K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Dated pictures	I've been reading through the appeal decisions here (very interesting) and I notice a lot of them mention "undated photos" that can't establish when the people were really together. So what counts as a dated photo? Do they have to have a timestamp put there by the camera (easy to fake)? Should there be something in the photo itself, like a newspaper, that shows the date? Or is it enough just to write the date on the back? I know USCIS can be kinda capricious about what they RFE for, but I'm just wondering if anyone has experience with this dated photo issue.	heishe	Female	England	2006-09-14 10:38:00

Not to mention you won't answer the what cdonsulate question which has been asked tons of times. There are tons of older immigrants who can't even write or read anything more than the most basic English. It's completely consistent. One does not need an English degree to become a US citizen. I didn't say theyn weren't. I only questioned it, because the OP seems young (by typing style). K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	What level of postal service did you use...	I used express mail the first time I sent it, no signature required, just online tracking. When I sent it the second time, I used priority mail with no tracking or receipt confirmation. It was $4.something as opposed to $14.something express mail, and I really wasn't worried it would get lost or something. Before all that, I tried to send it FedEx, but they said they couldn't take it since it was going to a PO Box. Even the address USCIS gives for FedEx shipments has a PO Box number on it, so I just couldn't do it like that. Looks like if you don't get an RFE it might take two months to get through CSC.. then another month till you get packet three from the embassy.. then however long it takes them to get him in for an interview. Maybe four to seven months? But who knows? These things are really hard to predict, and some people get RFEs even though they have tons of evidence. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Visa Journey represents what %	As VJ seems to be the best source of information available to K1 applicants anywhere around, I'd guess VJ members might statistically have a bit easier time getting approved. According to that source, there were 32,900 K1 entrants in 2005. Suppose that this is a reasonable guess of how many applications they have. Looking at the Immigration Timelines, we have 1150 applications so far in 2006, which will probably mean about 1500 for the year. Thus we are about 5% of the applications. When presidential polls are done of 100,000,000 voters (a guess), they poll about 1000-1500 people, and get results that are accurate within 3%. If our membership is typical of K1 applicants, then analysis of our applications is probably a pretty good picture of what's going on with all applicants. Overall, Internet users may be more affluent and/or computer savy than others. But if you don't meet the poverty guidelines (directly or with help), then you probably won't start the process. Thus it would surprise me if VJ members are substantially different than the rest of the applicant pool. Also some steps in the process are totally independent of income. When they return it because of some basic problem with payment or signatures or something, it's rejected. It says it on the cover leter. Rejected. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	How to Pack the Packet	I used paperclips to hold multi-page forms together, but other than that I just submitted a loose stack of papers stuck right into the express mail envelope. It was all returned to me because I forgot to sign it, and it had been sorted and fastened together. I think USCIS can handle it, no matter what you do.
