The reason why it took longer, possibly, is because your lawyer mailed it and not you. He can tell you he mailed it the very next day but in reality it probably sat on his desk for a week. It is one of the downfalls of using a lawyer for a process that doesn't really need one (unless you have a complicated case), because you have to trust them that they will help get things going as quickly as possible which is not always the case. I filed my petition for my fiancee myself, and you can see that I have my NOA2 less than 3 months from the date that I mailed the package. You now have your NOA1 so that is what is really important. The NOTICE date, which is the NOA1, is different and it is shown on the actual NOA1 notice you receive in the mail. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	July Filers!!!!	Hey guys, July filer here also. Hoping and praying our VJ timeline is right on point for an October 2 approval! And hello "aws&ndd" we have the exact same NOA1 date I know right!! It is only a few weeks away, and hoping to hear something in that time!! I don't really want to rain in on you guys' parade and I do hope everyone gets approved fast... but clicking my timeline you will see that I am an early june filer who has yet to see any change to the status of his case... not even a touch. The only reason I mention this is that because of some of the posters on this site who were approved very fast, I have been (and continue to be) extremely anxious and nervous all day every day for the past month, checking the USCIS website 20 times a day hoping that my status will change, when before I had seen those posts I would only check maybe once a week for a touch just for curiosity's sake because I expected the process to take 5 months. I guess what I'm saying is: Don't be like me!!! I was completely happy before I was made aware of the fact that CSC might be moving fast. Now I'm just nervous and anxious... ALL... DAY... LONG... Not such a great feeling after some time, trust me. I wish you all the best of luck! I will be ecstatic to receive my NOA2 in the estimated time, however I'm so busy with work and finishing school that its like I don't even have the time to worry about it. We sent ours to tx.. After NOA1 its a lot of waiting. We are gathering some of the stuff we will need for after the approval like her birth certificate and police certificate. We are also sort of working on the affidavit of support but only so much we can do with that now since we have a lot of time to wait still. And we are always keeping track of our proof of relationship, because you will need that as well. Each embassy is different, and I've already looked at what Colombia requires...my suggestion is to research what your embassy requires and start from there. For the I-864 form it is 125% of the federal poverty level for the household size, whereas for the I-134 it is stated it only requires 100% of the federal poverty level. In the example given, $18,913 is 125% for a household size of 2, and $15,130 is only 100% for the same size household. One thing to keep in mind is that many consulates will not accept 100% and want to see the 125%. I am planning on returning with my fiancee during POE and if the wait is long for her to get through customs, this may be a problem for us connecting to our next flight back home. Anyways congrats!! I never worried about my fiancee and her 2 children going through POE, they barely spoke English, there flight was cancelled to my airport because of snow,. She didn't petition before and if she provides the divorce decree's in the petition I'd say that shouldn't be a problem. Age diff, Middle Eastern men get petitioned by older woman all the time,hopefully that's the norm over in Jamaica. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Affidavit of Support	hi sangman here s the poverty guidelines click here poverty guidelines 2011 your current income is not according to poverty guideline so you need cosponsor for your wife support If you have 22,000 dollars in the bank according this info I found from travelstate.gov 22,000 = 4,000 actual dollars to your income which would bring your income to around 21,000. Please read this. I would say you meet the income guideline. "The total net value of assets, less liens and liabilities against them, must equalfive times the difference between the sponsor's income and 125% of the poverty level for the household size. Note, I don't know how hard your countrys Consulate is but my wife's from Vietnam and they been known to reject petitioners I-134 or 864's who barely qualified. I myself went out and got a 2nd job that put me well over the threshold. I didn't want to chance it or ask for a co sponsor(HCM, Vietnam rarely accepts co sponsors who do a K-1) .
