i'm from surabaya :) I started to check on USCIS site about my case after 4 months, almost everyday then my fiance surprise me with the news that we got our NOA2 and it got approved on valentines day :D oh and there's no email or sms notification for this and till now, when i check on USCIS website, our application is still on initial review phase, so don't really count on this site :P

you better create your timeline and which service center they send your case to, CSC or VCS, it can give you a clue when you might get your NOA2 :)

you can ask me if you have any question, and i'll help whatever i can :)

my fiance once made silly mistake too, he wrote attachment doc of how we met on cover latter while there's no attachment doc at all, and we got approved with no RFE :whistle: so no worries and keep in faith :thumbs:

i think you can get an open round trip ticket for you, so you can change the return date when you both ready, and buy a one way ticket for your fiancee after she got her visa, since she'll go with k1 visa, if local travel agent won't allow one way ticket then purchase it online :yes:

correct me if i'm wrong, i believe i read somewhere in vj that as long as its not registered as legal marriage, you can apply for k1 visa. but yes, don't show them any of the wedding pictures, and have a civil wedding when both of you already in states :) good luck ;)

Hi,..Guys I have this long distance courtship with American man for 8 years, but haven't met in person yet. I know it's sounds crazy but don't worry i know what our obstacles are..

umm..we really want to meet in person but seemed the possible way is that i go there. The problem if i apply for tourist visa, i cant marry him or it will be a fraud if we dare to do it. I'm a good person and citizen and i dont want to do anything againts the law and God of course. innocent.gif

So, we came up with the idea to apply for fiancee visa but when i read the prosedure and requirements we should have proff of meeting in person in last 2 years .. crying.gif unfortunately we haven't...

is there any suggestion for us..
I know our live is in God's control
We walk in our faith

But we will really appreciate it, if anyone could help us..

Hi..member of VJ,.. need all your advice here.

I have fiancee lives in Texas and he will come on this May for the first time. Just thinking that can we meet and then throw an enggagement party and after that we are going to proceed K1? Is it possible?.. He planned to have second visit on October or November later on coz he will be a best man for my best friend wedding. So, we thought that after his first coming till he come back again..the paper will be finished and If God allowed I could come to US and get married by the timeframe.

or better if we have the engagement party on October but we proceed the K1 from May or June after his first visit?..
the thing that i consider if the 1st meeting and enggagement is too fast or no gap time in between and they will think its a game. I just need the better and wise option.

For those who have the similar experience, please do share with us.

Okay, to my knowledge, you can file I-751 anytime from 90 days before the second anniversary of the greencard. Doesn't that mean as long as we can file anytime within 90 days (could be 60 days, 30 days, as long as not after the card expires)?

I called the immigration office, and was told I have to file it exactly 90 days before the card expires, no more and no less blink.gif

You know what, that makes perfect sense. Especially when the person getting RFEd sent everything including the kitchen sink. I guess their kitchen sink ended up in somebody else's kitchen in that case.

Follow these guidelines from their site and you will put the officer reviewing your file in a much better mood, hopefully putting a smile on their face while they review it.

I've worked with the government (as one of our customers) for years and can tell you that submitting stuff the way they want to see it definitely helps expedite what you've submitted. I know lots of people on here don't read this guide and don't prepare their package this way and get approved anyway, but it doesn't hurt to give them what they want.

Yes I think my husband have to hire a new lawyer and it means 'cost'.

I don't know where you are in the process, but your husband should be able to contact USCIS or the National Visa Center and find out what's going on with your case. You don't need a lawyer to do this. You can explain that you lost the reciept number or something. Maybe others can be more specific on how to do this but I would imagine there has to be a way to search for your case either by the petitioner's name or the beneficieary's name. The lawyer should have recieved some form of notification or documentation after filing your case. Your husband needs to take it into his own hands and follow up or hire a new lawyer.

I am looking for a good lawyer in the Seattle area. My last lawyer has been playing games with me and im getting ready to sue him for malpractice. My wife and I have been waiting on since october 2004 for a visa, the lawyer gave me a receipt number that did not belong to my wife, supposedly he submitted a document trace which i paid him to do but he hasnt sent me the trace results when i keep asking for it. now he says he has resubmitted teh paperwork. By now obviously i trust him as far as i can throw a building.

I miss my wife so much.
