APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!! :star:   :star:

I heard from Mari and we are approved! In fact ALL the VJers were approved today! Seems like February is "Clear The Backlog!" month.

Congrats to all the new Visa holders!!

Mari said her interview was very easy. The final interviewer was nice and friendly. He even allowed her to arrange for Visa pick-up at the embassy. Sometimes things can go just as you hope.

Also, Mari had a great time at the dinner the night before. She really enjoyed being in such a warm and friendly group!! I wish I could have been there and lifted a glass with all of you. Thanks Gary for hosting!! I'm looking forward to seeing the pics.

Mari and I are so grateful for this site and the great contributions from so many people. We couldn't have done this without ya!!

Eric :D

Congratulations, Eric and Mari! I am so happy for you both!

now my interview is next week and im getting nervous...worried about a few things:

my fiance is self-employed, he gave me his 3yrs ITR and 3 yrs W-2 plus letter with the letterhead and his position in his own office. He sent his bank statements and a letter also, but in his last 12months statement (up to Dec.), his remaining bal is not that much. He has spent his savings for some important things. Would this affect my interview?

also, age gap would really contribute to AR? worried huhu

fel

Hey Fel,

My statement was very low also, but the also had list a Average Daily Balance on it. But it was not asked for for our case.

El was asked about our age gap, but we have no idea if that was why we were put under our AR.

Victor

thanks Vic, hope everything will be alright... i even include ur application be out from AR in my prayers

Ive talked to El last time :) ...she is so blessed and very happy having someone so like u. :)

Good news for us on AR, i hope we can do something like that. PM you with the details ok.

Happy Heart's Day everyone!

I got the best Vday presents, I got a text from delbros my visa is already ready for delivery. My fiance's congressman has written manila USE last friday and we got action two days after. Praise God!

PW, pls update my timeline. Salamat!

Hi all. I read so many "visa picked up" comments on approvals that I would be grateful if the approvals who picked up their visa could tell me how you requested it and to whom you requested pick up from instead of Delbros delivery? How does the Embassy notify you that the visa is ready for pick-up? If pick-up from embassy is granted do you still pay Delbors fee? Thanks for your responses

From postings we've had so far, pick up is requested from the consul after interview. More often than not, pick up is approved if the USC is present. Consul will let you know when to come back for the passport. You don't have to pay Delbros fee if pick up is approved.

Thanks PW. I will be there with Mira on the 20th, so we will ask for pickup. Good luck to the couples on the 15th and 16th and to Burrito today. Anybody heard from Amerikano??

Hello all! Luz and I have just finished our Valentines dinner at the Mall of Asia. We are going to see the Imax movie in a little while but we thought we would check in here first. Congrats to everyone that got approved yesterday and today. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow after our interview. We had a bit of drama today with Luz's BC but we have it all worked out now. Everything is ready and we are rarring to go!!
Thanks to Maria for arranging the reservations for us. See you all there tomorrow!!

i wish you both the best of luck!

1) I agree with Gen. It is the Spanish way. My NBI clearance has the “y” and the “de”. “y” is to denote mother’s maiden name and “de” is to denote married name. For example, Jackie Kennedy’s (Jacqueline Lee Bouvier Kennedy) NBI clearance would appear as:

BOUVIER de KENNEDY, JACQUELINE y LEE

oh.... right... sorry 2hearts... I knew there something was a little askew in what I said
'de' for married or last name... 'y' for middle name...
I stand corrected.

Congratulations to couples who just got approved.. and good wishes for vic & el to get out of the AR hole soon.

We are still around, we not dead yet

We are hoping for a fast clearing of our so-called general review. I hope it is trully a general review only, thanks everyone for there help and support.

We will keep preying and hoping too be together soon. We have so much plans that are on hold. But life will go out with or with the help of the USA. hehehe

Did you have any changes on your Birth Certificate? Was the BC late registered? Was there anything at all unusual about the Cenomar or NBI? Any idea at all why they put you on AR? I wish you the very best and speedy adjudication.

I don’t think she had any changes too her Birth Certificate (but we know it had errors on it with her mother using her father's last name: reason unknown. also she noticed that her mom age was wrong at the time of her birth. When she was at the NSO, she asked about fitting the errors and was told it would take 6 months. So we took a chance on them letting it go with out fixing it.

I don’t think her Birth Certificate was registered late.

We didn’t notice any issues with her Cenomar or NBI nor did they say anything about them at the interview.

When she was done with her interview, she was given the PINK paper that has a list of things that was required too bring too them. It was blank and she was told that was good that it is blank.

She was told at the time of her interview that it would take a week too review her case. When I called them the day after, i was told this general review would take 4 to 6 weeks too clear.

So the reason why we was put under AR is a mystery at this time.

Thanks for you concern and I hope we will also be cleared in a timely matter.

hi..

we just got approved today..and hoping to pick up the visa on friday..as of now, we're here in DIAMOND hotel..

i may not be as informative like others, but these are the things that i remembered so far..please bear with me..

documents that we're asked to get a number.:

ds-156k - there should be a signature below "do not write below this line" part..(its a must!)
2 ds-157
2 ds-156- with pictures pasted not stapled on it (2x2 white background/visa background)

***the people outside the embassy whose taking care of the line with all the rented chairs for 10pesos each, they will really try their very best to tell you that your picture is too big, too small, you needed another 4 pcs of pictures, etc.etc.etc...NEVER BELIEVE THEM..
just make sure to paste 2 pictures on ds-156, then youre fine, the other 2 pictures were already forwarded to the embassy FROM ST. LUKES..

filipina interviewer:

NBI
BC
CENOMAR --she didnt asked for it but i volunteered to give it to her and she said "oh, good for you, thanks"
PICTURES
I-134
2005 ITR

consul:
didnt ask for additional documents
just asked me and larry about the number of times he visited me..

im really thankful for all the informations i got from this forum,...some girls which we met there, thought im very smart, coz i know what to do next, what to expect next,.....GRRR...im not...i told them, i just read alot in the forums..

thank u once again..

and goodluck to all incoming interviews.

Godbless...

Congratulations Jeramie for you and your child!!!

I am glad you both made it though your interview, I hope my help was ok!

Wow Vic&El sorry to hear about your setback we are praying for an early resolution to your AR. It won't hurt to call, but whether they will release specifics over the phone is another matter. I do know they are obliged to put in writing the reason for the AR. Does anyone know if you can ask for the written reason immediately one is informed of AR and before you leave the Embassy?

I called them today too ask about our case and we told they are doing nomal checks of our case, that it will take 4 to 6 weeks to complete :crying:

Jeramie, I don't think there is anything to worry about. Being an illegitimate child, you have sole parental authority over your son. The fact that your son is below 7 years old makes for a stronger case. The father's acknowledgment has no effect over that authority. Acknowledgment is only important and will serve its purpose pag dating ng “mana” (inheritance).

Our Family Code is very clear that the mother has parental authority if child is illegitimate. Even our DSWD, the government agency tasked to protect minor children, exempt illegitimate children from travel clearance if travelling with their mother.

Here are the pertinent laws/regulations:

Family Code of the Philippines http://www.chanroble...eorderno209.htm
Chapter 3. Illegitimate Children

Art. 176. Illegitimate children shall use the surname and shall be under the parental authority of their mother, and shall be entitled to support in conformity with this Code. The legitime of each illegitimate child shall consist of one-half of the legitime of a legitimate child. Except for this modification, all other provisions in the Civil Code governing successional rights shall remain in force. (287a)

Dept. of Social Welfare & Development FAQs http://www.dswd.gov....tails.php?id=47

CAN A TRAVEL CLEARANCE BE ISSUED TO ILLEGITIMATE CHILDREN WHO ARE STILL APPLYING FOR THEIR VISA IN THE EMBASSY?

Illegitimate children are under the custody of the mother. If they will be traveling with the mother, they are not required to secure a travel clearance from the DSWD. If they are traveling with person other than the mother, they must secure a travel clearance.

I hope that this will put your mind at ease. You may want to PM Rebelheart. I think she has the same case as yours.

Maybe others who have the same case can speak up to ease the worry of jeramie and larry. I should not worry if I were you. The embassy knows our law and will abide by it. O ayan, sana magbati na ulit kayo

thank u so much for the informations..now, i can sleep better and i can help build up once again larry's hope for the interview..

i already went to the DSWD davao,. and they told me that everything will be fine coz i was never married, so the father has no "say-so" to the child.

thanks and Godbless..

jeramie

Jeramie,

DID you go too dswd too ask them? Eldalin say the is no need too get the consent of the father, unless we hear other wise. We will just trust what they said. If I was you i would go ask them too be sure.

WHO DOES NOT NEED TRAVEL CLEARANCE?

All minors other than those cited above, for example:

A minor traveling to a foreign country with either parent or with his or her solo parent or legal guardian;

A minor traveling abroad whose parents are in the Foreign Service or living abroad or are immigrants, provided he/she is holding a valid pass such as a dependents visa/pass/identification card or permanent resident visa/pass/identification card which serves as proof that he/she is living with parents abroad and their travel does not constitute child trafficking.

hi..

my interview will be on the 6th of february and my son (3 yrs. old) will be with me, and also larry.
ive been trying to organized my documents to the best i can,.

i have some issue with my son's BC. ive never been married but it just happened that my son's dad signed on the birthcertificate, acknowledging that he's the father..

a lot of friends advised me to secure a father's consent...but...i dont have any idea where in the world is he right now..

i tried to talk about this with larry, but i guess i made the wrong move..i shouldnt have told him about it coz he got pissed off and just starting to lose hope...we're now having this lil arguements this past few days., maybe becoz of the incoming interview and the anxiety and being nervous is there..

truthfully, i really dont know what to do,..ive tried to contact all the members in the forum with k2, so atleast they can tell me any insights about it, but still my situation is a lil bit odd coz of the "ACKNOWLEDGEMENT-BY-THE-FATHER" thing..

i will greatly appreciate any advice or "what-to-do-next" ideas...

thanks for the time reading my post..godbless.

We are waiting for VISA also. My wife's interview was 01/25......two days after you......Delbros says 7 days to province for delivery. My wife is in Cagayan de Oro and hopes that she has her visa on February 1. I have been trying to look it up on the Delbros website, but the website there isn't working.

I'll be interested to see recent delivery times to Cagayan de Oro. We're going to request Embassy pick-up of the VISA, but if they deny our request we will wait for delivery in Cagayan de Oro. Interview is Tuesday 2/13 and we have tickets to leave at 11PM on Friday 2/23.

We was planing on Friday 2/23, that is if they have a 10pm flight out. The 10pm flight is PR102, is that what you have Gary?

Vic&el, davidjack, binow, arch and cel, are probably having sleepless nights already

Its true PW but I have defense mechanism about sleepless.. I always remember the promise of our Lord Like ""And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." -Matthew 21:22..."God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea..." Psalm 46:1-2 and according to the bible He will never leave us nor forsake us!!! God is faithful to His promise! God is able to those who believe!!!

God bless,

Can anyone confirm how long the medical is good for? Lilia got her new papers from the embassy for a new Feb. 26 interview, and there is a new medical schedule too. She just finished her medical at St. Lukes on Jan 15. Surely she doesn't have to go back through all that mess again? Right?

I would call both St. Luke’s and the embassy too confirm that, you may have gotten the standard letter that everyone gets my friend.

Well it appears we have another debate: Is the Bank Letter Required? YES or NO.

I am thinking that it all depends on the financial situation of the USC. I imagine that if USC is making less than $24K a year, he might be required to submit more evidence of financial standing like bank letter. If he is making well above $30K then W2, ITR, pay stubs and employment letter would suffice but that is just my opinion. No one really knows what the consular officers are thinking.

In my case, since I want to minimize my chances of getting an AR, I might as well get that bank letter because if Mr. or Ms. Consul is having bad hair day he/she :girlwerewolf2xn: can ruin my day as well

My fiance paid $30 for his bank letter. Gee, these American banks! $30 for a letter!? My bank here in the Philippines does not charge me a single cent for a simple letter like that.

Well i am over 32K+ but should i do it anyway, too be sure. i will need 2 fax it too her ASAP!!! She has her medical tomorrow guys or girls!

To all of you here.....I want to thank each one of you for all the support you all gave to me. May God bless all of us and soon be united with all of our love ones. :D

3. If you wear a wedding ring TAKE IT OFF! There was a lady in front of Luz that had a wedding ring on and they are forcing her to get a new CENOMAR

very good suggestion Gary. why take any unnecessary chances.

I am confused what is the difference of the two, who says it is a wedding or engagement ring?

*** I have a wedding band from Paul my fiance (is it ok?)

Question : Do I need to fill-up and show the Visa Application Forms at St. Lukes? Do I need to complete the Documents in the Appointment Packet before they proceed on my Medical check-ups?

A wedding band can get you into trouble as Gary has indicated in his earlier post so keep your ring at home. You are a K1 and should not show up with a wedding band.

You don't need to fill up the DS forms and complete the documents in the appointment packet. Those are for your interview. St. Lukes will provide you with the forms that they would need for the medical. Bring your old x-rays if available.

What if the band is an engagement ring?

A wedding ring is great for if you’re married sure, but we both wear a ring for our engagement.

If even read: if you have a ring receipt too bring it with you for proof of engagement. True or untrue!

It depends on what the ring looks like. If your wearing a diamond ring then you can say it's an engagement ring. Luz has that and it's OK. If you are wearing a gold band then they might look at it and demand you prove your not married. If this happens at St.Lukes a week before your interview then you can count on your interview getting changed. If it happens at the interview then an AR is assured. Luz and I both wear gold bands but they will be no where to be seen at the interview. No need for any unnecessary chances.

So wear no ring too the medical or interview, what is your proof of engagement?

My wife has her interview on 01/25. We don't expect any issues there, as she has everything in order and I sent everything but actual DNA about me! Her POE will be Detroit. I will fly there that morning and then fly home to Florida with her that evening on the same flight. In scheduling our flights, I just wonder how much time it takes for her at the POE in Detroit before she is ready to leave for her flight to Florida? Maybe someone can give me their experience with arrival at the POE. I would certainly appreciate it. Good luck to all!

Glenn

She will pick up her Visa at the USE then you will fly there too pick her up?

For those with February interviews - who has already purchased a plane ticket? Where did you purchase it, what airlines and what was the cost?

...also, how many days after the interview did you book it for?

Thanks!

I didnt buy her ticket yet, but i was going too get her a direct flight though philippine airlines:

http://wftc3.e-trave...amp;LANGUAGE=GB

Price depends on where you are flying our from. She needs too fly too Manila from CDO or Cebu.

Also will you get a round trip ticket or one way? I will get her a oneway ticket.

the price i got today was: 43,364.00 PHP (888.53 USD) flying too our POE of LAX.

I asked for quotation from my travel agent here in Manila and they quoted me these Philippine Airlines airfare for Feb. 15 departure MNL-LAX one-way:

First time immigrant fare - $554 (inclusive of US taxes) + P1,620 travel tax
Regular airfare - $691 (inclusive of US taxes) + P1,620 travel tax

You may want to ask about "first-time immigrant fare" for your ladies guys! I think it's only Phil. Airlines that offers this fare type.

Thanks PW,

I didn’t know about that First time immigrant fare, I am sure a travel agent will know about this.

me i jsut bought mine last week

carrrier korean air
route dfw to inchean south korea to manila
time 2 weeks
price 1030 round trip
i purchased mine at emerald travel agency
i have used korean 4 times so far and find them impressive in service i have used philippine airlines before and they totally SUCK lol only time i would use them again is if the tickets were free.....

good luck in shopping for air fare... hope u find a good deal

Korean Air is superb! I took a trip to Beijing 4 years ago on Korean Air. :star:

Right now, lowest price is going to be my biggest issue. I flew PAL from Manila to Cebu last April and I thought it was great. If Jinky were flying all the time, she might be inclined to notice the small differences in onflight services, but for this trip, I think she's going to just be happy to see me when she arrives. :star: (6 weeks or less, I hope!)

Price is always the issue with us too, but PAL is a direct flight. Flying with other Filipino's is also nice hehehe.

Korean air has a stop somewhere i am sure. I would do it for me, but i am not sure i would do it for her being it is her first international flight.
