Hey everyone,

My I-129f was received on August 17th and ive still not heard back regarding my NOA2. Im starting to get really paranoid.

It seems some people who applied around this same date have heard back and we still havent.

Any advice? Or is it just sit back and wait??

Many thanks

Rhys

Ours is July 23rd and no touches or anything yet. Just hang in there, it seems that there is no telling when it will get done.

QUOTE (kabhatti @ Dec 22 2009, 04:43 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
As a rule, I would think transiting through a country does not mean you've actually been there. If you enter immigration and they stamp your passport, then that would be an official visit you'd want to list.

Thanks, that is what I was thinking but wanted to get some opinions.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsQuestion on Ds157
This may sound stupid but when filling out Ds157 question 9 asks for all countries entered in the last 10 years. Does this mean airports or trains or other transportation through a country on the way to a final destination or only countries that were your final destination?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsworried about delayed K1 Petition
Once you pass the 5 month processing time call USCIS and they will start a service request. I did that on December 24th which was 1 day past my 5 months. It was really a coincidence that later that same day I received an email notifying that we were approved.

Dear VJ Members,

My fiance and I are quite worried about our K1 petition filed last July 30, 2009. We received our NO1 last August 5, 2009 and until now we didn't hear anything from them. We are quite reading news and updates from a lot of VJ Members which have the same timeline with us about the progress of their respective K1 petition. Some got so lucky, they had the process so quite speedy which some of them had already their final approval of visa or others are just awaiting for Interviews, etc.

We in fact follow-up and called USCIS to check about our pending petition, my fiance even went there personally to check and all they can say is that "The K1 petition is on Review". We fully understand the process and all the patience needed but the long waiting, anticipation, long distance are killing us both.

Any thoughts why there are some petitioners got the process quick and some like us who are very unlucky to be placed in the bottom of the waiting list?

Good luck to everyone and we are happy for those who got a very speedy process. We are fully in your side, same as our longing to be with each other arms. We are keep praying that one day, our turn will come and we will got that approval. whistling.gif

Thanks.

Hello, do you have a lawyer that would make follow up on your papers?
You just wait, it takes 5 months to process the K-1

We don't have a lawyer. We just did the process and filing by ourselves.

We know that it will take 5 months for the whole process, our just plain concern is that our case has not been move anywhere.
In fact, we are assuming and preparing ourselves that it will be indeed delay for the end of the this month will be the FIFTH MONTH since our filing of I-129F.
We apologize for the sentiments but we are just worried and wanted to hear some ideas if what makes it delay compare to other cases considering filing, or type of case maybe or process or what other factors that may affect the whole process and timeline.
We will be patiently waiting and will be waiting even it will take forever for being with each other means everything.
Thanks for the members who did take their valuable time to share there thoughts.

We are in the same situation as you. Our NOA1 date is July 23rd and we haven't heard anything either. We are trying to be patient but it can be difficult at times. Hopefully we will both hear good news very soon.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionMail Package + Check

Ok, so you got tracking and it shows that it never arrived. What are you gonna do? You have to cancel the check and resend the package anyway. Another situation: your tracking shows that the package has been delivered and signed for by Joe Miller. Then you never hear from USCIS. You call them up but they've lost your package in the system for whatever reason. You have to resend anyway. They won't care whether you have tracking or not.

If all you're going to do is cancel the check and resend the package, you really should learn more about identity theft. There's a ton of personally identifying information in that package (complete with a real check) -- enough information that someone who was successful in stealing one could easily not only steal your identity, but also your bank account (via the check).

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionlife insurane
Can't really help you there; I get insurance with work for both of us; it's with Minnesota Life. My last job had life insurance with Met Life, and through some professional orgs, I have some discounts at other places...

ETA: but with both my current and past life insurance, it was about $30/mo for both of our life insurance combined. I don't remember how my dad's been paying, but he kept up the policy he bought on my birth for something ridiculously cheap (but it was only a $20k payout)

Awwww, so many familiar names! It brings me warm fuzzies. Hope all is well with y'all, Beth/John & lostinlove :)

We're finalizing our package - just waiting for our tax accountant to request & fax us our tax transcripts. I dunno if we'll hit Aug 31 or not...

I died inside last week when my boss mentioned wanting to transfer me to Germany or Finland in a year or so. Oh how ironic, be completely done with immigration here (he's sending in his naturalization papers to arrive on the first available day), only to start work-related immigration for us both, haha. (Fortunately, we wouldn't need to do anything for that - it's all on them!)

Philippinespls advice
Since you have your Visa you need too . (1) Attend your pdos ( Pre Departure Orientation Seminare ), at the CFO office ( Commishion on Filipino Overseas ). Which takes 2 hours for the Seminare classes , then they will put in your passport a special sticker ( under philippine law you need to attend the PDOS or you cannot leave the Philippines , they will stop you at the International Airport in Manila . (2) Get your plane tickets ( I read that it is alot easier , if you have the American Citizen purchase the tickets for you , then send you the originals in currier service ).

Philippinesdocument verification fee
We paid the Document Verification Fee in November 2008 , Between the time of Medical Exam at Saint Lukes and Visa Interview . But that was a few months ago , im not sure if they are still doing the Document Verification . But i think they are , the document verification is for your Police Clearance , NBI CENOMAR is still valid . Which means to make sure you still have no criminal record , and still not married , when you go too your Visa Interview . I would check the Usembassy in Manila website , or call the Usembassy to see if they are still doing the Document Verification . If the website says to pay the Document Verification Fee , or they tell you too when you call Usembassy . Then i suggest to pay it before your interview , it allso says if you dont pay the Document Verification Fee before the day of your Visa Interview . They can delay your Visa Processing for a period of time , the only fee you pay in Usembassy is the delievery of your visa (Air21) after Visa Issurance . That's only if you pass your Visa Interview .

All I did was use the original I saved on my computer, and added the words "I continue to support the K1 Visa for Miss abbynorm1"
I didn't put that on the letter she will sign because her being at the interview is good enough evidence that she still supports the visa.
Good luck

You also want to put the Manila Embassy address (1201 Roxas Blvd manila, Ph 1000)

Mrs. Bill , when your K-packet arrives from air21 . All it is , is a notebook and instruction to go too the Usembassy in Manila website . For all the instructions for the Visa , and in the Usembassy in Manila website . It says you need a letter of intent for the interview , under documents needed at interview . So therefore you need it , if they ask for it . They can deny your visa , does'nt mean if they did'nt ask you . They won't ask anyone else for it , each case is different . And they treat it as such , same as all questions they ask in interview are the same with person by person . And for your information , my fiancee was asked for the letter of intent to marry from both of us . And she passed the interview , and allready received her visa .

This is what your letter of intent should say , and it should be a handwritten letter . Not typed on computer , then printed . Then the Usembassy , can not argue with your fiancee at the interview . And say you didnt write it .

After one month i was interviewed at the fraud unit, the embassy sent my passport back with no visa and a letter 212(a)(4) stating that my petitiner does not intent to support me, and below the letter it says there that if i would like to discuss the matter with a consular officer in person, i can appear on March 6, 2009. I was there on the 6th of March and brought my petitioner 2008 ITR and a letter of his tax man. My petitioner's 2007 ITR is negative and the letter from his tax man tells there that his income is not $0, his depreciation is $50,000, although it shows $0 on his 2007 tax return, the depreciation along with this income is $50,000. During my interview the consular told me that my petioner's income was not stated clearly, and she said my petitioner does not intent to support me when i get there in the US. On my petitioner's I-134, Affidavit of Support he checked number 11 box do not intend to make specific contributions to support of the person(s) named item 3. I told the consular that the affidavit of support was filled out right, and she said " ya,. but he need to make an affidavit that he is going to support you." Is this mean that he needs to make a personal letter and notarized that he is going to support me ? After the interview the window 37 called my name and she returned my passport back and a letter 212(a)(4) You are likely to become a public charge. She said, this is not a refusal you can come back here anytime if you have all the proof of documents.

After i was interviewed in the fraud unit, i told my fiance to give up because i am tired all of this mess. I am losing hope and im tired of keep coming back in Manila and going back in Mindanao because i am pregnant but my fiance dont give up easy. He send his bank statement and his letter stating that he is going to support me. Now, he wants me to go back in the embassy as soon as i get his letter. What should I do? Do I really need to go there? Where i am going to submit all the papers i got ? Will they allow me to go there inside the embassy eventhough I dont have an appointment? Please I need your help and advices.

Hi sheremae...

Sorry you are having such a hard time with the USEM. Don't give up. Remember, you can go back any time with the right documents. I believe that there is a way for you to fulfill the financial requirements necessary for your visa. It is worth a try.

First, have your fiance send you a new I-134. He should check the box that shows that he intends to make specific contributions to support you. Make sure he sends you an original...not a copy.

Next, have your fiance send you a notarized letter that he intends to support you. He can also explain in his letter the details of his 2007 and 2008 income tax returns.

Next, include the letter from your fiance's tax man.

Then, submit these documents to the USEM, along with your passport and the letter the USEM gave you. You can submit them to Window 17, from Monday through Thursday, between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. There also may be a way to send the documents instead of submitting them in person.

If you think that this is not enough evidence of support, you could also submit papers from a co-sponsor.

This is only my opinion...but I hope the idea helps you.

Good luck!!!

~ Tahoma

His lawyer said, if he is going to check the box intend to support me that could be a different visa to be used not K1 visa. His lawyer has an agency to work on visa and he said he's been doing this for 200 persons using K1 visa and he checked the box do not intend. I am so confused about this matter.

So, if i got some documents i can submit it to window 17 if though i dont have an appointment? The letter that was given from the USEM tells there that i am likely to become a public charge. It doesnt give me a list of documents that i need to bring. Is it possible to have another interview with the CO?

Thanks for your opinion.

It is Intend to support you , or do not intend to support you . Does the benificary of the Visa have a job , his or her own income . If not there own work , and the petitioner doesnt intend to support you . How will you have money , to live , that would make you a public charge while in the USA right ?? . So by checking do not intend , he basically told Usembassy . He will not take care of you , which if you were in USA you would have too rely on the USA government to take care of you . Which means you would be a public charge .

Why dont you just buy the one way ticket in usa , then send the tickets too her . Its much easier , and then you dont have too worry about any problems if she try to get tickets in philippines . Ours cost 1,100.00 included all travel tax in philippines and usa , travel from davao city to cubu city to get the cfo sticker in passport for the pdos . Then Cebu City to manila , then manila to tokyo japan then tokyo japan to usa

PhilippinesSending money to the Philippines
QUOTE (HappyHardcore @ Mar 20 2009, 08:18 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I'm having trouble finding a decent way to send money to the Philippines. I've tried a few different ways already.

  1. My first attempt years ago was Western Union, way too expensive.
  2. Then I been using Lucky Money until one day they decided to stop using my checking account, or it was my Citizens Bank that started to refuse, so I had to start using a credit card, which gets me the cash advance fee, again too expensive.
  3. Finally I went to my 2nd bank at Wells Fargo and set up an international remittance account to send money to Bank of Philippine Islands (BPI). They were retards at the bank, and didn't realize how it's done. They thought it could be done where I log into my account from the bank website. Didn't work, so then they called up customer server and realized the first transaction needs to be done at the bank. Ok, did that, but then still problems later. Finally found out need to go into the bank every time, or make a phone call to customer service every time I want to transfer money. Big hassle. Then later, for no reason, I notice my remittance account is closed. Maybe cause I wasn't using it enough? I don't know.

Going thru a local branch here seemed to be the most secure and cheapest way, but had way too much hassle and sometimes didn't work. Going thru websites was easier, but more expensive.

Limits:

Lucky Money: $1k/month
Xoom: $3k/month
Wells Fargo: $3k/day

So now I'm trying Xoom and having problems.

  1. I tried Citizens bank first, with routing number and account number off my checks, but transaction canceled with no reason. So I contact them and they need to verify my ID with copy of this and that. So ok, I did that, verified my ID, but transactions still canceled. I call up Xoom again asking what the problem is and they said I need to tell my bank to authorize the withdraw. So I call up my bank customer service, and they said go into a local branch to sign authorization. So I go to a local branch, and they are unaware of any papers to sign for authorization. I explained how the websites worked, with routing/account number, etc etc, but my bank insisted that pre-auth is not required if I have the routing and account number. So I asked if there is daily limits? They said no.
  2. Went back home and tried my 2nd bank Wells Fargo using checking account routing/account numbers, same problem, withdraw/transfers being rejected.
  3. Tried to use Paypal, which is linked to my Citizens Bank and been using that paypal for years now with random ebay shopping. I didn't want to go this route cause its $40-60 fee to send when funds come thru Credit Card or Paypal when transfering from Xoom. But now even Paypal is is flipping out saying that Im spending too much.

I hear the post office can offer services, but only up to $2k/day and anything over $1k for single transaction needs paperwork to fill out. I'm not interested in filling out paperwork.

I am trying to send a large ($1-3k) at a time. About to start building a house over there for about $10k which might take 3-4 months to build. I assume all this paperwork stuff is ways for the government to find more ways to tax me or something, dunno. Banks and websites getting real paranoid with large amounts of cash. Just same, its not like I'm trying to transfer $100k or anything.

Yes, I have more than enough funds in my accounts. My credit cards are used each month, and paid in full, with zero balance again. My credit scores are around 815. What is the problem with using my own cash? Its not like I'm applying for a loan, or lower interest rate. Its cash!

I remember long time ago hearing about some bank that has an ATM card that can be used around the world with little or no fee for withdraw. Is that possible? What bank would let me to create an account over here, then maybe FedEx the ATM card to my Filipina so she can withdraw the amount I put in?

Are there any other websites that are easy and inexpensive? I'm tired of jumping hoops and paying big fees just for trying to send money. Worse case senario is send more money thru Lucky Money using my credit card and paying the big cash advance fee again, just to get by until I figure this out.

Who else sends money to the Philippines? (I bet everyone that is petitioning a Filipina) Whats the best way to send/rec money?

Sorry for the long read. Hope some others can relate and advise to what I'm going thru here.

I have used MoneyGram , and the Service Fee is only $9.99 . Each time you send money , and most places in Philippines don't charge a fee to recieve the money . But some do ,( Banks don't charge , but places like Rd Pawnshop do and its only the Service Fee of $9.99 at the current exchange rate ). So if you send extra $9.99 in the money transfer , then it will cover the service fee . If they will charge , you can check your location in the USA and Philippines at http://www.moneygram...languageCode=en

I dont think you need to pay any tax before leaving the country and it is not PDOS that you should attend CFO, its the Counselling. Check threads on CFO.

The pdos is required by all Filipino after their k1 or k3 visa is received , as required by philippine law from the department of forighn affairs . For adjustment into a new country . And how to travel in international flight , it says about it when my fiancee got her visa and it was attach to the plastic envelope that was attached to her yellow envelope that cant be opened . She allready has the counseling certificates and marriage certificate from cfo before while we were still in uscis

Many are confused about PDOS and CFO. Basically, it is the same thing. It is something that you have to attend before you leave the country. The difference is PDOS is for overseas workers while CFO is for CR1, IR1, K1 and K3 holders.. smile.gif

To newbies.. you can check out this site for more info about CFO.. smile.gif
http://lydialuisa.bl...rogram-for.html

The pdos is a seminare for all types of visa , where you are living perminantly overseas . There is 2 types (1) for workers (2) and the other for family based visa k1 k2 k3 k4 and childreen under the age of 14 is exempt for the pdos . But needs to be registered in the Department of Forighn Affairs office of the President using the cfo . My fiancee allready has her Guidance & Counseling Certicate of Attendance , and Commission on Filipinos Overseas Guidance and Counseling Certificate , and the Marriage Seminare that has my name on the certificate . When my fiancee recieved her visa , inside the colored bag was instruction that said she must attend the pdos and the plastic bag was attached to the packet yellow/brown envelope that says do not open can only be opened by immigration officer at the port of entry .

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionNeed help on the documents
I would send the previous lease, especially if it includes a period of time after the green card was issued. And you can have your parents do a lease for you, or write an affidavit explaining you live with them. Having absolutely no joint billing seems impossible to me for two people that live together though! You must have at least a bank account or a store card together, even if you are not actively using them, right? Maybe if your parents pay all the bills, show they paid some of her bills. If you list all the documents you have gathered so far, maybe VJ-ers can help you with some more ideas
