K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F Cover Letter
Hey!

A quick question.

When writing the cover letter for the I-129F, I have to put in the "address of your service center". Where is that? I thought everything had to go to the "Dallas Lockbox"?!

Confusion!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPrevious Address not know
How're ya ConorC!

I had the same question a while back. I got the impression that they need those addresses on the form. I emailed people and rang around and got my addresses from abroad that I had forgot. It's better to have 'um truthfully, I'd say.

Put it this way... you go for the interview, they look through your stuff, ask you a few questions about your previous addresses, you answer one thing BUT your form that you filled out says another, you know! Could cause hassle!

Where are you in the process?
I'm from Ireland, I see you are too. Or are you American and your Fianceé Irish?

Send me an IM. Let me know how you're gettin' on!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLet me get this straight

You guys must be golden! :star:

Both the Filipino pre-screener and the consular officer looked at our evidence of an ongoing relationship. There was another poster in this thread that said the pre-screener looked at their evidence of an ongoing relationship. Also, I've read this many times before here on VJ that they looked at this type of evidence.

It's also very likely that the consular officer already looked at the evidence before the interview. I have a feeling it's one reason why most interviews go so quickly in Manila.

I will be going through the consulate in Dublin, Ireland. Haven't heard anything about them. Anyone any ideas/advice??

By the way... thanks for all the previous answers!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLet me get this straight
Hey everyone!
We are about to begin the process, I need to get some things straight in my head first. Perhaps you can help me with this!

So, we have everything gathered, signed and dated where applicable, highlighted dates on additional info (flight iteneraries, emails, skype logs).

Now, am I right in saying we should now copy our entire package TWICE?

Then, I, the foreign fiance, should keep this safe and take it with me to my interview in a few months? Correct?

Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBefore I send everything away...

I don’t think the singing date that matters and you don’t have to sign and date the photos. The birth should have to be copied front and back, it doesn’t matter if there is something on the back or not. I think I am a little confused, are you the one sending the application or the USC fiancée?

Good luck

I'm sendin' it in. My USC fiance is sending everything to me first, Im gonna go through it, and then Im gonna send it to the express address when i have everything looked through.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBefore I send everything away...
I signed my forms and attachments and dated everything on the 22nd of July.

I am sending the package in next week. Early August.

Does this gap between signing and sending pose a problem for me?

Also, ONE passport photo EACH with name printed and signed on the back, right?? Dated??

Thanks!

Oh! And my USC, American born fiance copied her birth cert. One copy of the front and one of the back. 2 seperate sheets of paper.

Why both sides??

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSending the I-129f from Outside the USA

Gotcha "not my fault"

I still might send it back to her once it's all together just to let her put in the post (just my opinion)

Payment is in US funds right?

Ya, payment is by cheque. An American cheque in dollars.

What do you mean by: "just to let her put in the post??" As in she sends it??

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSending the I-129f from Outside the USA

Any correspondence (RFEs or NOAs) would go to the address she listed on the I-129F. I don't think the shipping address on the envelope would matter.
Use the one where you two are most likely to get mail. We've had a rough time with address changes!

Just wondering why you are sending it? It would be a lot cheaper from the US no?

Ok so the return address wouldn't matter too much. That's good.
Ya, makes sense that she gets it since her address (America) in on the I-129F. That's where we WANT it to go anyway.
I'm sending it because she wasn't too confident in getting it properly all together. Plus the fact that I now get the blame if anything is wrong!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSending the I-129f from Outside the USA
Hey all!

So, I am sending the package off on Friday.

Quick question: I am the foreigner (Irish). My USC sent me all her stuff for me to look over and compile the I-129F package. Now, I am gonna be sending it. What return address should I put on it? Mine or hers??
For example,
what if we get an RFE, where will that go to? Her American address or mine? Will it go to the return address on the package or hers as stated in the actual I-129F?
How about the hard copies of NOA 1 and 2?? American address or address on the envelope?

Does any of that make sense??

Confused!?! What's new! :o

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVisa Waiver

Hi everyone,

I am new here so please forgive any stupid or constantly asked questions! :) Now I know this topic has been posted before but I like to try and get the latest info from people so at the risk of annoying people I have a question around visiting my Fiance on the VWP after we have submitted the K1. I know a lot of you out there have done so without problems and it is recommended that you take strong evidence of ties to come back home. I am planning on visiting mid-Sept for 3 weeks so would you say the following items would be evidence enough:

- Copy of mortage agreement?
- couple of bank statements?
- last 3 months wages slips?

Anything else advised that will strike the right cord with officials? I do have my return flight booked of course.

Also, is there any official US document that states it is okay to visit on a VWP as you go through the process?

Or alternatively is it better to apply for a tourist visa? Although I am not sure there is time now! :)

Thanks so much,

Zoe

Yes, you can visit.

Seems like you have strong ties.

I am visiting in September too.

I am gonna bring the copy of our I-129f application with me to show them that we are going about the whole thing legally and I am not tryin to commit any fraud. Also thinking about getting a letter from my girlfriend stating that I am staying with her while I am there and they can come to her if I overstay.

Hope that will get me through!

Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPutting together the I-129F pack

Okay folks, second silly question of the evening here but one that has been troubling me because like most things in life it is the littlest things that can trip you up! :)

So I wondered if there is any "special" way you are supposed to secure your pack i.e. any special fixings you are meant to use to hold all your papers together?

Also anything you can't do such as use highlighters or post-it notes or anything that seems silly to me but makes sense to those handling these applications everyday?

Apologies if this is covered elsewhere in the forums...do just point me in the right direction if necessary - I won't be offended.

Thanks,

Zoe

Ours is paperclipped together. Like, all the emails are together, highlighted dates on them, put a post saying it was email correspondences. etc.

I know your photo bags have to be labled.

Here, have a look at this:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFocus of attention on K-1 process

I guess I just wish the process was a little bit more transparent, but I can understand why it isn't for security, abuse and fraud reasons.

A somewhat strange question, but would they judge me the same in the Moscow consulate as they would in the London consulate?

As in, are different nationalities treated differently?

It's sad, but I would say so!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFocus of attention on K-1 process
The way I understood it was that; when you submit your initial I-129f package the focus is on Proof of Relationship.
Then, after the NOA2, and your application moves to the embassy, the focus is on financial support and criminal background.

Can anyone confirm this??

Personally I think you are over loading your paperwork Lets face it the USCIS staff see a huge pile come in what do you think they will do? Leave it till later as too much to go through. I don't know but we never included plane receipts boarding passes nothing and I am from Australia. SO go figure. You really DO NOT need more than 8 pictures dated and signed as to where they were taken. They DO NOT need your letters nor cards and and movie stubs :wacko:and bank tickets WTH? You need to keep it simple but precise. SO a few pics a few emails and boarding passes if its what everyone is doing now and your letter of intent to marry in 90 days of his arrival. You will NOT get and RFE if you follow the instructions of what to send in. You are young yes but that is not an issue and your 134 comes at his interview stage and you will need a co sponsor as you are i school yes? SO don't worry for now you will drive yourself crazy just keep to the facts and send your paperwork in.
We sent in printed pics on photo paper and wrote on the back but if you have glued them on paper that's fine just write where they were taken and date them.

you must include boarding pass, passport stamps, etc.

Hang on! Seriously, unless you have been planning to go down the K-1 visa route for quite a while, NOBODY keeps their boarding passes, thinking "I'm gonna keep these for the K-1 visa!"
Printable flight itineraries, yes. But, boarding passes, I doubt it!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRFE - Desperate, please help!

We got our RFE today, saying they need more evidence of meeting the last 2 years. in BALD letters they typped "copies of passport pages that show the identification page and admission stamps." Is that all they need then? i def know, that i did not send that, i only included the admission stamps.

do they need more? or is that enough? is it true, that we will be denied if we sent them the wrong information now? We sent the tickets already, but the online tickets are in german (well u can still read them because its only numbers and dates) and the boarding passes don´t include the YEAR (never realized that before)

Give them what they want!

This worries me, because we included all the pages with stamps on them, but my fiancee didnt copy her picture page... HOWEVER, she does have her foreign work visas with her name printed on them. Will we get an RFE?? I hope not! :(

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2! Finally!

Last night I was panicking about things and working out our backup plan in case things didn't work out the way that we wanted them to. I think I was worrying my fiance with some of the stuff I was saying.

Our case isn't exactly straightforward, and I was over-worrying that we'd forgotten to include something. Or I would read things and think that the worst possible things were going to happen, I guess I am the glass is half empty kind of gal!

My fiance had also received a letter about the country I was from(Australia), called them, and apparently the information that they were requesting was already on the forms, they'd just missed it / hadn't entered it or something ... and I was worrying that the call wasn't enough ... I asked him to call them again to double check that he really didn't have to do anything else.

BUT after all that stressing ... we just got the NOA2 approval notice. It was a nice surprise to wake up to this morning :) :) :)

Congrats!

Hello everyone, here i am starting with my questions :P
About the criminal record (i am the beneficary) for the interview, they say you need it from all the places you lived after you got 16 years. They mean in same country or? I lived in 2 towns so that means i have to get it from both places? I called the police and they said it is available 3 months, hope they know what they talking...
Ok, second question... if my fiance it is self employed we need the IRS and the bank thing (account, balance etc) right?
Well that is all for now but i will be back woth other questions for sure hehe. Thank you in advance for the answers and the infos. :help: :luv:

I believe you need a check from everywhere you lived, since you were 16, for 6 months or more. Can someone clarify this?

YOu can do all that but really as long as you have a return ticket and a home address to return to and copy of your 129 receipt you should be fine. They may not ask for 129 as they would,d not know so don't panic on that and you have to state where you are staying anyways on I-94w so that will have your fiancee's number and address on it. I visited my fiance also when we had 129 processing and I never had to show anything, was asked am I staying with -------- my now husband and I said yes and as I had been before they took 1 fingerprint and said welcome back Barbara have a nice holiday. I too was here for 87 days. You should be fine but you can bring the letter if you want from fiancee but hey anyone could write that, not really proof hey.
