K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresReceived NOA 2 Hardcopy

Ok do I stay in this forum or am I now moving on to another one.
I recieved my NOA 2 via snail mail today.
I am so excited for myself and at the same time it is bitter sweet because I know there are those whose hearts are broken who have been waiting longer than I have and yet to have the support from those who still wait is a blessing. Thank you everyone who has been, is and will be here for not only me but others also. I pray everynight for what I call the VJ CREW that things move swiftly and smoothly.

That is very sweet! Thank you. I hope everything goes swiftly for you from here on out!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPetition ready to go
The initial submission is kinda agonizing. If you're anything like me, as soon as you send it, you'll think of lots of little things you might have done wrong. Par for the course! It sounds like you have everything in order, as long as all the little technicalities are taken care of.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresComplete view of March to June timelines for CSC
Definately NOT underfunded. The received extra money this year to hit their goal of 6 months or less in processing times. ALSO keep in mind they took in 1.3 (?) BILLION dollars in fees. BILLION! For 1 billion, I would run this m***f** and have all applications approved in 4 months or less. Oh ya, and it woudl be mostly automated!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresComplete view of March to June timelines for CSC

I made these charts to send to my elected officials. But it put things in perspective for me so well I thought I would share them. These are jpg screen shots of the charts. If anyone wants the original .doc files PM me with your email and I will send them. You will need MS Word to look at the original doc files. Wordpad makes them look jumbled.
I filtered the list to show only K-1 petitions submitted to or transferred to the CSC with dates starting March 6 (the day IMBRA went into effect and everything seemed to fall apart) to the last petition approved for a June NOA1 date. It is sorted by NOA1 dates from earliest to latest. I also included the total number of days it took for approved petitions. Here is the breakdown of the approved vs waiting petitons. As you can see it is pretty close to random.
March:..........81 total petitions...........47 approved...........34 waiting
April:............60 total petitions...........37 approved...........23 waiting
May:.............62 total petitions...........32 approved...........30 waiting
June:............26 total petitions...........13 approved...........13 waiting

You need to download the pictures to your computer and view them at 100% or you can't read them. Just clicking on the link gives me a crappy view in a browser. For those less computer savy here is how you do it.
Right click on the link, choose "save Target as" and pick a spot on your computer to save. Then open with your favorite picture viewer! If things look blurry make sure you are viewing at 100%.
I would have posted the pictures in a post but they take up a lot of real estate. So here are the links.
Enjoy!!

You can add us to this also. NOA 1 date was 4/4/04 originally at NSC, now of course at CSC. I am considering sending you the case number also, then if we had that when we say we see people getting approved, we coudl even provide more information. I don't see the harm in that.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresso what's wrong wit CSC
Unfricking believable. I about lost my mind when I saw they are now processing OLDER petitions than the March 6th (which was the IMBRA effective date, even though it was signed January 5th!)

I honestly can't believe the incompetence with USCIS. I had a friend who had to get a handwritten (no letterhead) letter to work. It looks like that place is run by a bunch of three year olds, and even then I think it migth be better. What annoys me EVEN more is the fact that files just sit there literally for months and no processing takes place on them. Oh, ya and the fact the imbra form COULD have been posted back in january or february so they didn't have to send out 10,000 letters for those waiting.

How the hell will we ever legalize 15 million+ people when they can't get SIMPLE forms right. Good Lord! We are now going to file for me in her home country as well, and we will see how fast their process goes (usually less than 1 month).

I honestly give up. No more waiting for this person, this is complete incompetence.

If you sign the petition (as you should) do NOT include your receipt number. People who have already signed and posted their receipt numbers should remove them at once.

but the signatures of people who have not been waiting 6 months will do nothing. you could start a "we've been waiting 3 months petition" ?

I would vote we ALL sign it. As I have personally stated, if I am approved, this thing is going to still have legs. I can't let anyone else go through this #######. So dzy88p, please do sign it. what we are looking for is accountability so people in the future don't go through this crapola.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFormal call for immigration reform...
I agree with the original poster. Let's stop complaining just here, let's DO SOMETHING about it.

I have started a petition online.. Yes, I know this is a simple start, but I am extremely hopeful and optomistic that eventually this petition could have thousands of signatures so that we can get USCIS to be accountable and to actually allow greet people with the "open arms, not long lines" that is spouted off at the political mouth.

Anyway, here is to us, let's see how many people are willing to help a little and give it support.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTouches, but no updates???
Ok, so I understand USCIS can *touch* our files, but no updates. How hard would it be for them to just say what they did in an email a sentence or two long.

Example:

8/31/06: Touched your case file to move it from one room to another
9/07/06: Touched your file accidently while reaching for my coffee that was sitting on it.

USCIS communication absolutely has to be the worse in the world....

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPlease update your Insane List! Approved!
I post this with some reservation, as I always had a sore spot when people who submitted their application well after me were approved.

CSC has FINALLY approved our application! Now, I can't dance since I am at work..and i know we still have a ways to go, but now that it is out of CSC things hopefully will go smoother, they surely can't go any worse.

So after
Emailing both of Iowa's Senators several times, and with several of their inquiries
Faxing the Director at CSC (number given by a USCIS rep to me)
Forming our online petition (see my signature)
Going insane every second of the day...

and after 157 days, we are finally approved. Please remove me from the insanity list (at least temporarily).

Thank you to everyone on here, and I am still pushing forward on our petition, I don't want anyone else to experience what we have experienced, and I still want accountability at USCIS.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAlmost 3 Weeks, NVC says it could take 90 Days???
Ok, so normally once the case is processed (from what I have seen) when it leaves CSC, it takes a few weeks at most to get to the NVC to forward it on.

However, I have been waiting now 3 weeks, and contacted NVC each week. I keep getting a differnet answer, some of the reps say wait 4 weeks, other say wait 3 months...so which is it????

WHY is this taking so long to have the freakin mail from CSC to the NVC????
David and MarinaNot Telling02006-09-28 08:07:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAnyone have NOA2 Approval on September 7th and NVC NOT receive the case?
Oh this just gets more and more fun.

The NVC has yet to receive our case from USCIS and it has been 35 days. They of course say call USCIS, which I did, and then got transferred and put on hold for an hour (even though the "estimated" hold time as 25 minutes), so I just hung up.

NVC says, "Odd we usually receive those and forward them on in about 2 weeks.

Anyway, wondered if my case was the only one lost in the mail or if there is a batch or ours.

Thanks,

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresSending forms to NVC overnight
I can't speak for the NVC, but I work in the mail room of an agency that processes lots of incoming applications and time sensitive stuff. When we get something special delivered (FedEx, DHL, UPS or USPS Express/Priority Mail) I open it immediately and deliver it to whomever's gonna process it. Things that come in the regular mail get opened in a batch, generally once a day, then delivered immediately to a processor. I'm pretty sure that once a document makes it to the processor, though, it's processed at the same rate as anything else. Well, maybe rush deliveries get picked off the processing stack first because they're shiny.

But I suspect NVC has a lot more rush deliveries than my office does. It's unlikely it makes much difference in internal processing speed.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduressending evidence without an RFE
Thank you so much. The reassuance is very nice. :)

As the requirements indicate, you need only prove that you met once within two years.

With your entire passport photocopied, supported by his visa stamp and all the other items mentioned, you don't need to worry.

Good luck in your journey.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduressending evidence without an RFE
I included every page of my passport for proof of citizenship, then another copy of the stamp in mine for the evidence section. For his passport I didn't include the photo page. I should have, and I have a copy of it, I just foolishly decided not to. They can't tell that stamp is from his passport anyway, it doesn't have his name on that page or anything.

Anyway, I think it's probably enough evidence, and if it's not, I have more I can send. So we won't be rejected or anything. I'm just generally excited and nervous now that I've started the K1 process. :)

Did you include the photo page of the passports, with the entry stamps?

It appears that your evidence is reasonable.

Good point Icey.

Either way though OP, you should not send unsolicited evidence, based upon an assumption that your evidence was insufficient.

No one on this site is a USCIS case worker, or at least that is the belief.

Out of curiosity, what did you send as evidence?

I sent a flight itinerary from my trip to the UK, and one from his trip here, and his boarding pass for the flight here and ticket receipt for the flight home. I send a copy of the Chicago POE stamp in his passport and one of mine from Gatwick. Also there are five photos of us together with the dates and circumstances handwritten on the back, one that clearly shows us in front of Buckingham Palace, one of us in downtown Chicago, two that show us with my friends. I stuck in some proof of ongoing relationship in the form of online chat transcripts.

After reading the RFE thread, I wish I had included bank statments showing purchases I made in London and the hotel room I paid for in Chicago.

You are going through UK - so I would say don't worry about it. You need more evidence if going through one of the high fraud countries.
For us - we went through Colombia and all the evidence I sent was 2 photos together, a copy of my itinerary and one line on when we met on the form. Don't worry. Good Luck

Cool :D

I'm finishing my MA here and should graduate in December. Unless I get a good job offer somewhere else, though, I'm gonna stay here in Bloomington while I do this K1 thing, just to keep everything simple (insofar as any of this is simple).

Thankfully, I've never been married. No need to listent to him.

In other news, Bloomington! Yay! I graduated from IU in December!

Might as well include it.. try turning up the darkness/contrast on the copier so it shows up a bit. Or hold it with your hand so that gets into the copy and provides some definition for the edge of the paper. Also mark it like she said.
