has anyone RECENTLY had it get there in 2 days? I mean, since all those approvals happened so fast? Since that, it seems that the petitions get to NVC much slower. I was told the same thing when I called NVC. However, they have always said that I believe, and it clearly was not true. If I were you, I'd start calling at night, so you are allowing the full time that day for the petition to get there. Don't worry too much, I am sure it'll be there soon!

Apparently the cases get there very fast, but don't get entered in their system until they are sent on to the consulate (that's when they get a case number attached). And it all depends on the consulate when that happens, there is a waitlist for it (I've seen that explained on some US government site but I can't remember where right now, I have to look it up).
We got our letter from the NVC days after I had already received packet 3 (which I received 8 days after the NOA2 date).

Just a quick update, I received package 3 in the mail already! So that's 5 days after we received the NOA2 hardcopy smile.gif

Oh and I went to the doctor this morning to get the vaccinations already, and I can recommend getting them at your local doctor. My medical insurance covered it completely, plus I got very sick from the Tdap one. It gave me a fever immediately and I fainted, and I stayed very nauseous for a couple of hours. So better to get them close to home smile.gif

lol im clearly a stalker ((only of the timelines, dont worry!!!)), but on the timeline you put it was approved today...do you know what the actual noa2 date was? I am assuming it was earlier if it arrived in mail today? On thursday we will have been enggaged for a year.....it would be the best present I could ask for if it was approved by then. Can I ask what state your fiance is from?? i wanna know if there is a chance mine is coming in the mail still! my online status still says update Jan 23rd.

im SO excited for you, I'm seriously shaking. Granted, its also excitement of the prospect of myself and my fiance being one step closer to done. But to see someone from this thread get approved makes me SO happy!!!!

Hm I don't know. I'll ask my fiance when he gets home (his mom called him at work). He's from California, so mail takes not that long from the CSC.

There might be a good chance you are in the same batch as us, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you smile.gif

Why can't you bring it with you?? I know it would be a hassle, but you probably could anyway?? Getting a dress in 40 days here is going to be difficult if you can't just get it off the rack.

Well the airline I am flying with basically told me that I could bring it, but I would have to check it in and it would cost another extra 150 euros to do so (with the added risk of losing/damaging the dress). Also it would be a lot more expensive to get a dress here, and we don't have that much money to spend.

I just don't really know what to do, I don't know anything about dresses or weddings, it's stressing me out unsure.gif

Hmm reading about the dresses makes me a bit nervous. I won't be able to bring my dress from here so I will have to look for one in the US. But I won't be going there until 40 days before the wedding huh.gif

Also a bit of information that might be useful for some people in this thread: lots of airlines are cutting their routes, and therefore have cheap deals on one-way flights. I booked my one-way from Dusseldorf to Los Angeles for mid september (this route gets cancelled end of october) for only 344 euros including everything!

On the NOA there's a received date and a notice date. The notice date is your NOA1 date smile.gif

A touch basically means someone "touched" your file. Each file gets a barcode, and everytime the file moves somewhere, it gets scanned into the system. Our file got "touched" too, 2 days after the NOA1 date, my guess is that it's just a sign that they put the file into the waiting line..

It shouldn't take too long before you get it in the mail. We got ours only a few days after they cashed the check smile.gif

my check is really hard to read..do you know what it was directly under or anything? thanks smile.gif if i cant do it this way, hopefully the NOA1 gets to my house soon!

On our check it said "for credit to US treasury", then 2 lines of random numbers and codes, then a line of dashes, and below that was our case number, starting with WAC followed by 10 digits.

Yeah that'd be good but then I need to know which vaccinations I need. Because I've asked my doctor once before and they didn't know anything about it.... I'll give dr Schulte a call ^^

Here's a copy of my vaccination report, it shows all the vaccinations they check for. You can ask your own doctor which ones would be appropriate for your age and situation. As you can see I had to get my DKTP done again, since it was more than 10 years ago. http://farm3.static....dc3e62204_o.jpg

I called the GGD and they can do it for me.. But I do not want to spend money on something when its not neccasarry. This process already costs a lot.. And we don't have much. Is there something I can call. To know for sure?

You can also contact your own family doctor, that's what I did. They should have a list of the requirements as well, you can have them done there. They give you a prescription for the vaccinations, you go and pick them up at your local pharmacy, and you make a return appointment to have the shots administered (but make sure your doctor marks them on your vaccination record). This way, most of it should be covered by your insurance, since your own doctor prescribed them.
