Philippinespurchasing roundtrip tix online from US for parents in PH

QUOTE (T_and_A @ Jul 28 2009, 01:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello! We are looking into purchasing tickets online for a tourist visa roundtrip for two (lets say expedia or travelocity) but would like to ask what all other fees are included or not included on the purchased ticket? Our concern is we purchase ticket for our parents online so they already have it handy when they leave but what all fees do they need to pay when they get to the airport.

Some here in VJ say that they didn't have to pay travel tax, some said they did. Now from research, most said that if tickets were purchased thru travel agency, they usually include the travel tax (1620), another one mentioned that she purchased tix thru travelocity online and was not asked to pay the 1620 when she went to the airport but the date for that reply was Nov 2008. Is there anybody out there who had a recent experience with travelocity and if they needed to pay the PTA (traveltax) during booking or at the airport?

I also understand that there are terminal fees that needs to be paid upon departure from NAIA. Now my question is since this is a roundtrip, how many times do they have to pay fees since it's roundtrip?

Thanks in advance to everybody...

filipino citizens leaving the philippines will pay international teminal fee amounting to P750 and travel tax amounting to P1620...they don't have to pay terminal fee or travel tax on their return to PI... they will only pay domestic terminal fee (P200) if they have a connecting flight to another province (say cebu).... tickets bought online does not include the airport terminal fee or travel tax... i don't know with tickets bought from an agency....

This is only if travel agency is in PI, they include the travel tax when u purchase tix there.

Hi Guys!

I am preparing my AOS. I am a bit confuse. What includes with the AOS filing fee of $1010? AOS filing, biometrics, employment authorization and advance parole? Or I need to separately pay for the fee of advance parole?

Thanks for sharing me your ideas. I'm going to get married next week and we wanted to submit the AOS package a week after my wedding.

Yep it includes, costs are $930 + $80

Thanks. So booking her through Expedia is cool I assume.

I bought my fiance flight while with her in Manila, I purchased it online through NWA.com. and it would not let me purchase, I had to call them and speak to someone in person and then I had no problems. I have heard of some who bought tickets but needed to send cc and d/l photocopy to fiance in case they asked for it at airport in Manila. Sometimes they have problems with person purchasing tickets not being there, its a stupid thing but it sometimes happens.

I was reading a previous post about someone buying a ticket and having it not be valid because it was not bought in the Phillipines. Can I just buy a one way for her on Expedia, that was my plan, from MNL to LAX? That's how I flew there and got back ok. I paid the money to leave the country but I don't think I paid anything else aside from my initial ticket.

Does anyone have experiences with this? I would imagine expedia would be fine but I also never heard of having to pay to leave a country until I left Manila so I realize things are different there and would like to cover my bases.

Thanks.

We all pay the 750php tax when leaving the Manila airport but the Filipina/Filipino's also have to pay a "travel tax" its 1620php.
So when your fiance leaves country she will pay 2370php, make sure she pays the 1620 travel tax before getting in the check in line or they will send her back to pay it and she'll have to wait all over. It's paid at a counter up by the snack bar in front of the airport right after you enter to the right. She pays the 750php "terminal fee" same as you did right before you go through gate to customs. It's paid at a counter up by the snack bar in front of the airport right after you enter to the right.

PhilippinesManila Embassy Visa Same Day Pickup -- POSSIBLE ???
I was at my fiance interview, flight was scheduled 9 days later, I asked he said only way was medical emergency or flight within a 3-5 day timeframe. Best bet is to take your tickets for the flight and show them and maybe that will influence it a bit, I do know it has been said they print the visas on Tuesdays so that is the likely day you would be able to pick it up.
I have also read of others interview within few weeks of us and they got to pick theirs up with no real urgent need, not even leaving the country within 3-4 weeks and still got to pick it up.

thank you all...

just update... im surprised how quick US embassy is working now... I talked to my mother their Friday night and she said that they received a message from air21 already that embassy sent them a package.. I am assuming that these are their passports. I am really surprised they shipped it same day the interview was done. It was addressed to the province though and my parents are still even in Manila now.

Question: if the package arrives our address in the province before my parents do, will they allow someone, lets say my siblings, accept the package for them?

Hmmm...good question, they had a place for us to assign someone to get our package when delivered by Air21 but without that paper I don't know but if I was guessing I would say probably not.

Wow dude. Just because the person from pakistan answered your question you need an, "Ameikano or Filipina" to hear the answer.

You are a Texan aren't you?

Maybe you shouldn't be so quick to accuse....the answer as you call it was nothing more than inspiration..."k1 usually has a really short stop at the NVC stage. So you will hear from the USEM soon"
He asked pertinent questions and was looking for more pertinent answers.....Here in case you missed the original post.
"We are waiting for the NVC to send the confirmation/forwarding letter with the case number. What do we do after that? Do we just sit and wait for the embassy to receive our case and contact her, or can she start getting other stuff done before the embassy contacts her?
If there is other things she can be doing, what will she need to bring with her to get those things done?
He was simply looking for someone who went through the Philippine process, although maybe he could have asked a little different but definitely no need for you to be offended. rofl.gif rofl.gif

I think a point should be made.
  • Single means - Never married (not now, not ever)
  • Married means - Currently Married
  • Divorced - Were married but the union was dissolved (by divorce or annulment)
  • Widowed - Were married but one partner passed away.

Whether or not divorce exists in PI (or anywhere else) doesn't matter - you should be very careful not to 'switch' words and use "Single" when in fact you've been married before (I would think you should be extra careful with this when dealing with USEM).

our NATIONAL STATISTIC OFFICE which is the number one authority about a marital status of a FILIPINO CITIZEN says that once a citizen is annuled ,the marital status is single.

Well its too bad they don't issue visa to enter the US. And thus you should be more concerned about the definition that the USEM will be concerned with.

QUOTE (rockhouse @ Aug 11 2009, 04:32 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Now that we are waiting for the NVC to forward our case to USEM, is it best to just wait for them to contact my fiancee, or go ahead and call them to check and see if they have received it already?
Do they charge the $18.00 if i want to call and inquire if they have received our case from the NVC, or do they just charge for the call that sets up the interview? The reason i ask, (in case you didn't see my earlier threads), is that my fiancee wants to knock-out the medical ASAP.
Also, how do they charge the $18.00? I use a cell phone for all my calls, i don't have a land-line at all....how do they charge the fee?
Thanks.

Just so you know many people have used the code they give you to make many, many and even many more than the 3 they say you get for $18.00, or 2 if they changed it since I got mine.
And yes, it is a charged call to make the call. I'm not sure but I don't see why you would need a landline, you could use the code on you cell phone.

PhilippinesAre there any friendly POEs?
QUOTE (marriedtomrg @ Aug 10 2009, 05:02 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi peeps.

I have no idea where this question should be posted, but I hope someone can help me.

Assuming we get our K3/K4 visas, we are planning to fly to Louisiana first before going to Florida (where my husband is from). His parents and his sister and her family live there, so we are visiting them.

We have two airline choices: Continental and NWA.

Through Continental, we would be flying through Guam first, then Hawaii, then Texas (Houston), then finally Louisiana (New Orleans). If we fly via Continental...where would my daughter and I go through immigration checks: Guam or Hawaii or Texas? Are any of them friendly POEs?

Through NWA, we would be flying through Nagoya first, then Detroit, then finally Louisiana (New Orleans). Is Detroit a friendly POE?

Would really appreciate your comments. Thanks!

Ive heard Detroit is very easy and if you search there was a filipina who came to US and married a guy who worked for customs at Detroit.
Atlanta is where we came through and it was also a very easy entry, I mention this because we flew NWA and Detroit and Atlanta are two of their main entries in the mid US.

The US Embassy requires proof of income over $25,000.00 for 2006,02007, 2008. For me to sposor and immigrant. I have a S-Corp 2006 it opened in august and poted a negative income. 2007 i earned $112,000.00 2008 this years has been exstende till september for filing. As it stands now it will show a negative do to $48,00.00 toward bad recievables, charge offs. Though my draws during the last 2 1/2 years total $215,000.00 Question is, is there such a thing as backing in income.
The US Embassy at this time ask for 1099's w/2's or 1040 earnings.

Any response would be welcomed
good.gif

You need to talk to your accountant and brainstorm on this one. I went through sorta the same situation and still am with AOS.
It really depends on what you have shown on line 22 or your 1040 forms. You will need to give up some of the write offs and amortization and depreciation to satisfy the $$ you need to show the embassy. LOAN from SHAREHOLDER could boost you for this year, file amended returns for last year but its gonna take a lot of money moving to make it work from what you have put down here.
When you say you took draws equal to 215K for past 3 years did you pay taxes on that money? One of the drawbacks of taking a dividend and not paying tax on it.
Really need more info to offer any sage advice, but best thing is to consult you accountant and lay it all out and ask them "what do we do to make this work".
Just to let you know it's gonna cost more than likely.
