Im asking this question on behalf of my friend. He married USC in May 1, 2004 in bali - Indonesia.
However, his wife divorce decree was 7 weeks later than their married date, meanwhile her stipulation and property agreement which signed by their attorney, her and her ex husband in April 22, 2004.
Before they got married, his wife attorney said thats done and she may allow to marry her fiance.

Will be a problem if his wife file the petition for him? Thank you.

Here are the chronological details;
July 2005 filed I-130, approved May 2006 but USCIS lost it (we called them and asked where is our approved petition, and they suggested to refile and we had a very bad lawyer)
October 2007 refiled I-130 and I-129 denied

We contacted the congressman and they will try to reactive our old petition but so far uscis can’t find it, ah well

Thank you all, we will check the requirements to file DCF in Jakarta and if we do DCF is it ok since my husband appealed the case?

Thank you so much for the responses. Yes they sent us the RFE.

Last may 2006 our I-130 approved, we did not abandoned it, but uscis could not locate our approved petition. When my husband called 800, they asked him to refile I-129 and I-130 and we did it and denied.

Or could we do DCF? my husband lived in Jakarta more than 6 months?

Had bad news that my petition had denial; they said that the signature at the husband divorce decree was unclear.
He got the digital signature finally and he appealed the petition last week.

Our ex lawyer said it will take 12 or 18 months to process this, is it true?
Is it possible to reactive the approved petition? It has been approved last may 2006

First of all I would like to say thank you for all vj members who are very supported and very helpful.
Finally my I-130 approved last june 19, 2007 and hope we will receive the notice very soon.
Its a very very long journey, almost 10 months we have to wait this moment ......... Thanks God, finally He heard our prayer

Hello VJers

I have question about form DS 156 point 32: do you intend to work in the US? i said yes but i still don't know yet the complete address of US employer.
What should i answer for that?
My fiance got email from US embassy in Jakarta that i (beneficiary) have to fill out pdf form. why did embassy send uneditable pdf?
i already tried pdf version 9 trial and not working.
i am downloading pdf form in visa journey website but for DS 230 they are not look like.
so i think i have to typewriter the form?

After i read some more i believe my case number is exactly as shown in letter that embassy sent to the petitioner. Not like what the stated in NOA 2.

I'm wondering if there's anyone married with Permanent Resident.
My husband applied for I-130 and received by California USCIS on 8 March 2006. And August 2009, I-130 was approved. Few days ago I received a letter from NVC informed that my case # already changed from WAC.... to JAK....
It only said that I just wait, visa numbers are not presently available for my use because this delay is that there are more applications for visas than there are immigrant visa numbers available under the limitations prescribed by law. I will be notified when further consideration can be given to processing my applications for immigration.

My questions are what is the meaning of that letter? what is next step after I received that letter?

Is there anyone in here who received DS-3032 and AOS bill based on category F2A? I'm already received the confirmation letter from NVC regarding NVC # few weeks ago but until now did not receive those docs.
Can you guys tell me how long do I have to wait after I received NVC # based on category F2A?

Hi, I believe my question has been asked dozens of times, sorry to all, but I need a clearer explanation about the right way and fastest way to be together with my American boyfriend after marriage. I am Indonesian citizen, my boyfriend is a U.S. citizen, live and work in Seattle, WA. We are planning to marry ASAP and not to long to be apart after married. Actually we wanted to get married in Indonesia (we met there and my parent is there), but considering he had not lived and worked in Indonesia (he will be in Indonesian tourist visa if ever we married here):
1. Is it possible to file the I-130 through U.S. Embassy in Jakarta soon after marriage? Or should he file it to USCIS in Seattle after he went back?
2. If you still have to file the USCIS, how long is the process of K-3 Nonimmigrant visa, while waiting for pending approval of I-130.
