K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNeed Help on problem
Make sure you send an official copy of your divorce decree.

And I wonder if you can get some of that $1000 back. That lawyer screwed you over.

It's talking about NOA2, but it doesn't really mean much. It's just based on the average experience of other VisaJourney users. There's lots of variation. It's likely you'll have your NOA2 long before that date. But some people take longer.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIs the K1 route the only way for us?
As long as the UK wedding is not legally binding or officially registered, your plan should be fine. You could also file for a K3 after marrying in the UK, but you'd probably have to be apart several months after your wedding.

I find that highly unlikely. Maybe USC females who want to marry ME/NA men.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThe CSC and there ways

Brasil is the name of the country.

Only in the same way Estados Unidos is the name of a country.

That's been my point the whole time. I don't understand why you'd want to spell it "Brasil." That's its name, sure...in PORTUGUESE.

If you're an English teacher, why would you want to butcher English? I'm a copy editor, and I ABHOR this sort of thing.

It's the name of the country in the primary language of that country, just like United States of America is the name of this country in the primary language of this country. That's not like Estados Unidos at all; it's rather more like Kolkata. They're both corrections from anglicised versions of place names. This is a dumb fight, btw.

Don't worry. Just tell the truth. It's not a problem as long as you don't overstay.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A Form help

When you complete the first page on Adobe the next 3 are automatically completed with the same answers. You each have to sign 4 pages.
They're not exactly the same in the sense that each page goes somewhere differently so you need to sign all 4.
If you have a supplement for one page then you should include it for each page.
Hope this makes sense.

Thanks :) Its clearer now! lol! So do both people fill one out each? Or just the USC?

One each - Four pages for you and four pages for him.

Hurray!! Congratulations!! It feels so great, doesn't it?

And hopefully, since we waited an extra week to get the notice, our petitions are already halfway to NVC!

Well the good news is that after almost 2 months of waiting on a response I finally got some good news. My case was approved yesterday. Thanks to you all for your support.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow Many Sept Filers Are Manically Checking For Touches?
I was a mad woman last week. Before our touch on the 14th, I checked a few times each day. After that I was checking all the freakin time. I got locked out of my account a lot. I went a little crazy.

It's all over now. It's like a distant memory! Soon it will be the same for you! But that was no consolation for me a few days ago. Fortunately, our madness doesn't slow time.

On the topic of touches, I was interested to read Jezebelseven's post which stated that she never got any touches, but received an NOA2 e-mail today.

http://www.visajourn...showtopic=42556

Maybe our time is better spent manically checking e-mail.

J

On the other hand, I got touched when my application was approved, but received no email and there was no online status update. So I didn't know it was an approval till the hard copy arrived in the mail on Monday.

Even now my status is -

Current Status: Case received and pending.

On September 5, 2006, we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)...

My poor I-129f friends, USCIS loves to torture you.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThank you St Expedite
Ha, same here, I sent in an employment history supplement for my fiance and he didn't sign it, so I had him print four copies and sign them and send them to me. Didn't need it! It was scary, though! You think about all the things you might have done wrong!
heisheFemaleEngland2006-11-30 06:37:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCSC Processing times
People occasionally take as long as six months or more to get approved by CSC, but most files get through CSC in two or three months. The date on the USCIS website is very misleading. It really just means people from after April who are still waiting shouldn't call to complain, because their cases are within "normal processing times". But most people get approved much more quickly.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSending documents left out of 129F
I think tons of people have these fears - you send your package off and immediately think of a bunch of things you might have done wrong. Don't worry! The evidence you sent sounds pretty good!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiance for a 17 years old..

I don't really think we need to tell them that it's not appropriate for them to get married. Different cultural norms and whatnot. They didn't come here to be told how to live their lives. Now when it's a 50 year old guy asking how he can marry his 16-year-old Filipina molestee, THAT'S when I start voicing my opinion a little louder.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow should I submit pictures??

Thanks for all the help everyone!

Another question:

I read that when I submit everything it should be fastened together with ACCO type clips and that it should be TOP bound.

Does that mean that I should hole-punch my documents?! I don't feel very good about punching holes in any official documentation.

How did everyone here submit their forms?

Thanks always!!

Again, you don't have to do that. They'll take care of it for you. I'd say just put your stuff in an envelope or a folder and call it good.
heisheFemaleEngland2006-12-03 21:05:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow should I submit pictures??
I submitted my photos in a Ziploc. My petition was returned because it was missing a signature, but USCIS had already arranged everything, and my Ziploc had been tossed and the photos put in a plain manilla envelope.

USCIS will tear your petition apart and re-organize it as they want. Don't waste time making everything into a perfect scrapbook.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat I Learned About Evidence
I included five photos of us together, showing us with a couple of my friends and us in front of identifyable landmarks in London and Chicago, with approximate dates and locations hand-written on the back. I also included a copy of my passport with London airport stamp, a copy the Chicago stamp and bio page from his passport, a copy of a couple of his boarding passes (I tossed mine long ago), a printout of flight itineraries (mine to London, his to Chicago), and a copy of my bank records showing tickets purchased and debit card use in London. Oh yeah, we also included five pages of MSN chat transcripts, but I'm sure they weren't necessary or useful.

The first time I sent the packet I left out my bank records and his passport bio page, but my packet was returned because I forgot to sign it and I stuck them in then. :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAnyone ever have any of the emails from the USCIS go to their spam box?
I never got any, haha. USCIS still says my case is pending.

But when I changed my password, a confirmation email went to my gmail, so I know it works. I suppose someday in a few years I'll get my approval email.

heisheFemaleEngland2006-12-04 16:24:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow much is this all going to cost us?

Totally depends on how your case proceeds. Ours hasn't gone smoothly at all and with attorney fees, flights, filing fees, repeated EAD applications, etc. we have spent close to the tune of $75,000!

The answer to your question "how much is this going to cost" is like asking "how long is a piece of string".

That's a lot of flights.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBetter late than never, I guess
I got my USCIS approval emails last night at 9:15. They claim to have sent my approval notice yesterday. Actually they sent it November 14th and my case is at the embassy now. But I appreciate the effort!

Not in system yet. :(

You did talk to an operator right? Otherwise the automated system will always show you are not in the system yet. (F)

I'm sure ours rode over together so maybe the pile for the UK is just larger and they haven;t gotten the number assinged yet. Try again tomorrow!

Yep, I talked to a nice man named Dimitri. I'm not too worried really. It'll show up eventually. It's probably already there. :)

After all that time together on the same desk in CSC, i guess this is where we part ways. My petition is going to miss your petition
