K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134

You don't need financial support documentation for I-129F. You will only need them at the interview stage.

Correct, you only need the I-134 (financial support form) at the interview stage.

Focus on getting your I-129f application together now.

Follow the guides.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresmeeting within two years prior to applying for K!

No. If the RFE is for more proof of meeting in the last 2 years, the meeting must have happened in the 2 years BEFORE you filed the petition. You cannot send in proof of meeting together after the fact. The recent visit would be evidence for the consulate later at your visa interview to prove relationship. It will not work for the petition. The meetings face to face in person had to occur in the 2 years prior to filing your petition.

2 years is a long time to not physically meet someone that you intend to marry.

Buy a ticket for one of ye to visit the other, or meet somewhere in-between.

It might cost a lot of money but... well, it's better than doin' the K-1 all over again!

Ok.

So while on NA01 bring proof that your returning. While on NAO2 bring even more.

We should have NA02 by July. I have visits planned for August and October. I don't plan to move until December.

Nich Nick. Perhaps it has changed since you went through the process.

As long as I am honest and have proof of ties to home I should be ok right?

Yes.

First Visit (after NOA1, before NOA2):
I brought a copy of our initial I-129f package, and a bank statement with me when I traveled to the States. I was asked for NOTHING. But, better safe than sorry!

I was asked: Business or Pleasure?
My reply: Pure Pleasure!

DONE!

Second Visit (after NOA2, before interview):
I brought the copy of the NOA2 indicating we had been approved. I was asked for NOTHING. But, better safe than sorry!

I was asked: What is the purpose of your visit?
My reply: I am going to visit my fianceé, she's lives there.

DONE!

You're worrying about nothing... seriously!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVisiting the US while applying for K1

As far as I know, they will not let you in when your K1 is in process, under no visa or visa waiver program (VWP), except when you have a work visa!!!!!

I got questioned so heavily and nearly got denied when i entered usa to see my fiance (before we filed K1) the second time on VWP, as I told them 'im here to see my boyfriend for 3 months (the whole of my VWP)'. They said 'im high risk', for Christ Sake, i'm an Aussie, not someone to stay in USA illegally for benefits! We have better welfare in Aus.

Not correct. They WILL LET YOU IN!

I sent our K-1 last August, visited for 88 days from Sept to end of Nov. NO PROBLEMS!

I went again in Feb for 2 weeks. NO PROBLEMS!

Bring 'Strong ties' to your home country. Strong ties= Proof of employment, return ticket, enough money in the bank to support yourself, etc.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVisiting the US while applying for K1

Actually for me , they knew I had filed . He checked his computer and said I filed in November , I never gave them that information.
They let me in anyway, they didn't ask me for any proof of ties , not even the return ticket , although it's important to have the proof of ties with you

They definitely know that you have applied for a Visa!

They know who's coming in, lads!

You have to give them your Name, Passport Number, address while in the States etc. on the ESTA authorization.

Also, is ESTA only for Visa Waiver countries!? Or does everyone have to do it?

im confuse now..... how much is it?

To send away your initial I-129f package it's $340.

When you get approved and your file is sent to the Embassy, you will need to pay $350. From April 13th 2012, that fee will be reduced to $240.

Interesting! BUT, this refers to the fee paid to the EMBASSY, not the initial I-129f application.

K-1 Embassy fee: $350 ($240 from April 13th, 2012)

Yes I was at the airport, they made me go to the ticket counter and buy her a return flight home, they said if I did not she would spend the days in the holding cell till the airplane company agrees to give her a free flight home. I was so devastated I just agreed and paid for the flight, I was not given the chance to do anything. They allowed her to give me a wedding band. I felt so scared I was frozen, and did not ask many questions, I just kept agreeing.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCost of the medical in Ireland

another reason for it to be so expensive it's because they have no competitors being the only clinic in Ireland that does the visa medical! It is really crazy that the medical costs almost what petition+ visa together!

Ridiculous!
Widsy97MaleIreland2012-04-25 10:08:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCost of the medical in Ireland

Yes its crazy how it rose by nearly 30 Euro, I had a quick coffee downstairs with Dr. Gleeson after (rugby&soccer talk)he was quite honest with me and said basically that it so expensive as you have to pay for 'the view'. Blackrock Clinics rent must be through the roof. In fairness he is a very nice man and it was an ok experience and worth every penny for the end result, but no excuse for nearly 400 quid

Ya he is sound out. And Blackrock Clinic is very fancy! A bit too fancy for a clinic, in my opinion.

There's no recession in Blackrock, Co. Dublin... that's for sure! ???

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCost of the medical in Ireland

Hi Guys just a quick one to my Irish folks... anyone knows how much is the medical at the blackrock clinic now? I know here says 366 but I have a feeling it has gone up? Also it looks like they are pretty much booked up till mid June, should I book my appointment for an available spot in June and when worse comes to worst is it possible to have your medical without a case number? I know I can ring and ask but right now I am outside of the country and would appreciate your reply :) Cheers!

€366 is correct. When I booked mine it was €320, then we had the budget at home and the price rose to €366. Glad I rang a few days before I went to confirm everything, otherwise I would have not been prepared to pay the extra money.

Also, yes. You CAN do your medical without your case number.

Call them and double check with them, maybe things have changed since January. They are well versed in the US Visa medical process. They will answer your questions.

I'm not from America, So I never needed a background check from there. So im not 100% sure on this!

Go to your local police station, explain what you need, tell them about all your previous addresses. See what they say!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresletter of intent & the declaration of the relationship
We combined the Letter of Intent and declaration of relationship on 1 typed page. Here it is:

K1 Fiancée Visa Petition of
Robert X. Xxxxx, on behalf of
Amanda X. Xxxxx

Being duly sworn, I, Robert X. Xxxxx, declare:

I am the petitioner named above. I am a citizen of the United States, having been born in (city, state) on (date). I live at (U.S. address).

It is my intention to marry Amanda X. Xxxx within ninety days of her arrival in the United States on a K-1 fiancé visa. In fact, we are planning the wedding for (date), so I hope this petition will be approved in time for us to keep these wedding plans.

I met Amanda through a friend that I work with at (company name) in Limerick, Ireland in July, 2004. We instantly hit it off and began to see each other frequently. It was evident that this was going to be a long term relationship and we are very happy together and can’t wait to get married.

I proposed to Amanda this year on (date) while at dinner and she happily accepted. I met Amanda’s parents last year and have spent many hours at their house. Both her mother and father have given us their blessing to get married and for Amanda to live her life with me in America. Amanda’s parents and I get along great and we have been to numerous hurling matches and dinners together.

As evidence that my fiancée, Amanda and I have met each other in person and are getting married because we love each other, I am attaching several snapshots taken of us together in Ireland this year. Some of the photos are with her family at their house in Clare, as well as some others of the two of us around the Limerick area.

Good Luck
Amanda

Sorry for all the questions! We're confused newbies!
My American gf does not have a job (she is a teacher who is looking for a job). Her dad is going to sponsor us.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVisiting USA while waiting for I-129F approval
Just to specify, not police record! Police background check is different.
Police record is for those who have been arrested, in court, convicted... Etc
Background check is a check the police do in each country you lived for more than 6 months to prove you didn't commit any crime.
Thats my definitions anyway. Probably could be explained better!
Also police record is needed at the initial stage of application (I-129f). And from what I just learned; the background check is needed when I (the foreign fiancé) go to the embassy for my interview.
Please feel free to correct me! It can only help!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVisiting USA while waiting for I-129F approval
Hey everyone,
New to this site. So please excuse my ignorance!

First off, my American girlfriend and I are NOT engaged.

We have been together since February of 2009.

She is with me in Ireland at the moment. Just visiting.

She is leaving on Sunday and I am going to visit on Sept 1st on the Visa Waiver Program.

We have decided to take the next step in our relationship and go down the K-1 Visa route.

We will be meeting a lawyer to discuss our position when I visit in September.

Question: Can she file the I-129f once she gets home?
Will this affect me when I enter the country on Sept. 1st? (Will my name show up at my POE as having been petitioned for a visa?)
Is it better to wait until I get to America, and THEN file the I-129F?

Remember we're still not actually engaged yet!

Please help!

I simply wrote a letter including, for how long we know each other, the exact date I went to the country, how long I spend there and the date that you come back. If your visit is more than one time, put the latest visit in details. Since you can find the date of entry and exit on your passport, you don't have to approxmate it.

Good luck
