No, I forget who was looking after the k1 spreadsheet, but I believe her fiance past away due to a horrific traffic accident. Another Cdn member then offered to step up to the plate and take it over, i think i recall seeing post in the past few days about her intentions!!

here it is: http://www.visajourn...howtopic=198412 July09bride!!!

good.gif thanks

Worst part is that I haven't been able to log in to see my case status online. So even after I get my NOA2 in the mail, I won't even know when I've been logged in after I send my packet 3 sad.gif Just hope things will be okay.

You can't see that part, don't worry smile.gif Once you get your NOA2, it gets forwarded to the NVC. You call them and ask them what day they sent your file to Montreal. From there, the only way to know if Montreal logged your file is to email them.

They'll have their e-mail address on Packet 3? Or where would I find the e-mail? Thanks!

Montreal's email address is on Packet 3. They do not take phone calls.

One way to speed things up at NVC is to pay everything online and not to use snal mail. We lost between 4 - 5 weeks because my husband send everything in by mail and did not utilize the quickier method of paying online. Hope that helps you out.

Janet

She is doing a K1, so she won't need to pay anything before the actual interview date. Just wanted to note that so she doesn't get confused.

Great, thanks!

Hey everyone,

Just wondering what the waiting period is like for Montreal right now. If my NOA2 comes in August/September, what is the likelihood of getting an interview in October? Thanks.

QUOTE (SapphireDreams @ May 27 2009, 04:20 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I filled this out for my interview. I'm not sure what you mean by faster. If you mean, will this get you an interview faster, nope! They also still require the DS156 at the interview (which they will explain in Packet 4).

It took me about an hour to fill out and really isn't that hard to do. I timed out a few times, so that is what took me long to finished, so make sure you save as you go like it suggests!!

I see. So DS-160 is the form you send the consulate before the interview and you would also bring DS-156 to the interview? Thanks.

CanadaForm DS160
Hey everyone,

I've seen on the government visa website that some consulates require us to fill out the new form DS-160. This takes the place of DS-156 that we have to send for Packet 3. Just wondering if anyone has done this yet. Is it supposed to be faster? Anyone know? Thanks.

Thanks,

CanadaSubmitted my DS 160
Hi everyone!

I have a bit problem....I just submitted my DS 160 form online today with a possible error. I am a Canadian citizen born in Taiwan. Under nationality, I had put Taiwanese over Canadian. I thought that since I was born in Taiwan, I'd be a Taiwanese national (any idea what the difference is?) Anyway, I think it should have been Canadian.

Now that I have submitted this, I'm not sure how to correct this. Do I just e-mail Montreal about it?

Any help will be great!

I'm just looking at the vaccination record I got back from the medical. These are the ones they mark down as "Not age appropriate":

Polio
Rotavirus
Hib
Hep A
Meningococcal
Human Pap
Zoster
Pneumococcal
Influenza

The only one you'll need to have is Hepatitis B.

Hope this helps.

Thanks!! That definitely helps. I DO have the ones I need then. *phew*. LOL Sorry... mini-panic-attack-for-no-reason moment whistling.gif

Yeah, I hear you about Gardasil. I actually got mine a couple of years ago. I saw the ads on TV and I got scared. Fortunately, I had insurance coverage that covered about 80% of all Rx, so I didn't dole out much. But yeah, I don't think I wouldn't have gone through that if I didn't have the coverage.

CanadaToronto Medical and Vaccinations
Hey all,

Here is a quick & dirty review of the medical in Toronto!

So I just did the medical today. Not sure if they are like this everyday, but the medical was open at 6:30. I got there around 7ish, gave the first two pages of the packet 3 to the receptionist and she told me to wait in the waiting room. There were only 2 people ahead of me. I think I waited around 15 minutes before a lady called me in. I handed her my passport, vaccination records, 3 passport photos and paid her the $275. I was then told to wait again. Another 10 minutes, I had to do the chest X-Ray, and then I waited another 15-20 minutes before getting called into an exam room. A nurse did the blood pressure and pulse. The doctor then came in and was super nice, asked all the necessary health questions and did the physical exam, which included the pelvic exam (on the surface). Then the same nurse who checked my pulse and blood pressure did the breast exam. Then another 5 minute wait for the bloodwork. This was the scariest one for me, and the lab person who took my blood was no help in calming me down. She basically said we didn't make these to be comfortable for you, or something to that extent. Anyway, overall it took me about an hour and 40 minutes from beginning to end.

The results will be in Friday after 12PM. Hopefully I passed! I didn't see a weird look on anyone's face, so that's a good sign, right?

Tina

My doctor gave me the Tdp booster shot the other day. I think that's the latest protection. I have my medical tomorrow and will let you know how that goes! Apparently the office opens at 6:30AM on a first-come-first serve basis and you're supposed to be there before 8AM.

Hi Tina&Roland,

Yeah..I spent about 15 or so years in that part of the city...lol..does that count as being a Scarberian? By the time I got to high school though, I moved to a different part of the city, so I didn't spend my high school years there in Scarborough. I have though, heard of and been inside Agincourt Collegiate, as I remember they had some weekend language/math program there for elementary school kids, which I attended for a brief time on weekends (yeah, my parents wanted me to study on weekends for extra credit..lol..). Hey, did you know that Jim Carrey (the actor) spent some time as a high school student at Agincourt too? There's also a community centre next to/nearby that high school too, which has a cool skating rink and swimming area in it. (lol...took my husband skating there once..back in our old dating days....and we also went to the Scarborough Bluffs....which we go back to visit every time we're in Toronto, as it holds a special meaning to us...lol....but that's another story..). I still though, have some family that live in the Scarborough part of the city (my grandparents, actually), and the other part of my family in another part of the city..Sure makes for good travelling around Toronto...lol....Toronto is so big indeed!

Hey, you remember when Scarborough celebrated its 200th anniversary, about 10 years ago or so? Think they had some sort of celebration or something like that there.

Lol..we as Torontonians (spelling error?) know that there are different "parts" of the city! Oh I still remember the days before Toronto became the "mega city". Each part of the city is so different...wish they could have kept it this way....Now Toronto is way too big for it's own good!

Though big city aside, it's a funny co-incidence that we all meet here on VJ...Small world..Welcome from Scarborough to America!

Ant

Wow, great to know a fellow former Scarberian! Which high school did you go to? I went to Agincourt Collegiate Institute. Yeah, I've heard people call it Scarberia before, though many people now just say Toronto or GTA because of the amalgamation. I think when it comes to VJ, it's a small world smile.gif

Tina

Yeah, I totally knew that Jim Carrey went to ACI and yes, there still is a community centre nearby. Since we didn't have a pool at our school, that's where we went for swimming. I don't quite remember when Scarborough celebrated its 200th anniversary, though. I think I was probably too focused on my university studies to bother with that...lol.

Anyway, thanks for the big welcome to the US. I see that you are in New York now. Was it a big change for you? I'm going to Indianapolis, which is a much smaller city than Toronto. I'm so afraid that I'll get a culture shock..haha. At least now my fiance is there and I'm not going there blind smile.gif

Take care,

Tina

Here is the e-mail I wrote MTL this morning:

Dear Sir/Madam,

On September 28 2009, I e-mailed to ask if it was necessary to print out a copy of the DS160. I had only printed out the confirmation page. OP5 responded that it was fine. I have been getting word from other people that it was necessary to redo the application online and print out a new confirmation. Please confirm that you just need the confirmation page. Thank you.

This is the response:

The confirmation page is adequate for the DS-160.

OP5

So....I still say it's ok to just have the confirmation page good.gif

I just bought the XPress Post envelope today at Shopper's. They didn't have the exact specifications as the ones indicated on the P4. For those who got it, does yours say "Next Day" Regional with the size 395 x 295mm. The lady at Canada Post measured it to be 12" x 15", so that's what I got.
