Strange timeline there...

Visa Received : 2009-08-11
US Entry : 2009-09-29

Both of those dates are in the future.

LOL so it means they went to interview on the 6th of August got approved and told they could pick up their Visa on Tuesday the 11th and they have already planned to enter US on September 9th.
This is what I got from the timeline what is so strange about it....?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow many pages of G-325A?
QUOTE (chinausa @ Aug 9 2009, 11:32 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I wonder how many pages G-325A has.

from http://www.visajourn...e=k1guide#proof

it states "7. G-325A (all four pages) filled out by the US Citizen signed and dated (see example)"

but when i downloaded, it actually 2 pages, which it cannot be saved. you have to fill it in and print it right away.

please advise if its 4 pages or 2 pages.

Thank you

To save yourself possible problems down the road I would send in 4 copies for you and 4 copies of your fiance(e)'s. Mainly because when they change something at USCIS like most government agencies, some people just NEVER get it (the memo I mean). LOL You can still use the old forms also.
Couple of points to explain my indifference.
1.) According to this LINK :

http://www.docstoc.c...s-Not-Submitted

It clearly states to NOT RFE for missing signature and pictures when it comes to the beneficiary on the G325A but we all know it has happened since 2005.

2.) How many people go to Social Security Office to get SS Card to be turned away only to go back next day and walk out with the process taken care of...only difference they spoke to someone else or they download the info that says they can get it and show it to the SS office.

I hope this helps.

Good Luck

EDIT: You can tell your printer to print 4 copies after you fill it out once, no need to fill it out 4 times.

hmmm thats stinks sorry brother...maybe this time, you date a little more before filing, no?

Not according to the story "She arrived here (USA) in Feb 2009." and "She returned to Philippines the day before her her VISA expired." This would mean with the math involved even if she arrived Feb 1st and left May 1st, its August 4th so only about 90 some odd days have passed and he's ready to petition a new fiance "I am ready to file a new K-1 immediately. I pray that I do not encounter any problems getting an approval for this new Fiancee'. I have ALL evidence needed and I am ready to file immediately"
Can anyone say whirlwind romance.

The "guides" at the top of this page are the best "guide'. Do not let your fiance know about your boyfriend. There are no visas for girlfriends, you need to be a fiancee to get a fiancee visa

HUH? my boyfriend is my fiancee....

Just click at top of page where it says GUIDES and find your way to K1 visa, just private message me if you have any questions and my NOW WIFE and I just went through the Manila embassy.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEmployment History Question
QUOTE (NyDan @ Aug 9 2009, 10:46 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi all,

My fiance is currently a student and has been going to school for the past 4 years. During that time, she has had a few different jobs. On the forms, I'm listing the school as one of the employers and the occupation as "student" (I did this with my form too as I only graduated ~3 years ago).

My question is, if we put her down as "student 2005-2009" as well as list the jobs she's held while studying, do we still need to fill in the gaps between those jobs with "unemployed" or will we be okay not doing that since she's been "employed" as a student during that entire time.

On my form I listed: 1) Job-A (Aug-08 to Present); 2) Job-B (July-06 to July-08); 3) University Student (Sept-02 to June-06)

Also, when listing the employer name and address, is it sufficient to list just the City and the State/Country for the address part?

Thanks very much.

You should fill in the jobs she has had and the gaps between would be unemployed. Being a student while it is hard work is not considered employment and should not be listed UNLESS she was working for the university and getting a paycheck for the work.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 Visa question
A. Its called a fiance(e) visa because it is used for those that are ENGAGED, NOT wanting to visit the US and see if they want to get married.
B. You have 90 to be married not wait and decide.
C. If you did use the fiance visa and got married in the 90 day time frame, then you would need to file for AOS and it takes 60-90 days after they receive your application.

QUOTE (Jauque @ Aug 11 2009, 09:55 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
EFT = Electronic Funds Transfer

When a cheque is cashed it's not an EFT. The USCIS does not use EFT.

When you give your employer your banking information and they deposit straight into your account thats an EFT. If you give your car insurance provider your banking information so they can withdraw your insurance payment monthly that is an EFT.

Your fiance definatly did the right thing freezing his account if he feels someone is wrongly making EFT's on his account.

Did you ship your I-129f with a tracking number?

Companies can take a check they receive and turn it into an EFT it is entirely possible and many of my vendors do that when I send them a company check.
BUT, its hard to believe that the service centers do that even though they say they do just by the sheer numbers of peoples checks that are put thru the banks and have the stamps on back, IF it is converted as an EFT the bank would not have a stamped copy of the back of the check we almost all receive.
I could be wrong but when I receive my monthly statement it has the CONVERTED CHECKS listed as such.

I want to follow the correct process and wait but it still bothers me as you still cant plan things properly

I just dont understand this requirement of having to be married in the US. does anyone know why you must be married in the US? I mean what does it matter to them where you actually get married?

They don't really care where you get married, that's why they have different types of visas. A fiance(e) visa is for a FIANCE(E) not a spouse. What is so hard to understand about that. If you want to be married in another country then do so and then file for one of the SPOUSE visas.

My fiance lives in Antigua, but travels frequently and only with his passport from Guyana, which is where he is originally from. He is an Antiguan citizen, but simply prefers using his Guyana passport, as he never applied for an Antiguan passport. Will this cause any confusion or slow the process for us? Anyone ever deal with anything similar. I am trying to best prepare for this process as much as I can. Thanks!

He has a full time job in England right now, and has a week off. He lives with his parents, so doesn't have a rental agreement or anything like that.
How exactly do they know at customs that you are going through the immigration process?
I am going to see him in October, but he has this random week off, and we thought about making the best of it.
Any advice or travel tips if we decide to go through with it?
We are two months into the process, have received our NOA1, but no other info as of yet.
Thanks everyone, in advance.

He needs to bring as much info as possible tying him to his home country, a letter from his employer stating he is taking a vacation and how long he will be gone and that they expect him to return on such and such date.

sending in the I-129F package...

but still have a few questions:

There are a couple spots on both the G-325A & I-129F where they give 2 rows for answers (i.e Former spouses' names, fiance's children's names) and those answers are either "none" or "n/a" should I fill in all the rows so there are no blank boxes or is that just repetitive and annoying?

Just once

For the G325A My employment names with addresses do not fit in that tiny box, so would I place "see supplement sheet" in each box or just the first one, implying that all answers for the question is on a separate page. Because it is the G325A there are no numbers or what to indicate that on the supplement sheet, should I just write: G325A supplement sheet: Applicant's employment last five years.

Yes

Because I lived at an University within the past five years my residency is jacked up because while living in the University, I was still registered at my parents house in another state. On top of that for one summer I went to Costa Rica for 3 months. Even if my residency was outside the US, should I include that. Should I have the family vow that I was staying with them for the 3 months in CR?

Just use the supplemental sheet and list them all including the Costa Rica, they probably would be able to see you left the country for the 3 months and if you don't list it they might wonder why.

Right now this is how I have my residence period:
University Address USA 08-08 present
Costa Rica Address CR 05-08 08-08
University Address USA 08-07 05-08
Parents Address USA 05-07 08-07
University Address USA 08-06 05-06
Parents Address USA 05-00 08-06

2000 was when my parents and i moved to that address....should I just go until 2005 since that was five years ago?

Just list it like you have they know you probably didn't move somewhere exactly 5 years ago.

Once again for this question I will have to use a supplement sheet because there are only five boxes, but I need 6 boxes, if I include CR address. If I use the supplement sheet, should I just write it like I talked about for the employment question above, because it's also part of the G325A?

Yes

What am I supposed to do now? Do it all over again and fill the G-325A again and keep it with me as a 'copy'??

Is photocopying all these documents OK???? crying.gif

I know all I posted here may sound quite stupid, but oh well sad.gif

Photocopy is all you need. He is probably thinking COPY exact as in Original Signatures on all the things you sign, this is not needed. Tell him it is ok to photocopy everything, the only things that need ORIGINAL SIGNATURES ARE THE ONES that get sent in to USCIS, now if the package gets lost you will have to resign others to resend but probably will not happen.

My fiance will be taking letters, phone bill records and chat logs to his interview. When I print out the chat logs there will be no date on them. Will this be a problem or can I just fill in the dates myself. They range from May 08 until the present. Thanks for any comments.

You should be able to show timestamps, which program are you using. Check the settings and show timestamps.
Anyway, with the other evidence it will probably be fine without the dates.

It shows the packages by embassy, if they said it was sent Aug 12th then enter EXP 12 AUG 2009A and then look for Manila, Philippines. Your package will be in a package with many others going there at same time, it will not be a specific package, once you find Manila just watch and it will show when they receive it and you can call them 1 or 2 days later and more than likely you will be in their system by then.

Read the K1 Guide here on VJ. You are missing: your G325, both of you need to execute affidavits of intent to marry, copy of your divorce decree, proof of your US citizenship, proof of having met in the last 2 years.

I read that link regarding the requariments, but when I went to the USCIS office they only gave me the forms I-129f, G-325A and G-325 that's is that's all they old me to fill out and the more I read about it in the forums I feel I am missing a lot of stuff.

Thanks for your help, I really apreciate it

Jo.

They are just going to give you the necessary forms you need. But, listen to your fellow VJ members as they have been through this. You need letters from both you and your fiance with the intent to marry. Make sure you have your divorce decree. Usually, it is good to send a certified copy. Also, if you have pictures of both of you together make sure you send that as evidence.

So does my fiance needs to sign any of the forms? I am kind of confuse with the G-325 and G-325A

Yes she needs to sign the G-325A and I would make sure and use the old form that has 4 copies and instructions for a total of 5 pages, she needs to sign all 4 pages.
The I-129F instructions still say to use the G-325A, so I don't think you need the G-325.
She also needs to sign the letter of intent to marry.
Thats really all that requires her signature, to be safe if you are having her send you these via mail then have her sign 2 sets in case something happens to one.

Well, the NOA2 arrived in the mail yesterday. I called the NVC today and it looks like they've already forwarded the package to the embassy in Tokyo. Things are moving along pretty well now it seems. There's one other thing I was wondering about. Both me and my fiancee filled out the G325a form and included it with the I-129F visa application when it was originally submitted. Does that mean we won't need to do it again? When I spoke to the lady at the NVC on the phone, she made it seem like there was nothing left for me to do on my end. But the pessimist in me thinks there's got to be more.

You should check the embassies req's for what she will need on her end and start getting the things you will need to send her.
I-134 filled out, your tax forms and supporting documents, employment letter if your gonna send one. Just follow the guides and they will help you help her through her part of the journey.

Last Tuesday I received an email stating that the I-129F had been approved and that the NOA2 had been mailed. However, it's been 9 days now and I still haven't received the notice in the mail yet. I tried calling the number for the USCIS listed on the email I got, but I can never get through to an actual person. I don't know how to proceed further until I get the notice from them in the mail. Does it normally take this long between getting the email notice and the actual notice in the mail? I'm not sure what to do now. Any advice would be appreciated.

You can apply for a SSN approx. 2 weeks after you arrive in US, if you wait til you are married more than likely the SS office will require GC or EAD to give card.

As you can see on the attached image, I've underlined the stuff we are not sure about.

First thing is the notice. Valid untill 08-11-09 to 12-11-09. What exactly does this mean? And the A number??

Second thing is the I-824 we can file for. What exactly does this mean? What does it do and do we have to do this?

Thanks ^^

The I-824 is to be used if you want to transfer to another consulate different than the one you requested, it has other uses but nothing for you at this time.

Once a petition is approved it has a validity of 4 months, the consulate can extend this if the need should come up so don't worry. Once the Visa is actually approved it has a valid period of 6 months to be used to enter the US before it expires FYI.

Good Luck

Quick question.

My Fiancee just got her packet in the mail the other day. Our visa petition was approved in the US on July 13th and it has just now reached her in Austria. She has gotten everything required on the check list!

Previously I was under the impression I would have to fill out an Affidavit of support but now she is telling me that because she has enough money in her bank account the us embassy over there said that's all she would need to show.

She's dying to send off her packet but i'm afraid that she needs my affidavit as well.

Anyone has an experience where the petitioner didn't have to give an affidavit because the applicant had enough money?

Give the embassy a call and find out, embassies have different requirements and may treat some situations differently than others.

Good Luck

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSupplemen to I-129F/G-325A questions
QUOTE (bigkeeser @ Aug 15 2009, 03:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hey everybody,

I have a question about Supplements to the I-129F and G-325A forms. I will be adding a supplement to 2 of the questions on the I-129F. For the supplement I have what form and question it is for at the top of the paper. Followed by my answer. Do I need to do anything else, like sign and date this paper? Notary?, anything crazy like that?

Yes sign and date it, no need for notary.

2nd questions is almost like the 1st. My fiancee will need extra space for her last 5 years of work. (Addresses don't fit)This will be another supplement. Does she need to sign/date it herself?

Same as above

I will also be providing a basic timeline of our relationship from the start until the present. Anything special need to happen for this? Basically, it is just a timeline of when we met, trips we took, and a list of proof provided (receipts, tickets, stamps, photos). Followed by the actual proof after this letter.

Simple answer will suffice for question 18 if that is the one you are referring to with the timeline. They don't need a dissertation on how you met just a simple "we play an online game called WOW" or "I was swimming in the Indian Ocean and met her when I was walking along the beach" blah blah blah....

Thanks!

Hey guys,

we're filing G-325A form, and there is a question confused us.

The question is " This form is submitted in connection with an application for: * Naturalization; * Other (Specify); * Status as permanent resident"

we're applying for K1. so which answer we should check? Should we check "Other (Specify)", and fill in " K1" ??

Thank you !!

Is there any consequence to sending copies of the ink signed G-325A's?
Because my fiance's lawyer gave back the ink signed ones... for some reason.

What did he/she suggest? (Pencil? Crayon? )

Seriously - USCIS (like most government offices) prefer black ink - that might be the only reason they sent it back... (Unless the signatures themselves were copies..)

She just photocopied the ones I signed in blue ink and gave back the ones I signed.
Maybe she did it because they prefer it in black. I really don't know.

Most business signature always say use black ink, something about in the past it could be photocopies better. Blue ink had a tendency to not show up. I always see people saying sign in blue and I think where did that ever come from.

Also here is a link about G-325A's not needing a signature anyway....but I would NOT sign them because not all government employees seem to get the memo's rofl.gif

1) I see in the guide that they request 4 signed copies of the G-325A. I have a 4 sheet form with carbon paper, so 3 of the copies only have a carbon copy of my fiance's signature. Is that adequate?

2) I was born in the USA. Question number 10 is confusing on the I-129F. It seems to be asking for my birth certifcate number, date and place of birth, and later on for a certificate number for somebody not born in the USA. But in looking at the sample on this website, I see that they say that I should "complete only for naturalization certificate" this first box where it appears I should put in my birth certificate information. Does this mean that I should put N/A in this box? I also don't understand this box marked "parents".

Thanks!

I also had the 4-sheet form with carbon copys for my G-325a. I'm assuming you requested it from USCIS? That's completely acceptable. The four separate signatures are for people who printed it from online.

Do as the others have said for the second question-Born in U.S.

Good luck!

Yes, I received my forms in the mail from USCIS. Your answer seems the most logical to me as the USCIS website says my version is the most current and why would they put 3 carbons in the form if carbon copies of the signature were not allowed. However, the statement of others that an original signature is required on each copy has me a little nervous. Thanks for all the responses.

Carbon paper has been used forever in the business world and ORIGINAL SIGNATURES means just what they say ORIGINAL. The carbon helps you not have to repeat everything 4 times but be smart and sign each copy individually.

QUOTE (Stephen + Elisha @ Aug 16 2009, 07:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
thepizzadude, while it's true that the I-134 is not necessary for the I-129F initial submission, it will most definitely not be thrown away. They don't throw away any documents you submit. The entire packet, including any additional documents you submitted, will go to the consulate via NVC upon USCIS approval. So the consulate will see everything that was submitted in the initial package.

TBoneTX can tell you from painful experience how important it can be to front-load the initial submission for certain difficult consulates, as they won't accept evidence brought to the interview.

I fully understand front loading information pertaining to how you met and bonafide relationship documents, but putting income information will have no influence at all when it comes to approving the petition.
While some consulates may not accept any further information pertaining to relationship documentation they have to take and consider your I-134 at the consulate stage of the process, and if they are gonna give a problem with documentation evidence, job and income information that is 3-6 months old will definitely be a starting point.
Yes it will not be thrown away per say but it will have no effect at all at this point in the process.

Basically just a rehash of the same letter with 2 things thrown in that are just space fillers...and one #5 that is definitely a waste of your time and effort...while #10 is probably used a good percentage of the time #11 is in probably 5% or less of the cases.
Nowhere during the petition approval do they care about your finances, you are doing nothing except getting the petition to ALLOW your fiance to apply for a visa. When you get to the consulate stage and seeking a VISA then it will be important.
