K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresi-134 Question
Ok so here is the situation...

My fiancees family lives in, let's say, L.A

She currently rents in, let's say, N.Y

What address does she put on top of I-134??

If she puts her home address (which is on all the other forms so far) do we then need to provide info for all those living there??

She began renting in NY over a month ago, but all her mail still goes to her HOME in LA.

Do we need to notify USCIS? I mean she goes home once a week to collect her mail. Shes not missing out on any notifications or anything.

Please help!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about meeting I-134 guidelines 125%

No it shouldn't, it only matters if those individuals are listed as dependents on her tax returns. It doesn't matter that they live in the same house together. They only care about if your fiancé makes enough above the poverty line for herself, you and anyone she lists as dependents on her taxes. I hope that helps. :)

Huge help! Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about meeting I-134 guidelines 125%

If the person can prove income (with IRS tax transcripts, bank records, pay stubs) - yes - it will be counted.

However, if it's "part time" work - and may vary - that will count against you - so you may need a co-sponsor.

What about this situation:

Fianceé is a public school teacher (earns above the required limit). Lives with parents. Supports herself, only. Both her parents work.

My fiancee will be doing the I-134 for me, NO CO-SPONSOR.

Does the fact that other people live in the SAME house give us a problem?
Widsy97MaleIreland2011-12-07 17:36:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about meeting I-134 guidelines 125%

Hi all,

My fiancee is currently contracted part time which gives her an annual gross of $18969 if calculated from her hourly rate. But then she also works extra hours that aren't in her contract. For example in the last 4 months she made 9000 (which if continued would give her a gross of $27000 at the end of the year).

The question is will the UK embassy take this into consideration when filling out the I-134 or will it not suffice?

We will be a household of 3 and she has about $3000 currently in savings. She does not own her house.

Are we gonna need a co-sponsor is the question really under these circumstances? We are asking her parents but we're not confident they will be comfortable doing it.

Thanks in advance,
(especially to Gary & Alla who always come through for me ;) )

Good question!

Need to know something similar myself. :bonk:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWaiting for Packet 3????

Hello Everyone,
So it is going on 11 days since our Fiance visa file has arrived at the Dublin Embassy and still no packet 3. I'm feeling a bit anxious because it seems that usually people receive packet 3 within just a few days to under a week. Is this normal and am I freaking out for nothing or could there be a problem? I've tried emailing them, but haven't received any sort of response. I am also trying to avoid calling them because it costs 2.40 euros a minute!
Any sort of help would be appreciated! Thank you in advance for your time!

We got our NOA2 email recently. Waiting for the hard copy now. How long from NOA2-->NVC-->Embassy??

I'm sure your packet 3 will come soon!

I just sent you a PM... hadn't heard anything from you two in a while!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPetitioner Question. Tax and W2's

W-2's are an American thing.

A sponsor can submit a complete copy of their tax filing or an IRS transcript. USCIS prefers transcripts.

Thanks for your reply!

Are you referring to a 'tax account transcript'? Thats what its called on the IRS website. She just had to request one from 2010. It was free to request which is nice!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPetitioner Question. Tax and W2's
Hey friends! Quick question!

So... My American Fianceé is gathering all the proof for the I-134, and we have a question.

We met while working in Korea in Oct. 2008, in Jan 2009 she recieved a W2 for the previous year (2008).

HOWEVER, we stayed working in Korea until mid 2011, THEREFORE she did not recieve W2's for 2009, 2010.

When one does not work in the States during a calendar year, one does not recieve a W2.

SHE DID file her taxes in the years we were in Korea and has her tax returns that show that.

Our problem is the lack of W2's. But then again, she NEVER recieved them!

So..... is this a problem?

Should we include a quick note explaining this?

Thanks!

So I just called the NVC and spoke to a real person  they don't have our application yet. She said we have to allow 15 business days for it to get from USCIS to NVC.

THATS A LONG TIME!! They are not THAT far away from each other! Vermont to New Hampshire! :bonk:

Average waiting time is 2 to 3 weeks and you can call NVC. If you wait for a Personal Letter that wait will be longer or you will grow old and Die.

Cheers Widsy! Are you going through your visa with Embassy in Dublin? I applied there and they sent mine to London because I'm a UK resident (live in Northern Ireland) even though I am an Irish Citizen! :-s

Thanks for that message...hoping for the best!

Ya, I'll be goin' through Dublin. That's a pain for you; havin' to travel all the way to London!! :bonk:
Widsy97MaleIreland2011-12-13 14:52:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNearly approved... problem with i134

I feel like according to VJ you don't tick any and according to CO you tick 'intend'. The problem has arisen from ticking the 'do not intend' box (the right) so either tick the left box or leave them both empty.
I'm devastated that we didn't get full approval yesterday at the embassy but the CO was very nice & made it seem like its an easy mistake to fix.
Just more waiting. He said once when I get the new form, call for their courier service to come collect the form & my passport & then they will send me the visa right back.
Does that make sense?

Ya, it makes sense!

I mean you have everything else in order.

I have a friend who did the CR-1 Visa (the already married one) here in Ireland. His wife didn't have enough money on the I-134 to be approved. The Embassy told him; get a co-sponsor, send us back the new I-134 and we will send you the visa asap.

And thats exactly what happened!

His wifes aunt sponsored him, sent back the new I-134 within a week... had his passport w/visa inside within another week.

Wouldn't worry!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNearly approved... problem with i134

Hi everyone,

I had my interview in London yesterday and everything went well until the CO said there was just one problem. He asked how I would support myself until I have AOS and get a job... I thought that was why I had the i-134. So the CO then said, your fiance has checked the box on question 11, ''DO NOT intend to make specific contributions...'' when he should have check '' I INTEND''

So I got the blue form saying that I need to resubmit the i134 and i went on the example forms and saw that neither box was checked and they say to state ''n/a k1 visa process for permanent residence'' at question 11.

The CO made me believe that my fiance should have checked the 'i intend' box and then state how he would support me.

So i'm confused!

What did anyone else write for question 11?!

Really appreciate your responses!

WOW! I would like to know this too. I was going to leave them both blank, and put ''n/a k1 visa process for permanent residence'' in the space.

What to do?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPutting the I-129F package together

Again, you do not SIGN the back of passport photos. You hand PRINT the full name. My signature is not my full name. My wife did nothing to her passport photo. I PRINTED her full name on it. Some "signatures" are not legible. Please pay attention to accuracy folks. Don't "sign" passport photos.

Thanks for the replies. Three hours seems a fair bet. Anyojne happen to know (long shot) which airports proccess most efficiently...I guess there're a lot of variables, but are any to avoid entirely?

Fly from Dublin or Shannon in Ireland. They are POE's. MUCH QUICKER than the POE's in America!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAP at NVC

So today I called NVC to check if the case was send to the embassy. The lady on the other line told me that my case was going under AP and she cant give me a time limit since there is none. I was so mad after hearing that but something in my head kept saying to call back and inquire. So I called back twice just to be sure. So both times I was told that my case is being processed and should be send to the embassy shortly in couple of days. I even asked if it was under AP and I was told NO it wasnt and nothing special going on with the case. Now im confused as wat to really beleive. Is it in AP or not. Any help be greatly appreciated.

Sounds weird!

Can't help you, sorry.

I rang them again today, they still don't have our file from USCIS.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCopies of Petitioners Passport?

Hi everyone,

My fiance put the copy of his birth certificat front and back as proof of citizenship.
For the proof of meetings in person, he added the copies of the passeport pages with the stamps on it.
I think we're ok because I think they never ask for the bio pages too...

My American Fianceé DIDN'T include her photo page, but I (foreign fiance) did. We got our NOA2 on Dec. 5th with NO RFE.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresShould a beneficiary arrested once in US but no conviction expect delays?

I think people need to back off this guy. He asked for advice and he's being blamed for defending his life and others in his house. If someone breaks into YOUR home, can you honestly tell me you wouldn't do everything in your power to get them out?? And frankly, if there are threats being made, you have EVERY RIGHT to defend yourself in your own home. He has said that he chased them out of his house... not that he continued chasing them once they were out the door. Stop judging. We're supposed to be here for each other, not attacking and accusing one another.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEmployment letter
i used a co sponsor who works for the city and they wouldnt give him a letter stating he was not going to be unmeployed anytime soon. so instead he wrote a letter saying where he works and how long he's worked there and i handed that in with everything else. i also only had one tax return from him instead of three and nothing was said. maybe its because ireland is alow risk country. but i definitely didnt have everything down to the very last detail with regard to the affidavit. but everything that i could do myself i did perfectly such as the g325a and i-129f. but not having the letter wasnt the end of the world.. or my visa petition. i'm in america now!!
