K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	I-129F Returned	Our I-129F application was returned yesterday after 18 days. I sent the application to the Omaha, NE address and I was supposed to send it to USCIS/NSC, PO Box 87130, Lincoln, NE 68501-7130. Also they said that they cannot accept personal checks and that it has to be a Cashier's Check or a Money Order. I am resending today overnite mail with a notification for delivery. So we're back to square one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brenda & Khalid Well... I also had my packet returned the first time my babe sent, in October 2005! He went to Des Moines Sub-Office personally and the officer "checked" the documentos and told him he could let the petition there because they would send that to Nebraska. (I wonder why that guy told Chris that!) Anyway, we noticed it was taking too long for us to receive the 1st NOA and Chris called there and couldn't talk to anybody. So, about one month later Chris decided to come back there to see where was the petition and the guy told they had'nt sent it to Nebraska because Chris had forgotten his form G-325... They told he could send this by mail to them, what he did! But another month had passed and any answer... Chris called again and nobody said anything. Some days later, the petition was sent back to Chris... They asked for the form that he had already sent and also for my translated divorce paper! (He had sent only the document in portuguese) That was really stressful! So, we got my document translated by a sworn translator and attached the missing form. Finally sent this in January to Nebraska and my process has been done in the normal way so far. That's good that they didn't make you wait for almost three months like they did with us! It's been over a month and no NOA1 yet, I get worried and feel hopeless, but I need to let off some steam. Where oh where is our NOA1??? This period of waiting is not normal... Did they cleared your paycheck already? Be persistent and call them untill you get a response. I sent my papers in October, 2005 and it passed one month, two, and almost three and we sometimes tried to talk to them and nobody told us what was wrong.... K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	CASE APPROVED AND NVC CONFIRMS RECEIPT	SHi everybody, does anybody know a telephone number to call from U.S. in order to know when exactly NVC sent our petition to the Consulate in the country of the beneficiary? On the 27th of April my fiance in U.S. got the confirmation by mail that NVC was going to send the petition to the American Consulate in order to send to me (I'm the beneficiary)packet 3 in Italy. Since it has been 2 weeks now we would like to know how long it takes to get Packet 3, or if this "famous" packet is on the way. Apparently it looks like that when my fiance try to contact them, they ask to press no. 1, then 2, then 3 but actually at the end you can't get an hold on nobody. Does anyone know, from personal experience, what number should be dialed from U.S., or the best way, in order to know when they sent the file to my country (which is the beneficiary country), in order to get "packet 3" ? Thanks to anybody who might help me for this matter, I really appreciate it!!!!! Humm... You should call your Consulate in Italy to see if they received your petition already! I am going to apply the K-1 visa for her. Can she interview in Canada? or she must go back to China and complete the interview? Anything I need to do when I submit the I-129F to request the interview in Canada? If she can interview in Canada, which embassy in Canada she should attend? She lives in Alberta. I hope anyone can give me the answer. Thank you As far as I'm concerned, the interview ALWAYS takes place in the country where the beneficiary is native from! So, she would have to come back to China to have her interview... As per the I-129F......it uses the word 'resident'.........not native of. Ones country of residence is not necessarily ones native country. Yes, I know about the diference... I just thought that it was obligatory to the beneficiary to have the interview in the country where he was born, but thanks God I can see now I was wrong! Good luck, Alameda! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	My case expired?! Now what?	I have made an appointment to meet with my congressperson! That was one of my friend's suggestion too. Do you think they could actually help? I never received any letters, nor did my fiance, warning us that our case might expire. I would think continually haranging the Embassy via email might be evidence enough that we still intend to marry! Would writing letter to the Embassy help at this point? Can they recall our petition? Yes, after the interview, they gave him a paper requesting additional documents Hm... Dunno about this, but concerning to the Congresman, I've seen a lot of people that have been helped by this person! Anyway, it doesn't seem to be fair the reason for them to have "denied" your visa! If the problem was only the sponsor thing, I agree with you... What would assure you that you would be approved if you applied for this visa again? On May 5th I received a letter dated May 1st from NVC stating, "Dear Petitioner, The State Department's National visa center has recenlty received an approved I-129F petition filed on the behalf of your fiance. This letter is to let you know that within a week the petition will be forwarded to the appropriate visa issuing post where your visa interview will take place." I called today, and they still have not sent it. I dont understand why it is still at NVC. Meriem What the hell?! Probably mine is there at NVC yet as well... I mean.... "Probably mine is there at NVC still as well..." Have you tried to call them? If you do let me know what they tell you. They told me today, Even though I received the letter last week, they are not done processing it. That normally it takes 2-4 weeks processing at NVC. I kept referring to the letter I received and she said, "You will receive a second letter once they are finished processing it. Just makes no sense. There are petitions that are arriving to NVC after mine and have already been sent to the embassies. Meriem Hmm... But did they already gave you your case number? I guess this "touching" thing depends on the immigration officer that is working on your case! Some of them use to touch the cases and some others don't! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	NVC Dates? How do you find these out?	Ah, I forgot to say that they didn't answer to any of the 4 e-mails that I sent them before receiving their letter... Anyway, I think that you should start calling and/or e-mailing them about 2 weeks after the approval... But try to do it around 7:00 am or late in the night because, since the K-1 petitions doesn't enter in their automated system, you will need to talk to an operator to get right informations about your case! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	NVC Dates? How do you find these out?	Pretty much meaningless for a K1 visa, as they do almost no "value added" processing. They receive it from the USCIS Center, and put Dept of State control numbers and case numbers into the system. They send you a letter telling you that tthey have it and will be sent shorly to the US Consulate involved. Usually by the time you receive the letter, it has already left. Does the petitioner USC get notified when the info gets to the foreign Embassy? Thanks for replies. Larry NVC seems "weird" to deal with this communication thing! My USC fiance got a letter from NVC in the mail two weeks and half after the approval with the case number assigned, and saying they were fowarding the petition to my Consulate! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Notice from NVC	Hi all I just received a notice from NVC, comfirming my petition will be forwarded to the embassy. Is this mean that they already sent to the Consulate? or will be sent to the embassy soon? Any advice on this? Bill Congratulations!! Well, I don't know if they have actually fowarded my papers to the consulate already, but it's just because Chris doesn't want to call NVC to see if they have already sent the papers and because my consulate does not answer to my e-mails and it takes too long to be able to talk to an operator there... It's a 40 minute long-distance call (on avarage)... Too expansive for me to afford! So, I just need to be patient and wait for someone to answer my e-mail in Rio de Janeiro! It sucks, though... I suggest you to call NVC in the middle of the next week to check if they have already sent your petition... Try to call early in the morning or next to midnight (NVC time)... I don't know what is the hold up? The notice they sent me stated within 1 week. Bill Sometimes they take a little more than one week to foward the papers to the Consulate....
