Ok, so I do an I-864 for husband and another one for his son?  Or I just include the son as a family member on the one I do for my husband?  Thank you so much!!!\

 

(also, I realize the address question seems dumb...but I didn't want to screw it up and a few pages later they clearly ask for my address.  the form seems to go in columns, so it would appear they want my husbands, but since it's at the top of column 2 it's by my name......  Thanks so much!)

These may be dumb questions, but I need a little help:

1.  Page 1 - mailing address and other information section - I can't tell if it's going along with Part 1 or Part 2.  Do they want the info on the sponsor (me - from the US) or the immigrant (my husband from Kenya).  I've seen examples that show both, so I don't know who's info they want.

2.  On my original visa packet that I sent in, I listed my husband and his son.  My husband of course is the principal immigrant.  In Part 3 it says "Part 2. Do not
include any relative listed on a separate visa petition."  Do i list his son as a family member or do I have to do another I-864 for his son?  (My husband will come first and then in a few months his son will come to the US).  I'm not sure if I list a family member on the same visa petition....eg - his son.

3.  Part 9 - since I'm self preparing I just leave blank?

4.  Also - this has to be done hard copy right?  When I called the NVC, they said they are reviewing his assign agent form, but in the meantime I could complete this form and then when the fee was available I could pay it.  I was thinking it was online, but seems like it's a hard copy mail in type form.  And I'm guessing I should hold off on mailing it in until they give me the list of stuff they need in addition to it.

I'm mailing my IV packet tomorrow?.and this was my concern.  At the time I sent my initial packet, I sent a few emails, pics, etc?but now i have more pics, chat logs, a lease, western union receipts, etc.  I want to send these to NVC, but certainly don't want to hurt my chances at all.

My husband has his interview on 4-1.  The Kenyan embassy has told him in person and me on the phone that all our fees are paid.  However, I thought there was $165 that he has to pay either before or at the interview????  They say that all fees are paid prior to them getting the case, but I'm a bit worried as I keep seeing this $165 fee in fee lists, etc.

My husband has arrived in the US!  Woohoo!  Prior to his coming here, we paid the $165 greencard fee.  I think I was so focused on him getting here, I'm a little gray on what now.  Will they automatically mail the greencard and social security card?  Does he need to go to the social security office?  In the guide I read the paragraph below.  It talkas about removing conditions....that's down the road right?  (90 days before the 2 years?). 

 

Additionally, I guess I want to clarify something....we went the married visa route (CR-1).  So he can travel back and forth home to Kenya right?  Unlike the fiance visa I think.  Is this once he gets his greencard that he can go back and forth outside of the US?  The visa in his passport says the permanent resident sentence about being valid for 1 year, but the visa is a one time visa valid for 6 months, so how does that work?  I just don't want to plan a trip and end up missing a husband at the end of my trip. 

 

If anyone can shed some light on what now.....

 

At the bottom of either a CR-1 visa or IR-1 visa is the following sentence, "Upon Endorsement Serves As Temporary I-551 Valid For One Year." The endorsement is a standard CBP admission stamp with applicable information written in by the officer. This allows the visa itself to act as a temporary green card before the actual green card arrives in the mail. Additionally, if your relative is a CR-1 visa holder, the green card will only be valid for two years. Within ninety days before the green card expires, you will have to file an I-751 form to remove it's conditional status.

If/when you receive correspondence from the US Embassy in Manila, reply to it by saying that the relationship is over and you no longer want to obtain the visa. The petition can only be withdrawn by the petitioner, so there is nothing you can do personally about that. However, approved K1 petitions have an expiration date so it will eventually expire with no action taken on the part of the petitioner. I'll state again for emphasis, if you receive correspondence from the Embassy about the visa, reply to it explaining the relationship did not work out and that you no longer want the visa (i.e. don't rely on the petition expiring and don't trust him to take care of it).

Thanks guys! Maybe he's not the one for me. He was just a little bump along the way. He didn't cancel the rfe coz he said that what if things would work out between us in the future. He doesn't wanna start all over again. For now he just don't know what to do, of what he really wants. (But i think i don't want it anymore, i should never be an option. I deserve someone better). We got approved by noa2 a week after he told me that he's developing feelings for another girl. How awful that would be right? Feeling so sure that he's finally the one for you.. And here you are hoping that he will really never live you, build your dreams with him, a life with him but for just waiting just for 3 more months he can't do it?? How could somebody say that he loves you and hurt you at the same time.. By the way, we started january 30,2013. Had rfe around march then got approved on june... Enjoy your life guys!! I don't know where to begin from here but i'll live.

Ok, still having issues here completing the ds-160 online. 

 

It will not accept my photo upload.  I scanned a 2x2 photo meets all the requirements, right sizing, etc.  I've tried everything, different pictures, whatever. 

 

I cannot get to the final step to sign and recieve confirmation page.  DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS?? Please help don't know what to do here.

Is anyone having issues with the online DS-160 form?  I cannot start the application, have tried Explorer, Chrome and Firefox, uploaded a photo that met the requirements etc and keep getting the same message:

It sounds like the embassy doesn't really know what they're doing....or at least aren't consistent about anything. When Benny went to Frankfurt the lady up front told him that he needed to have his picture with his ears showing. But when he went to the next station the guy asked Benny which picture he wanted to submit - ears or no ears.

Benny called from Frankfurt this morning. Odd that the caller ID said Utah call.

He'd brought a birthday card from my son for part of his proof of the relationship. However, because of the song device (Star Wars music) they wouldn't let him take it in. They said it was an electronic device. Funny they wouldn't let a birthday card through.

They made him take more photos (so he lost his place in line) because his ears weren't showing in the ones he brought with him. Benny said he saw nowhere that his ears had to show.

He forgot to bring the picture of us but the agent signed off on the visa anyway. We just have to wait for the medical to be done. It appears the doctor wants to use all that the free insurance allows, mostly because Benny hasn't been to the doctor in so long.

The new doctor put him on medicine and gave him the 3 immunizations he didn't have (DTaP, MMR, & Varicella). At the medical exam they took blood but the new doctor did also. We're not sure why. They gave him an EKG and want to see him back after the interview. Maybe they're exhausting the tests they can do all on the free insurance program they have in Germany. It's all so much for Benny since he hasn't been to the doctor in so long.

Benny went to the medical exam today but they're not sending his stuff to Frankfurt. His blood pressure was 160/105 so the doctor says he has to see another doctor. He was nervous, running late, and had gotten lost. Would they seriously hold up a visa for high blood pressure????

I guess you can call me a February filer. I mailed our I-129f 1/31 priority USPS with delivery confirmation. They sent the NOA1 out on 2/5.

We started video chatting everyday since July. It took a while to find one that would actually work for us. We settled on VZOchat with Yahoo Messenger as backup.

The documents in step 1 are the ones that you fill in and send in and constitute packet 3.

Packet 4 will be your interview letter and you take the documents mentioned in step 2 which are listed as 'documents you are required to furnish'.
