K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Is it just me or has going through immigration really put wedding planning into perspective?	We have everything ready, just waiting on the paperwork for Rezq to come over! We have invitations made (date & time blank), church lined out for the ceremony, reception prepared, bridesmaids dresses are in, my dress is in, cake paid for, food for dinner after marriage paid for, etc. etc. etc. I'm not a bling bling girl myself but it will be a very pretty wedding and it will be perfect because at the end of it, we will FINALLY be married. Today was the last "estimated date" on my Visajourney timeline and still no paperwork. I'm giving it another month before I start inquiring on the paperwork. But all in all, I'm at peace with it because I know that when God's timing is here, we'll be married. When we get whiny about it we remind ourselves how this is the hard part. We get through this part, and everything else will seem so much easier once we can tackle it together hand in hand; and also, we will appreciate just being able to hug each other everyday. It is those little things that other couples may take for granted that I do not think (or at least hope) we ever will. Exactly. I know a few couples who may not have married or even continued dating if they had to go through this kind of boring, patience-pushing wait time. Anyway, if you don't have your NVC case number, you or your fiancé will need to call the 603-334-0700 number (as mentioned up thread). If they still have the press-1-for-haiti / 2-for-everything-else menu, press 3 to get an operator -- you'll need your WAC receipt number and the names and DOB. Your fiancé should be getting a letter from the NVC soon (if he hasn't already). I'm really surprised they ask that the tax forms be notarized, as they're something you can produce yourself with photocopies or request from the IRS (unlike, say, marriage or divorce decrees, you don't have to get the government involved). This sounds like you should ask in your regional forum - Brazil doesn't care if it's a transcript or a photocopy, and doesn't care if it's notarized.	K and L	Female	Brazil	2010-02-01 10:44:00

We emailed them today (on the advice other others here that have interviewed at Rio, as a 2 week shortcut - the time it typically takes for Rio to receive and process the petition and send the interview date with the packets via email) and should have the interview date and the packets tomorrow or Tuesday instead of VDay - happy Groundhog's Day for us! I don't know if Canada (or other packet 3-before-packet 4/interview date countries) will give you packet 3 over email with your NVC case, but it's definitely worth the try! IF you file for the EAD and/or AP separately from the AOS, it's an additional $340/$305. It's to your advantage to file for both with the AOS, even if you have no intention of using them. Judging from the most recent handful of timelines out of Rio, it'll take 10 days for the interview date to be sent - so it looks like the week of 7-14 Feb (most likely 11 Feb) is the date we'll get our interview date... and we're looking at a 28 March - 3 April interview. I experimented to find out where you pressed 3. If you go 2-1-3, you get a prerecorded message and have to re-call. If you go 2-3, it tells you that it doesn't understand what you're trying to do. Hitting 2 or 5 starts it back to Haiti, and after a few cycles, I got told all operators were busy. I saw how many times it took you to call, I was surprised when I got through the first time! I think a 1 March implementation with a mid-to-late February end date for comments is way too swift for this bureaucracy -- especially given it took them a month to reply to an early comment. If people have been consistently writing in as much as they did in the beginning, 1 April will still be tight; that's only 2-3 weeks after the comments have been done being read. I don't know if they'd have enough time to analyze what the comments were saying (which, in theory, they would be doing since that's the point of giving "us a say") and any statistics/alternates that came out of the comments. IME with working with the feds (outside of the post office, as they're not federally funded, unlike the DoS), they are obsessed with closing spending gaps / increasing revenue in Q4, and if they think that Q4 won't bring in enough revenue, they'll do it in Q3 instead... so 1 April (start of Q3)/ 1 July (start of Q4) are the dates I would expect the most for the DoS price increase. I also may have found mine, as 2-3lb sounds about right for my package, and if that was in fact mine, it's left Miami and is on its way to Brazil. ETA: But I had to screw with the date to get it. If the previous hike is any indication, 1 July may be when it raises, which probably won't affect most of us. If it's April ... that sucks. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	October 2009 K-1 Visa filers	I haven't heard back yet, but I had as my evidence of having met: my passport stamps (Brazil stamps on exit/entrance, US stamps on entrance), boarding passes from two of my flights (which, while they don't have the year, are supported by the stamps), a handful of random receipts (the only important one was the hotel bill that lists both our names, but other random ones I found in my purse when I was putting it together), and some photos from my two previous trips. Dunno what we're adding for the interview beyond some stuff from this trip. That said, I fully expect a RFE because my passport's bio page was poorly contrasted.
