United Kingdomsending games to UK
My boy has an American PS2 because he took mine. :)

So now he has to order American games. But when he moves back here in a couple months, we'll be all set, and I can play all the games that have been absorbing like 94% of his attention over the last few months.

Um, but we're gonna have to get a TV - I threw mine out when he took the PS2. :luv:

United KingdomPacket 4
I emailed with the subject line "LND 2006 xxxxxx K1 inquiry" and they responded the next business day. They added a code to the subjet line, like Caroline mentions, but different numbers than hers. Anyway, my email didn't have that in there initially and they responded just fine. I suspect those codes are different for everyone and I really wouldn't recommend using hers! They seem to really hate being flooded with email, but if you just write them once and are very polite and concise and have some legitimate reason to be contacting them it's not a problem. Anyway, don't write again till you hear something.

Pigu just got a new MMR jab because NHS lost his records. Don't kids get a booster shot four or five years after the first one? Will USCIS want him to have that as well?

This thread is exciting. As far as I know, Pigu doesn't need me to find things from his homeland - he can entertain himself on the internet and we already found a source of Marmite, so we should be good. But it's fun to plan being together. :D

Is there no hold on that phone number? I got a message saying everyone was unavailable helping other people and to call back....I will call again later.

Also, didn't there used to be a place on the Travel.state.gov site that allowed you to plug in your case number and check your status?

Weird, I've never gotten that. I usually get put on hold for just a couple minutes.

man....it seems EVERYONE is getting their date before us and we returned our packet 3 before all of you (Dec 4). This sucks. Ok, well not for you guys cause you have your date. Congrats! of course..Im just being grumpy right now... Maybe we just got stuck with the slow person at the embassy.

Here is a number you need to call: (001 from the UK) 202-663-1225

Once the recorded message answers, just press 1, then press 0, then press 0 again...no need to keep waiting for the message to finish speaking.

This is the State Department in Washington DC. They can tell you if your Visa date has been allocated and if your forms have been entered into the computer. We found out our interview date from them even before our letter was posted.

They are really nice...so much nicer than the London Embassy.

Just be sure to have your Case Number ready!!!

Oh, they are on Eastern time and only open from 8:30 til 5pm Monday to Friday.

Good luck!!

Jenni

I call that every day at lunch. So impatient! Forms still not entered as of today noon. :(

Hey! Welcome. For K1 interview at London, you need a I-134 affadavit of support, not I-864.

London won't send out P3 before they get your case from NVC, which gets your case from USCIS after NOA2. You can definitely work on preparing all the documents ahead of time, though, so you can have P3 forms and checklist ready to return as soon as you get it in the mail from embassy.

USCIS Service CentersVSC OR CSC
Right now in these moments, CSC is moving really fast while VSC is seeming to take forever. The average processing time is 5 months, CSC is taking around 3 months and I think VSC is around 6 or 7 months. However all that could change at anytime, the key is to have patience. Find other activities to occupy yourself and keep busy. It's a touch wait, but well worth it!!!
aws&nddMaleColombia2012-09-24 07:47:00
USCIS Service CentersHow they process file at VSC
There is no need to separate based on country. In this stage of the process ALL I-129f petitions are treated equal. After NOA2 and the approved petition is sent to the embassy is where the difference is.

Best advice I can give you, as others have as well, is consult with a lawyer. They will better be able to help you to see what you can do and where you stand.

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)2nd 221g for wedding preparations from petitioner
Do you have an officiate already? Have them write a statement saying that you've made arrangements with them to officiate the wedding. If you've got an arrangement to not pay a deposit or booking fee until you have a date, have the officiate say so.

Likewise for the photographer.

VietnamGot Greencard after interview.

Not every AOS case will have an interview. I've read countless on here that haven't.

You say your 'disappointed in our system' - how come?

Congratulations on having it all done!

I guess some of the delays was my own fault, rfe and crooks for surgeon generals. Alot of dishonest people doing k1's and cr-1's made all the honest petitioner pay for the sometimes long drawn out approvals and denials.

VietnamGot Greencard after interview.
After a 30 minute interview with the immigration services, my wife and 2 children were approved a 2 year card. I asked the officer why we were interviewed and she replied "Every k1 and K2 has a Aos interview". I think that not true, ive read here and have talked to people who didn't have interview. Please respond if you have heard of that. Anyway it's done and over, disappointed in our system but in the same instance happy it's done...

They also have a driver's handbook in Vietnamese. Hope that's the one she's studying.

http://dmv.ca.gov/pu...hdbk/dl600V.pdf

My step-kids both passed the written test the first time, but both failed the driving test the first time. My step-son failed because he didn't put on his windshield wipers before leaving the carport at the DMV (it was lightly sprinkling). My step-daughter, on the other hand, nearly clobbered a parked car leaving the DMV parking lot. She was taking the test in the driving instructor's car, and the test administrator wrote on the denial sheet that he had to use the instructor's brake pedal or she would have hit the car.

My step-daughter needs to practice a lot more, but my step-son has already bought a car and drives it to work every day.

My wife likes to be chauffeured. She's passed to written test, but hasn't made any attempt to learn to drive a car. I took her to a shopping center parking lot to practice a few times, but I think she needs the professional VN instructor we hired for my step-kids.

There are five different tests in Vietnamese. Hope you've got a cheat sheet for every one of them.

Knowing my luck I got the wrong one. lol. It worked for my coworkers wife in Iowa.

Hello VJers

Wanted to update those of you that were here while we were going through the visa process. My wife and stepson arrived at SFO May 5th. We used IOM, the ticket was less expensive and the service was awesome.

Stepson is in 5th grade, hes doing great, has lots of friends and a great teacher. He rides his bike to school everyday.

We bought a house, waiting for escrow to close.

Wife has been to dmv more times than she will let me say to get her drivers permit  , they have a Vnese version of the test but it doesnt seem to help. Shes stressing over passing, all I can do is encourage her and say "Next time we will get it".

She's still looking for work. There has been a couple interviews by recruiters but nothing has come from it. Hoping to get hired on somewhere for the holidays.
We went to the pumpkin patch last weekend, did the corn maze, pumpkin blaster and haunted house, the expression on my sons face was priceless. He's going to be dracula for halloween.

To all those going through the visa process, be patient and no matter how long it takes, hang in there, its soooo worth it. Im thankful everyday that my wife and son are here. Life is so good.

Frank

I took my wife to the the DMV, they had it in Vietnamese but shes not fluent in that language or computers. We got a cheat sheet from one of our friends, basically the test with all the answers, so soon I will take her back. Nice to here your sons doing good. My step kids are tops in there high school and the teachers are amazed at how much they know and how quick there learning English. They will be fluent in 3 languages. I have trouble speaking one. lol
Best wishes. Rich

VietnamOffice job vs Doing Nails or Hair

It seems to me that many people who come here from Vietnam have a difficult time finding work. The default, from what I hear, is the nail or salon job.

My wife wants a normal office type job. She is going to nail school just to have it as a backup. She took a job this passed week for Allstate insurance. This particular branch is VN owned and operated I suspect from what she tells me. I wonder if they are taking advantage of her. The other people in that office are VN also. I digress.

Anyway, her English is excellent and she was an Administrative Manager for an architectural firm in HCMC before coming here, and really smart and good with people.

I think we are finding that with her resume, American employers are unable to do background checks, check up on recent employment and personal references because they are all based in Vietnam. It isn't necessary for her to work. I make enough to take care of everything. But she doesn't like to stay home all day. I don't blame her.

I am curious to learn about your personal experiences with this and looking forward to your ideas. By the way, we are in Dallas, Texas.

All the best,
Jerry & Fiona

PS. We are so happy here together.

What ever makes your wife happy. I didn't expect much income from my wife's employment after she got here. She works in a nail shop and is very happy working 7 days a week, the money is very good :). Granted I don't see her until around 7:30 each night, I've gotten used to it. Like your wife, mine didn't like sitting around the house either.

VietnamIs it a bad idea to refile k-1

The reasons for the denial will have to be addressed. A spousal visa petition does not exist in a vacuum. Everything in your/fiancee's USCIS file will be considered.

OOPs didn't mean to reply to Anh's reply....

Hire Marc Ellis he's in HCM. The best Lawyer in East Asia(my opinion and I'm sure many others). The preparation my fiancee had by his office before the interview was intense and rigorous by the time she was ready for interview there wasn't nothing she didn't know about me.

He will give the best advice!
Best wishes! Rich

My now wife recently had interview, I had a serious assault in my 20's, we disclosed it in the I129f, told my then fiancée. It was never brought up in interview. HCM Consulate by the sounds of it make there own rules and follow general rules when they want too.

Vietnamany Input on my situation...
I'd hire Marc Ellis and Mr Nam. They are best Immigration Lawyers in Vietnam. They are great handling Red Flags and will not leave any stone unturned. My wifes journeys was 10 months after filing. the preparation alone 3 weeks before interview alone was worth every penny. She was prepared for any question the Co threw at her. Answered in English and later in Vietnamese, neither her English or Vietnamese was good she needed all the prepping she could get.

best of luck. Rich.

VietnamWhere to start?

Do you realize for Vietnam Consulate a K-1 route is almost a guarantee for failure? K-1 route tends to be favored by people who committed in fake/arranged marriages (VN I'm talking about now) and the US Consulate knows how to turn away those people, by rejecting those petitions as much as they can.

Hmm? Never heard that . Did the k-1, 10months from time of filing to her arrival on my door step. Post a link to your findings, I sure like to know.

P.S Da que or whoever you are were still together. Sorry you had such a bad experience. Once again your post are worthless garbage.

My wife Co was more intrested in why there wern't more pics of me and her kids. She answered when we were on our little excursions together the kids were in school. It must of been a good answer.
