as early as feb 2006. do you think i should request for a new one from the banks? or will this suffice? i was planning to print out monthly statements as well as a more updated basis for consular officer.

thanks you guys. :)

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionAffidavit of support and Mortgage
hi guys, i guess im just pondering on the fact that the I-134 form asks you if you own any property and the current value of the property. Right under it also asks a question of mortgage (im assuming this is the money that you owe in the bank). thing is, right now my property has increased in value and i actually have a written asessment of that. however, that being the case, im also stuck with mortgage payments. I was just wondering how this will affect, or if it would affect any inquiries with regards to being able to sponsor my fiance...

it is still a long ways before his interview date, should i just leave that portion blank? my income level as well as savings is, IMHO enough to prove that i am financially able to sponsor my fiance though.

i hope you guys can help. Thanks :)

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 question
william i agree if you make enough income then it shouldnt be a problem. as for me, im planning to do the bank statements as well just to be on the safe side.

for the whole bank stationary as well as signature of the bank officer, it was written on the I-134 instruction sheet. i dont think it would hurt. :)
YnaYeBa0808FemalePhilippines2006-08-20 01:54:00
US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 question
hehe i just contacted my bank for that letter. i think they a verification of account. first i tried calling my local bank for that information and they had no clue of what i was talking about so they asked me to contact a customer service.. i called my banks customer service line and explained to him that i need a verification of my bank account. they asked me what it was for i said i need it for filling out an affidavit of support. i basically told the guy what i needed,

1. offcial bank letter in their stationary
2. when my account was opened
3. total deposits i made for the past year
4. signature of a bank official that prepared this

i think you should just go ahead and tell them what exactly it was that you need. or maybe if you are going to a live person in the bank just show them the instructions on the I-134.

i hope this helps

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionManila Appointment Dates SPEEDING UP???
hi guys i do hope i am wrong but dates that the website reflects visa appointment availability are for non immigrant visas. student visa, visitors visa, tourist visa.... the date implies the earliest possible date for the non-immigrant visa applications can get an interview date.

in our case, k1 -k3 petitions are considered immigrant visas. early october is somewhat of a far-fetched wish for you and I uling. realistically maybe, just maybe, our interview dates can be pushed up to mid-end october, early november at the very latest....

weekend is coming up, should we start the hounding again? hahahahaha
