Looks like I asked my questions a little too early lol. Just got my NOA1 in the mail. Thanks again for the replies smile.gif

In your timeline, it says you filed on June 19th - is that when CSC received it?

CSC received my package on that day. Can't wait to check my mailbox tonight!!!

BTW, my check was cashed 2 days ago.

Yeah, that's when they received it at CSC.

Thanks for the fast replies rose.gif That makes me feel better, I'm still worried about the whole thing. I probably have nothing to worry about, but still lol.

We send my removal of conditions package away a few weeks ago and tracked it on the USPostal site. It said that my package was transferred from Nebraska to California. Is that normal? blink.gif I haven't received my NOA yet, and the last time we checked they hadn't cashed the check yet either.

Canadawhat to bring to the interview?

hey all!

silly question, but what exactly besides the checklist do I bring to the interview?
do I need my fiance's birth certificate?
anything else?

thx
Elunia28 :luv:

I had my interview last week, and they asked for OF-167 signed by my fiance. I thought this form was optional and needed only if co-sponsor is used, which we didn't. Anyway, luckily my fiance was with me and he signed OF-167 right there. They didn't ask for his birth certificate, just mine. If you were born in Canada, you need a long form certificate. They had all the documents we send with I-129F, so I guess they already have USC birth certificate. They only take USD cash for the visa, no money orders or cr. cards. Hope this helps.
Senka

what is the fee for the actual visa itself?

can i make an appointment before i even get my packet 3?
we are still waiting for approval for the I-129F, but i want to get my appointment booked so i don't have to wait once we get approval.
is this possible?
or do you need proof that you were approved before they allow you to make an appointment?

CanadaWe made it across
thanks hockeygal.
i just got a job for the month of of june and most of july up until i go to visit my husband.
will paystubs from this job be okay to show them?
i won't be going back to the job, but they don't know that.
and what if i bring some mail with my address on it?
does that mean anything to them.
i think i am gonna call the border tomorrow morning and see what they say.
ShannyFemaleCanada2006-05-25 11:18:00
CanadaWe made it across
i was hoping that maybe you guys could answer a few questions for me.
i want to go visit my husband in july for about 2-3 weeks.
i will be driving down with my family (it is only an 8 hour drive) and then my husband will be bringing me back to canada 2-3 weeks after that.
we are currently waiting for my I-129f for my k-3 visa to go through.
the thing is, i don't have a job at the time or a lease to show them that i will be returning to canada.
if i show them my noa receipts will this be enough for them?
it is obvious that i have to come back to canada for my interview anyways.
will this be alright?
or totally illegal?
i will be honest with them.
oh, and how long will they let you visit while a visa is pending?
thanks.
ShannyFemaleCanada2006-05-25 00:20:00
CanadaDS 156
i was also concerned about this question.
i am still waiting on my I-129f approval, but i have started filling out this form.
i think i might just say that i have crossed the border several times throughout my life but then also give them dates that i have visited the US in the last year.
this way, they at least have some kind of dates to go by.
hope that helps.
good luck.

CanadaDenied entry at Rainbow Bridge
my husband (US citizen) came to pick me up in canada on the june 9-11th weekend.
we only live an 8 hour drive apart.
we crossed the border sunday morning and it was a breeze.
i brought along my rental agreement, our NOA1s and some bank statements.
they looked at it, stamped our passports, entered some stuff in the computer and told us to have a good trip.
i think it all depends on the border officer.
he was so nice and helpful, he even said that i could stay for up to six months.
that was almost three weeks ago now, and i am gonna stay until mid-august.
it is so nice being here.
:)

quick question - do i have to send/fax the ds-156 to vancouver?
or do i just bring it to the interview?
the ds-230 and the checklist is all i have to fax, correct?

first you send the ds-230 then once you get everything from the checklist done you can fax the checklist. everything else you bring to the interview

i have everything done - the checklist and the ds-230.
i am gonna fax them both together on tuesday.

i am getting really frustrated.
i STILL haven't heard from vancouver.
i emailed them last wednesday about requesting a certain date for my interview and they still haven't gotten back to me.
do i have to go to their website or something and request a specific date there?
i am so confused.
i sure hope that everything is alright with my case.

it took them about a week to reply to my email. call them. it's the quickest way to get an answer. i usually call at around 2:15 PST and get through right away.

CanadaVancouver is soooooooo great!

I emailed them the other day to find out who I should be notifying about a change of address, and they emailed me back the same day to say they will note the new address and send the packet there when they get the file from NVC... then they told me that in the meantime I could go about getting a few things together, like a passport and birth certificate. I was impressed!

grrrrr...they must hate me!!!!
i just hope they love me at the interview.

I'm 0 for 2 on the same-day e-mail response. ;) Vancouver apparently doesn't like me so much.

i'm in the same boat.
i emailed them on wednesday night, and STILL no response.
i emailed them again about an hour ago, so hopefully i'll hear from them soon.

CanadaOF-167

hmmm, weird.
i emailed vancouver asking them about the OF-167 and I-134 and they said that i didn't need these forms.
i am confused.
do K-3 visa applicants even need these at the interview?

I'd say no. I emailed Vancouver asking the same question, and they said those forms aren't needed for the K3. They aren't included on the K3 checklist, either.

Good luck at your interview!

thank you very much.
good luck to you too.

oh, and what about W2's, employment letter, etc.
does my husband have to give me these items as well?

can you please tell me where you got the OF-167?
my interview is on the 16th of october in vancouver and i have no idea where to find it.

yup, i got my package three at the end of august.
all that they sent was the checklist and instructions on how to obtain the DS-230 and DS-156.
nothing else.
they didn't say anything about the I-134 or the OF-167.
can you download the OF-167?

we are going to canada for christmas as well!

Canadaweird topic but: bringing christmas gifts to canada
just letting you all know that we had no problem at all.
i decided to chance it and wrap all the gifts.
the border officer didn't say a thing about it.
all he wanted to know was how much money we had in gifts and what was the most expensive gift.
he didn't say a word about them being wrapped up.
:)
