My fiance and I, we work on our Petition Fiance together without a lawyer, but we have an amazing friend Lisa helping us as she got married same way and her first advice was "go check Visa Journey website". To make it short, we have sent the I-129F Petition for Alien Fiance to USCIS on 2009/07/11 and we got their response on 2009/07/15 and last night 2009/07/31 we received their email saying:

*** DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL ***

Receipt Number: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)
Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On July 31, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

This info may help blush.gif

1) 2 days after NOA2, starting calling NVC: 603-334-0700 press 1 then 5.
2) Once NVC has your case, they assign a new case #. Ask them what date they sent your file to the embassy & also for the NVC case #.
3) Once you know the date NVC sent off the file, track it at DHL's website: http://track.dhl-usa...?nav=TrackByRef For the reference code, enter EXP 10 JUL 2009A (adjust using dates just before the date NVC told you), with a shipping range of that day to a few days later (July 13 - July 14 worked for the example above). Look for shipments to your beneficiary's embassy.
4) To find out if the embassy processed the packet, call the Dept of State before 5pm: 202-663-1225 press 1 then 0

Then when it gets to Manila:

Don't wait on them to send you anything or you may get old. Go to this page and learn all you need to...Call them and see if they have your package yet and set an appointment.

PEACE..........

I think that's a good idea. I'd also suggest that he file for an extension on his taxes and show the extension paperwork at the meeting as well.

Plain and simple he needs to file the taxes, an extension while good in April really is no good this late in year as they run out after 6 months and when you get the extension you have to include an estimated payment. So best thing to do is get them filed.
If you provide a previous year they are just gonna ask for the MOST recent years taxes anyway or a letter explaining why they can't be provided and "i just haven't done them yet" won't cut it.

Just try to read what the next post ( Baron 55 ) says & try to understand.
I couldnt care less who or what you are. I dont need to " get any where". Unlike you I figured out how to do the simple forms myself a long time ago.
I answered you thinking you didnt need to be told what you told us; that you listed your kid. You dont really even need to do that if you really understand the form but I didnt want to say that.
You said you didnt understand the " second part ". You still dont but others have done the actual thinking for you & made you feel better.
Pizza man is commenting when he doesnt need to nor know what he is talking about & neither do you.
The idea here on V J is to try to offer info that is helpful. I am sorry I couldnt help.

QUOTE (Baron55)
Because they are talking about the beneficiary, not the petitioner. You are the petitioner and therefore you do not list your children, only the beneficiary's children, in that age category.

Ok you say read his post and try to understand...um lemme see...WRONG apparently you missed this post....

QUOTE (Britt and Duv)

He is the beneficiary.
Now you start by saying "The idea here on V J is to try to offer info that is helpful." after you say to him that he doesn't understand the forms and Pizza Man doesn't either when I gave him correct information from the start, you didn't. AND After you told him "The USC doesnt need a visa. If she is there ( here ) she wont be following you; she's in front of you. You dont need to list her."
WRONG, he does need to list her and he didn't even ask about getting her a visa so you offered info that was not even asked about. rofl.gif Then later you said the he "You answered your own question in the post" so apparently he knew what he was asking just seeking confirmation so why you say about "Pizza man is commenting when he doesnt need to nor know what he is talking about & neither do you."
So does he or doesn't he know what he is talking about, and for that matter point out my errors in my posts so I can apologize to him.
Dude I have given info before that was incorrect and it was due to misreading something but I didn't try to argue my reason into oblivion, you are on the road to nowhere. You will never be right, and nobody really cares, it's your telling others that they don't know what they are saying and how much "common sense" it takes to understand your lack of understanding. Get over it and have a great day.

Ning, i'm not going to insult your intelligence because you have pretty much taken care of that. But quit trying to twist tangents to fit your lack of understanding of the question he asked.

Its pretty SIMPLE he said "I have filled in my daughter's information but wasn't sure what to put for the next 2 parts" & "Does this mean I shouldn't list her at all?"
The next 2 parts he is asking about are the 2 YES/NO questions. GET IT nowhere does he ask if he needs to list her again as you keep trying to say.
Reread the post and then go on back in the corner and sulk and browse.

I guess I can not find a way to make this clear.
You said " I filled in my daughters information but wasnt sure what to put in the next two parts". I answered your questions about those " parts".
The answers to those "two parts" are common sense.
I can see my answer isnt clear to you. The question is simple if you let it be. If you have children list them. Then just use common sense as to the other " two parts" . You answered your own question in the post & then question your own understanding of the same answer.
I am stunned that you think you need to list her as following you if shes not going to. That is what your post is about.

Good luck with the rest of the journey.

Um... first you said don't list her, then you said don't list her as following you. It really wasn't clear the first time around.

To the OP: The form is pretty clear: List all children under the age of 21. She won't be accompanying you, and she won't be following you, so tick "No" for both. If you're concerned about it, you could write "See explanation on attached sheet" on the next line and attach a sheet explaining that your child is a US citizen and already living in the US—but this probably isn't necessary. It will already be clear from question 37 on the DS-156, "Are any of the following persons in the U.S., or do they have U.S. legal permanent residence or U.S. citizenship?"

good.gif To bad everyone can't just say "I was wrong in my original answer", It happens to everyone once in awhile. Instead we have to watch the hole digging and squirming. It's easier for me to say "OOPS" sorry I was wrong.

QUOTE (ashokbangia @ Sep 7 2009, 04:11 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello,

First of all I must say that this website is awesome. I love the fact that people share their experiences so we can all get more educated on the process.

Regarding my question...I am wondering if anyone can shed some light on how much time it took them to get their interview after filing the I-129F application. I have a friend who recently got the NOA2 after 5 months of waiting and now the letter she received indicates another 4-6 months to get an inteview...that seems a little longer....can someone provide some time line.

Thanks!

The 4-5 months from filing to embassy is pretty static, meaning it floats around that time for most petitions.
The visa interviews and approvals on the other hand are very much spread from here to there...it really just depends on the embassy you are working with, from what I read it seems Canada does usually have a long period of time between petition approval and interview date. The Philippines on the other hand generally get you in within about 45 days or so from petition approval.

Good Luck
